Never should’ve gotten rid of the Buzztime Trivia. Tonight was actually the first time I’ve been back there since then, and wow has the place gone downhill in a hurry. The service used to be so good, but tonight our waiter was awful. He didn’t even bring us utensils until after the appetizers were served, and one of us ordered the Bacon Mac and Cheese, which he «forgot» to put in the order. And that isn’t even the worst part — when we asked him where it was, he lied about it and said it would be out in just a minute. It wasn’t. And when it did finally come out, it had no bacon in it. Very disappointed.

Thursday is country night. The wait staff are usually pretty decent and attentive. The food isn’t amazing but is better than normal bar food. This is one of the better country night venues in northern VA.

More like a 2.5. Servers seem to busy to bother with you for more than a a second – maybe the bar is just understaffed tonight. They do have a good attitude and are friendly, though. They have a reasonable selection of beers, although many are the usual crappy American beers. The food was pretty disappointing, though. I ordered the salsa and chips – the chips seemed stale, cold, and. had a flavor similar to cardboard. The salsa wasn’t bad, but it would be great if there were more than a half a cup. Don’t order them. I sent back ¾. The French onion soup had decent flavor, but the«bowl» seemed much more like a cup. The atmosphere is nice, and they had plenty of TVs to watch local sports. Probably would come back again to give it another try.

Ned Devine’s is a mixed bag. I’ve found the place is good to go to for trivia night on Wednesdays, there are happy hour drink deals that are good value, but I’ve never been impressed with the happy hour food deals. They’re overpriced for what you get. The Irish Spring rolls are not as good as some are saying. I ordered them once and never plan to get them again. I typically skip the food when I go here for happy hour. The bartenders can be hit or miss, either really attentive and awesome, or snarky and inattentive. Luck of the draw. The corned beef and cabbage is actually quite good, as is the white sauce. If you can take the price, I suggest this dish. The fish and chips is okay, but I don’t think it’s made to order. Having actually been to both Belfast and Dublin, I have to say this is mostly American pub food with a tiny Irish influence. I wouldn’t recommend this place for families with young kids. The clientele are mostly drinkers and loud, or there for the TVs showing sports. Verdict: Go for trivia night and get happy hour priced drinks, it’s fun to do so.

Worst service ever. Bartender, while nice, did not know diddly. The manager – the one in the vest – could not answer questions about the whisky. Really? Ugh. Will not be back. Wings were under done – avoid.

Took my wife and kids for dinner. End of a long week… was promptly seated … then ignored for 15 minutes. I saw the bartender look at me and our eyes met. He could see by my facial expression I was a bit frustrated. He summoned a nearby waiter to take our drink order. Guy was pleasant. Took our order and brought drinks. Told us we weren’t his section, and the guy that was supposed to be there was nowhere around. Yeah. Anyway … Finished our initial drinks by the time he came back. Ordered appetizer and dinner… and another round of drinks. Kids were annoyed at the wait for a burger and Mac n cheese(30 minutes). A different server dropped off the food. I had the fish n chips … Really greasy dripping fries(not traditional fat cut chips) no vinegar, and just heavy. I’m Irish, I expected better. Wife got potato skins … DEEPFRIED, then covered in a high fat cheese and crushed up dry bacon. Waiter never came back to check on us, never asked if we wanted more drinks. After a long wait, I approached the bartender to ask for a box and the check. Told him we hadn’t seen our waiter in a long time, and that we weren’t checked on, the food was greasy, and cold. He said, «your waiter must be busy», I told him he was nowhere on the floor, and we didn’t get a chance to order more drinks. He took my card, rang me up, made no apology for the crappy service or food… seemed he wasn’t surprised at all. He did not make it right.(Turns out he is the«manager», but clearly in title only). Not family friendly, poor quality, poor service, no kids menu at all. Sad way to end the work week. I cannot recommend this place at all.

I have been frequenting this establishment for years and I’m usually here for the occasional happy hour to meet up with coworkers and friends. This place got quite the update on both the outside and inside over the past couple of years. Upon entering you’ll note that you can immediately enter the bar and dining area to the right or hook a left and enter a quieter area with some intimate seating. The happy hour menu is great with assorted appetizers that you can share with your mates. I particularly like the fries and curry gravy. The Buffalo Wings and Irish Sausage Rolls are good choices as well. Of course there is a bevy of brews to choose from and the bartenders are friendly and efficient with the drink orders. The center of the establishment features a stage and lighting with a small dancing area. They showcase popular bands that flock in from as far as Philadelphia, PA. My old band opened up for another band last year and the place drew quite a large and rambunctious crowd after 1000PM on a Friday.

