Vicky’s Bakery is a racist establishment that does not recognize those with brown skin evident by the fact THREE separate white Hispanic men walked in after me, decide to not wait in line or get a number but to go to the pastry counter and were all served before me who was standing next in line and had a number.

This place has the worst lines of service! I like their pastries, but the service and the chef is slow. And this place also seems like a smoking area. Some days, I see people smoking and smell the cigarettes from the entire room.

Great service and«pastelitos», I actually had the croquettas today as well and they made them delicious. I don’t know if the recipe was changed or that I went in early this morning they must’ve been freshly made! very clean the employees are amazing very patient with my Spanglish! Great location and I don’t have to go very far to get my favorite Cuban pastrys.

I come to this bakery when I visit my grandmother since it’s close to her house. The box is pastelitos I got was delicious! With the pastelitos I got a fresh squeezed orange juice, tostada and My mother and grandmother got a cafecito. *Fresh orange juice: it was really tasty while drinking it and wasn’t too sweet or anything. Really tasty and fresh! *Cafecito: My mother and grandmother said that the cafecito was okay. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t good either. I tried a sip of theirs and thought it was eh, I expected much better. *Guava pastry: We got two guava pastries and they were delicious, the pastry was flaky how it’s supposed to be and they weren’t stingy with the guava. *Guava and cheese pastry: Just as delicious and fresh as the guava pastry! Loved it and it had lost of guava and cheese. *Cangrejito(ham pastry): This pastry is filled with ham and is round. It was great and the ham inside was moist and yummy! *Tostada: The tostada was delicious and I ate all of it! It is Cuban bread which they put butter in and then press it! The butter melts and the bread is slightly toasted yet still soft! Overall, the pastries orange juice and tostada were delicious. The cafecito however could use some improvement.

I give two stars because the food is good. But I was HIGHLY upset due to one of the many experiences I’ve had here. when I get there the lady inside saw me walking up and ran and locked the door before I got there and I checked the time and it was about 10 minutes before they closed and all they did was laugh at me, so I left. Again growing up in a Hispanic household, we always get the bocaditos and croquetas for the parties. My family placed the order before I drove all the way in Hialeah(which has ridiculous parking and traffic) for me to wait almost an hour to pick up and get attitude while at it. The place is long but not wide so it gets so crowded inside and everyone is in a rush and cutting the non existent line and pushing up against you. I would go again for the pastries(only when family orders it) but otherwise I’ll make it myself and save the stress for another time.

So about a week and a half ago, my mother in law & I had a cake ordered to be made here for my fiancé & I’s engagement party. When we arrive on Sunday about two hours before to pick up the cake it was completely frosted in the wrong colors. The entire cake was purple with white accents when it was supposed to be all white with purple accents.(mind you it was to celebrate a engagement and we wanted a white cake which we stressed when we placed the order, they however insisted we add another color for«accents».) The order was written correctly on the order sheet however the cake decorator had completely messed it up. When we nicely addressed the error in the order to the owner’s mother who works at the bakery to see if there was anyway this could be fixed she proceeded to give us attitude and stated that if wanted it fixed we’d have to wait TWOHOURS! The cake decorator was working on another cake now and could not fix it. We were angry at this point but we understood that nothing could be done. It was a rather large and heavy cake so we asked for help taking the cake to the car. The cake was placed in a HUGE rectangle box.(Apparently they did not have a smaller box to accommodate the our«circle» shaped cake) A man then came from the kitchen to help us take the cake to the car. He insisted that we put the cake in the trunk rather than in the back seat. We assumed he knew what he was doing so we agreed. Next thing we know as he’s bending over to put the cake in the trunk he’s grabbing the box from the long ends and the short side edge of box bends in towards the cake completely ruining the cake. We explain that we can’t take the cake with half of it ruined. He proceeds to say that he’ll call the owners mothers to see what she can do instead of offering to carry the heavy cake back into the bakery. He rushed back inside and asks her to come out. She takes a look at the cake and asks what we want to do?!! My mother in law states we want it fixed. She states it may take a while. I proceed to calmly say that we ordered this cake a week and half ago and we received it in the wrong colors and now the man has ruined the cake and all she can tell us is that it will be a while? Did she expect us to take the ruined cake?(Made us wonder how many people have left with ruined cakes so that they wouldn’t have to deal with her) She begins to scream at me stating the cake can be fixed but that we need to leave it there and come back! We are both furious at this point but i knew that if i screamed back at her we would not get the cake fixed and we would lose our money. My mother in law decides to carry the cake back to the bakery and wait half an hour to get it fixed, at this point I needed to leave to the party to help with decorations before we had guests begin to arrive. Once the cake arrives at our home in myind i’m thinking«at least if it tastes good than the colors don’t matter.» Toward the end of the party we cut the cake and then we realize its burnt!!! I wish i had taken a photo on my cellphone! The entire bottom party of the cake was black!!! It was extremely dry and all together horrible!!! This is our last time ever buying a cake at this bakery! BEWARNEDTHEYKNOWNOTHINGABOUTCUSTOMERSERIVCE!!! Never been treated so badly!!! NEXTTIME I WILLTAKEMYBUSINESSTO A DIFFERENTBAKERY!

