River Bend

Don’t go to RIVERBEND CG in Hiawassee GA! This is an unusual post for me but we are extremely unhappy with this CGand we’ve been RV camping most of our life. Our group recently was trying to find a place for a Fall gathering and I called this CG twice for info mentioning October each time. After our group voted to go here i made a 3^rd call which I booked our group. People started booking reserv. Approx 6 hrs later I get a very flustered call explaining that they don’t do groups in October. I get it but I did tell her I was very disappointed & we were inconvenienced a bit (literally that is what I said). Later I thought about it and wanted to ask if we could book individually so I sent an email. This apparently made the ‘owner’ very ticked bc she didn’t make $$ on weekenders. She called me the next day and basically ripped into me — sure didn’t see that coming. Long story short — these people are only interested in $$. I get it’s a business but her manner was completely uncalled for. We will NEVER camp here again. Btw, they also have a $ 32+ one nite non-​refundable deposit so you better be set in stone for your reservation — there’s no flexibility whatsoever.

Excellent campground! We came up for 3 days and were very impressed with everything!