The service on Friday nights is far better than on Saturday nights. That’s the only update. :)

Food was okay, but service was terrible. I had to seat myself and waited for almost 10 minutes before someone served me. Looked like only 2 wait staff a runner and manager serving about 20 tables and couldn’t keep up.

Nice place to be if you are around Herndon. nice place good food good music and perfect attitude if you are looking to getaway from stupid work and have a nice time. Carlos and Matt are the guys to look for on the Bar. If you not on the bar Britney is someone to look for she will tell you what you are looking for food and will help you out.

Came here for New Year’s Eve. I really do not have a lot to say. It was like any other bar you go to. As soon as we walked in we were IDd by the bouncer, we sat down the bartender walked over to us and asked us what we wanted to drink, «Miller Lite, please.» Okay. «Can I see you guy’s IDs?» LOL okay? We showed her our IDs. Apparently she wasn’t good at math because she stood in front of us, looking at our IDs, with a confused look on her face, it took her at least 3 minutes before she asked us how old we were… «Are you kidding me?» Was all I was thinking. «I’m 21. He is 29.» I answered, aggravated. She nodded and handed us our IDs back. My fiancé and I looked at each other and laughed. Like what? It doesn’t make sense that the bouncer would let us in, and then we get asked by a moron how old we were.(???) Anyways, six beers in we wanted to munch on appetizers. The«Cajun Fries» sounded appealing. We expected something good! Spicy with maybe some kind of special sauce, maybe cheese. Hahaha! What a joke! When we got our fries there were literally French fries with Tony Chachere’s sprinkled on top! $ 6.99 for something I could have done myself! Cajun fries? Y’all are liars! Horrible! This was the closest bar to our apartment complex, honestly we don’t know if we will ever be back. This place wasn’t what we expected.

We had been wanting to try this place. We walked in on a Saturday night. The sign at the door instructed us to «be seated». We sat at a table. The place was packed. Live music was banging. We waited for service. I used the facilities. They were clean. We waited for service. Servers/bartenders checked on people at tables near us, but no one ever acknowledged us. Left after 8 – 10 minutes without anyone so much as making eye contact. Bummer. Really wanted to have a good time there…

This place is consistent. Friendly staff, tons of tvs, great beer selection and solid kitchen. The Guiness Stew is awesome. The service here has always been slowish, almost inattentive and is the only downside.

One of of the worst experiences in terms of waiting. You can go here if you are OK with 25-min wait after you are seated for the waiter to show up, one order of drinks taking over an hour(same for an appetizer), and not getting a follow up order(mind you appetizer only) for up to 40 minutes. I couldn’t help but ask for the manager and his explanation was they had more than one 30+ parties, I was speechless. He was nice enough to offer to not charge for the appetizers but I want him to know that people go to a restaurant expecting good service, good food, and good ambiance rather than expecting a discount on their check! I am in the neighborhood and this was our first visit. Needless to say my wife and I are thoroughly disappointed and it was our last visit too considering the quality of the food and the service we received. I would’ve given less than 1 star if I could!

I’ve been going to Ned’s for years. When I first started going there the food was just«okay.» But I have to say, they have made a concerted effort to step their game up and offer a lot more good items. Four stars is probably generous, but I like the effort they make to try new things. It’s a pub… so don’t get too excited, but at least it’s a good one that keep you coming back.

I went here with some colleagues for a work event. Our group was constantly growing and shrinking as people. The our server was great. She was able to keep the tabs organized and bring drinks quickly. The food was nothing amazing but decent pub food. They had a really lively trivia game night/irish singer guy. His corky personality put a smile on everyones face. The prices were standard.

Had a very shitty experience with the bartender, Nick. Cranky, rude man!!! He doesn’t belong in the service industry that’s for sure! He actually refused to serve me due to a previous billing issue… as if that’s not expected at bars from time to time! So happy his last day is July 4th! Other than the lousy bartender, place is great. Been coming here since 2006. Management, food, customer service, ambiance, outdoor patio all great!!! Collin and Gordon are awesome!!! Check it out!