Came here the other day and grabbed a few things. I was beyond disappointed with what I bought. The only decent tasting things were the guava and cheese pastries. The cheese croquettes tasted like straight up oil. The ham croquettes were nasty and stale. The meat pastries were so hard we had to throw they out. Couldn’t even risk feeding it to my dogs. And the flan was also nasty, stale and hard at the bottom. Probably the worst bakery I’ve ever been to in my life. Not to mention the service was slow and just as bad as the food here. Wouldn’t even give it one star!

Heaven. Cuban breakfast comfort food has to involve pastellitos. Is there such thing as a bad pastellito? Probably, but not as Vicky’s. Have the guayaba and queso, you won’t be sorry.

This is the very best bakery in the area. I live very close so I’m in here all of the time. It’s a franchise location that has all of what the original Vicky Bakery has plus it has some wonderful additions, like pan de bono(dinner roll sized cheese breads) and Columbian empanadas. The owner is a hip ZZ Top looking dude that is always at the front of the house making sure everything runs smoothly… and smoothly it does run thanks in large part to their take-a-number system. Pastries are inexpensive but everything in the display window looks delicious so you are sure to over order. Standouts are the croqueta de casa, pan de bono, croqueta de queso, tequeños and… One negative is that they don’t make milkshakes. I would give them 5 stars if not for the the quality of the guava and cheese tequeños the last two times. They tasted like they were leftovers from the previous day – not fresh at all. Service is very friendly although of the dozens of times I’ve ordered here I have had eyes rolled on me a couple of times when I’ve made a change to my order. All in all, it’s a great bakery. A must try if you’re in the Miami Lakes/palm Springs North area.

This is my favorite bakery! They have just about anything and everything you might want, note that this is a Hispanic bakery mainly. However, you’ll find some classic American pastries and sweets as well. There croquettes are very good, and ever so often they make their house croquettes which are even better. They have cream cheese pastries, guava pastries, picadillo pastries, coconut pastries, I can go on and on and on. The best part of my experience there is obviously the Cuban bread, this is what mainly people flocked here for. This is not your Winn-Dixie or Publix American knock off attempt. It’s the real deal ladies and gentlemen. On weekdays when I visit it’s typically in the morning on my way to work, I don’t order much a simple cortadito or café con leche with Cuban butter toast. Simple and filling. They also make really good authentic sandwiches, Croquettes, egg, media noche, Cuban, etc The one flaw this location has is that it’s so good usually on Saturdays or Sundays you can expect a wait inside for take out, this is traditionally anywhere between 8 and 11am. I believe it’s properly staffed however the volume of people that come in to this location is extremely high during these hours at this location, there is only so many employees you can fit in one small space before it does not become productive. Trust me it’s worth the wait