Love going to Ned’s! The staff are super friendly, especially the bar tenders! They are very welcoming. Awesome food and drink specials. Last time we went my boyfriend ordered a burger off the«specials menu.» It was stuffed with cheese and jalapeños. It was massive and gone in minutes. I would defiantly order the«Devine chips.» They are crunchy and you can add different seasonings. I like the cajan. They have a great happy hour food menu, which is packed with wings, nachos and other items that are great to share. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Needed to go to Dulles Airport to pick up a friend and had to wait for a few hours because his flight was delayed. After looking at the Green Turtle(did not stay) I found Neds and had a great couple of hours watching baseball and enjoying their extended beer selection. Especially liked that the happy hour food and drink went until 8:00pm Good solid pub food and beer, lots of large and clear TVs showing baseball, playoff hockey. I hope my friends flight is late more often.

It is what it is… An Irish Pub… As long as you don’t have high hopes you will have a good time. Don’t go there for a corporate outing, don’t go there for lunch… take some friends for a couple drinks after lunch to unwind and you will have a good time. I’ve been a couple times and the atmosphere is not spectacular, it’s an Irish pub… don’t expect to be blown away by the beautiful/quality bar top and modern drink selection. The prices aren’t bad, the service is pretty good, it’s not super packed after work until later on in the night(or so I have heard.)

Ned devines is your classic irish pub, a great spot to have some drinks and apps. It’s never as busy as it should be! I’ve been here a few times and had a couple different things off their menu and they were all outstanding! I highly recommend their spinach and artichoke dip. It’s served with the warmest, fluffiest pita bread I’ve ever had! Their pastas are all very good and filling if you’re hungrier. My friend is a huge fan of all the irish dishes but I can’t say I’m big on them myself. The dining room is HUGE both inside and outdoor seating. There’s a section with more TVs if you’re looking to watch a game, or a fancier more secluded area with booths if you’re looking to have a more intimate experience without all the bar noise. I’ve only been during colder months but I can’t wait to try the outdoor seating. On Wednesday they have trivia night and live music on other nights. All the servers or bartenders are very nice! I had Carrie the last time I went and she was a sweetheart! Checked on us often and was very nice!

I hate to rate it this way but i have to. The whole lunch was just subpar. We ordered shrimp bites, got fish bites, ordered shrimp corn dogs whichare misrepresented tempura shrimp(no corn at all), ordered more irish fries, got the regular ones, and all on all the food is subpar to begin with. This place is def not 3.5 stars, at least not the food. Don’t come here for the food… ever.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is fun, the servers are great and the managers are fantastic people. While I had been to Ned’s a long time ago, I try to get out there every time I travel to Reston for work. Even though I wouldn’t call Ned’s a quiet place, even when it gets noisy I still find I can relax here and have a good time more so than in most places. I think at the end of the day it all boils down to three things: 1. Good Food and Beer 2. Really friendly servers 3. Fun people I have gone with groups and by myself and in all cases, I’ve had a great time. I highly recommend that you give Ned’s a shot especially if you are looking for a really nice place to just relax and have a good time.

What is there to say about Ned’s? I’ve been coming here for years with friends and coworkers alike. It’s nestled in the clock tower center, close to a bunch of businesses and housing. The bar itself is set up well. There’s plenty of seating, high top tables and stools. The staff is friendly. Carl, one of the bartenders, is always nice and will chat it up with you. They also have outdoor patio seating when the weather is nice, so a huge plus. The food is nothing to write home about; it’s a pub, so better to come for the beer. Speaking of beer, they have a good selection, and great options and pricing during happy hour.

Two words: rip off. Over six dollars for a draft beer that isn’t even close to being a pint. I doubt it’s even 12 ounces.

Only been here on NFL Sundays. Crowded and packed mostly with Giants fans which isn’t bad since I can stomach them(eagles, redskins and cowboys can take a hike however). While it’s a giants bar on Sunday, they should show the other games on the other tvs they have. I’m all for supporting your team but does every tv have to be the giants game? Wouldn’t hurt to have some variety involved. Great beer specials on NFL Sunday and delicious pizza slices. I’ll be back but please show the other games(such as the Colts)! And Dallas still sucks!