NPS = 9 Welcome to my childhood. A childhood filled with croquetas at birthday parties and cake with merengue in three colors… yellow, magenta, or cyan. It was as if a Lexmark printer itself printed the cake. Such is Vicky bakery. A staple in any Cuban’s party. Grab a tray of bocaditos and you have a party. The best thing about this place is that every employee will remind you of your tia. They will even come around the counter, give you a besito, and spend an hour talking about family. I love that. This location, however is not open past 4pm on Sundays though. I learned that the hard way. Definitely get the guava pastel into and tell them I sent you.

I die for their Pastelito Preparado… imagine a flaky pastry filled with savory ground beef, topped with swiss cheese, ham and a salty juicy pickle and doused with sugar. AMAZING! I do have one complain, they need to hire more staff! The line usually goes out the door every morning!

I am going to try and write this review as honestly as I can because I came here with my friend and her girlfriend and they did most of the ordering for me in Spanish. I don’t know a lick of Spanish, let alone ordering… For what I can tell you, the food looks and tastes amazing. They have Cuban sandwiches and pastries hence the bakery aspect. I got the traditional Cuban sandwich called Croqueta preparada, then this sweet cream cheese and sugary danish pastry that looks like a croissant. Equally amazing as the sandwich and both extremely filling and cheap! My grand total was under $ 9 for a huge sandwich and dessert. I can totally see why this place is so highly sought out because seriously everything they have is as delicious as it looks.

What can I say about Vicky Bakery that hasn’t already been said. This place is just pastry heaven. I love coming here for pastelitos early in the morning when I know they are very fresh and still warm sometimes. I have bought many pastries here from time to time. I stop in every chance that I get. I have eaten pastry and other desserts at not only other Vicky Bakeries but this specific location is the best. The customer service is fast and on key. The food is amazing. I have yet to come here and be dissapointed. Even when there’s a long line I never wait more than ten minutes. I brought my friend Guil M. here for his first time. He fell in love with this place. Every chance he gets he asks me to bring him something. I always say no!!! lol jk. This place will remain my favorite bakery for Cuban delicacies. As long as its open and upholds the quality of their food I will keep coming here.

According to this Cuban pastry expert I know, this is the best place for pastelitos in town. I’ve been here several times and I have to agree– everything is always fresh and I’ve never had something I didn’t like. You walk in and you feel like you’re in Cuba because everyone is speaking in Spanish with each other and even the servers ask for your order in Spanish. My favorite pastry so far is the cheese pastelito. The dough is perfectly flaky and covered in a semi-crystalized sugar that adds an amazing chewiness to every bite. Prices are fair and there’s nothing to complain about their customer service. This is THE place to go to for Cuban pastries!

I have some weaknesses; one of which is I have no will power to say no to a good bakery. I could be in the middle of a sugar induced coma and I will still manage to raise my arm from the hospital bed to reach out for a good«neapolitan». Forget the smelling salts, just have the doc order up some fresh empanadas and a chocolate éclair and I’m healed. Understanding my bakery love makes it easy to understand why I was so excited to try Vicky Bakery. The reviews read well and Sergio gave it his seal of endorsement so after our UYE lunch at Casavana we headed there for a COUPLE of items to try. We arrived… We awed… We awed some more… We ordered… We ended up buying FIFTEEN items. We had such big eyes and couldn’t resist. cuban bread(excellent) chocolate éclair, neapolitan, chocolate covered cigar, tiramisu(all heaven like) guava tart(only weak item) coconut cake(wonderful) empanadas(pastry part was awesome, a little light on the filling) guava pastry(light fluffy tasty) croquettes(each flavor tasted the same, but good nonetheless) papas rellenas(delicious) The craziness of it all, purchased FIFTEEN items and our bill was around 18 dollars(talk about a bargain). Simply put… overwhelming choices of sugar delights, pastry goodness and so much more.