New to the area, we were excited to meet our local Irish Pub. We had mediocre expectations and really would’ve been happy with a dive atmosphere that provided decent service and a relaxed dinner after a work day… Atmosphere was ok and as expected, relaxed dive vibe in the patio. The crowd was an after 5 crew mostly, a few regular-seeming folks here and there still clad in the kitchen/serving gear of other dinning establishments– usually a good sign. We remained optimistic. Our server appears, he is a young guy he is smiling. We are still doing ok… Seems friendly… I order a sangria from the«Irish Time»(read happy hour) menu, I state«I’ll try your $ 4 sangria» he says«red or white?» I’m stoked because red is my favorite and I thought they only offered white. He peeks over at my menu and says«oh, we only have white.» We laugh it off. Orders are placed. We order chips and salsa as an appetizer because I’m starving from the commute… Drinks take awhile… Who cares, we are less than 2 miles from home, this is our new dive, we are going to love it come hell or high water — I think and remain optimistic. Food comes out in the arms of a server who was not our server & it’s all there– all. The chips and salsa appetizer and the entrees. I say no biggie; just leave the entrees and not the appetizer and have the manager wipe it off our check–«throw it in the employee break room and chow down»… The usual. «Oh and I ordered another sangria awhile ago…» We chow down, food as expected. Edible, decent. We are still in high spirits… Wait, we have no silverware-no napkins– no ketchup… I approach the host stand… «Hi, we need above referenced items» thanks.”… I’m friendly but not happy… Server brings items & the MIA sangria… He says«(other sever’s name) said all the food came out at once. Sorry about that.» I say, «that’s ok just take them off the check, we sent them back». He says, «yeah, that’s ok, I’ll just pay for them.» Pfffft. Really? Now we are catching a guilt trip? I say«I bet if you tell the manager, they can comp them.» He says«no, he’s really strict about that, but it’s ok, I will but them»…Now we feel awkward… Finish eating. Sit… and wait. And wait… Husband goes ahead to car. I approach host stand & ask for check.(Server is standing there) Server goes to get check. The host tells me it’s server’s first week and the manager«likes everyone to make good money, so he gives big sections». I say, «I am not even mad, just thinking they could do better»… Kid says it’s his first time hosting– I say«in the future, you should try to snag a manager when stuff goes repeatedly wrong»… Check is brought. I leave a $ 5 tip, just shy of 20%… Worry about the kind of work ethic they are modeling for these kids –And state we won’t be back… Save yourself the trip unless your in the market for a slowly served beer and game gazing with sub par service and absentee management staff.

They have fun bands come through, but the $ 10 cover charge starting at 8 pm is a little steep for the area. Either lower the price or delay the cover time to 9PM.

Hold your breathe as you walk in because the god awful smell of cigarettes wafts past you then punches you in the face. Maybe it’s the outdoor patio? Seems they do not allow smoking in the establishment but somehow the inside still reeks of it, perhaps they need to try that smoke killing paint because they use to be a smoking bar back in the day. Seriously I think it’s disgusting and makes me never want to return even though i very much enjoyed sitting in the corner by the fireplace sipping on a jack and coke(once I got use to smell and decided to stop whining about it) with some awesome company. The food is alright, we tried the half off ribeye(usually $ 30 but on Sundays all the steaks are 50% off) and it wasn’t awful, actually flavorful though maybe a little tough even though it was prepared medium rare. But it is NOT a thirty dollar steak… The French fries were tasty and the veggies fresh. Also tried their buffalo wings and they have some kick but nothing unique really, just typical bar food. There was a few items on the menu that seemed unique to the establishment but the prices are a bit high for appetizers in bar/pub. I dont think I’d be telling people lets go here… Not when there are so many other establishments with better food at better prices. Taking me to my next disappointment, the prices of the drinks are a bit outrageous, seems like they have some nice happy hour specials but that’s for crap beers and aristocrat mixed disgustingness. I asked for a mixed drink and instead of charging me for the drink, I was charged separately as if I was getting shots. *shakes head disapprovingly* I don’t need my wallet raped in Herndon, I go to dc for that! If you’re going to poison your body, might as well poison it with the best is my motto. The overall atmosphere is quite nice once you get past the smell, people are friendly, the employees well mannered and attentive, and plenty of tvs on the walls to watch whatever game you want to watch. This place is huge! There looks to be 3 separate bar areas with the middle one being the biggest and boasting a really sweet stage setup for the many musical events they have posted on little postcards for your convenience and return. I’d prolly want to return just for the music, but not in its current state, not with the smell, pricey booze and mediocre food.
