Food is great, my issue is the service. I ordered my food online and I walk in and they haven’t started my order at all or put it into their order queue. Instead of apologizing for the delay and fixing the situation. I get, «please don’t use the website ordering service». In addition she tells me the yuca that I paid for, I can only get one vs two as a side. After I told her ok, just give me my $ 1 back, she says it’s ok I’ll just fill it. I’m unsure of why she didn’t just offer that solution first. It almost seemed like the cashier was blaming their website problems on me. Due to having to wait over 15+ minutes for my food(again), I was late for a meeting… **KUDOS to the manager for appologizing in behalf of the employee and I informed her what happened. I appreciated her apologizing but see the update below… **UPDATE: When I got back to the office, I didn’t get my double order of yuca…

Decent spot to hit up when passing through the area. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here, but you can count on consistently good food. Service was quick and nice. No complaints.

Wow! The food here is legit! Never been here before and ordered #7 which was ¼ chicken(dark meat) with yucca, chaufa rice and coleslaw and it was soooo good! The only thing I would change is get the half chicken next time as it was not enough meat for me, but maybe I was just very hungry. Everything was great, the chicken was super flavorful and moist, the yucca was crunchy and creamy, and the rice was full of flavor as well. I also got Tres Leches cake and I thought it was really good as well. If you come here with someone just order the whole chicken and split it, it seems like the best deal for $ 16.50 and comes with sides. I will return here many times to get some more of this delicious food!

Really good food, tried the chicken Grande burrito, plantains and Mexican rice. Chicken was well seasoned and had a nice char taste from the grill. Husband liked the rotisserie chicken and Mexican fried rice. I will definitely order takeout again… Near future. **Update** I tried. I really did. I refuse to order take out better yet anything from Guapos as its difficult to get a complete order. My first review I left out they forgot my order of plantains, luckily I checked my food in the car before I drove home. Second time I ordered take out my husband wanted a steak burritos with no beans. So I ordered a chicken burrito with black beans and a steak burrito no beans. Thought the order was correct considering I ensured the order was correct over the phone. Once I arrived I also asked the cashier to repeat the order before I paid(I also verified the receipt) I arrive home in Ashburn, started eating and my husband notice his steak burrito had black beans. I tasted my chicken burritos and guess what. It had no beans! Soo I asked for the steak burritos with no beans and chicken burrito with black beans and received the complete opposite. Third and Last attempt– I called in advance for take out, this time husband wanted to try the chicken burrito. I ordered over the phone two chicken burritos, one chicken burrito without beans, one chicken burrito with black beans. I arrive at Guapos, asked the cashier to repeat the order.” Two chicken burritos with black bean” seriously??? Really???Did I not repeat a million times over the phone(considering they messed up my order last time) so now I’m upset. Calm but upset. So I tell the cashier please one chicken burrito no beans, another chicken burrito with black beans. Okay she gets the order correct, so I pay. She leaves the front to check if the burritos were made with beans, she comes back to ask if I would like black beans on the side. Are you kidding me? At this time a line was forming and people were starting the notice so I politely say«can I have black beans on one of the chicken burritos.» I really had high hopes for this place but I refuse to continue to eat at a place that can’t take a simple order as no black beans on a burrito!!! The first time, they forgot my plantains, second time they gave me black beans on a steak burrito and No beans on a chicken burrito. Third time I spent over 10mins trying to get my order correct(mind you I called in advance) before I drove home! I am reducing my stars because I was fair to this restaurant, I didn’t order once and reported poor service(even though they forgot my plantains) I ordered three times and each time the order was incorrect. I refuse to frequent a restaurant that can’t get an order as simple as chicken or steak burrito no beans correct.

Great spot for lunch. They offer a wide variety of combination meals, but I usually stick with their delicious rotisserie chicken, yucca fries, and side salad. I’ve also tried their ground beef crispy taco platter and was not disappointed. Definitely a great value for your money. Service is fast and efficient. Try their yellow/mild and house sauces!

Great food and flavorful chicken. The whole chicken is a little pricey(around $ 15) but worth it. It lasts a whole week. The chaufa rice is also fantastic. My only gripe with this place is the service. If you ask for a salad without some fixings prepare to be disappointed

The food is always fresh and delicious here. The beef tacos are seasoned perfectly and the rotisserie chicken is tender. If you are looking for a place which has ample portions and loads of value for your money, this is one of the best. The staff is also very friendly and the service is fast.

Located in a strip mall. Is almost a fast food business. You order then sit and wait for the food to be served. Tasty Mexican fare. Reasonable prices.

Still 5 stars. However, they don’t seem to give the jalapeño sauce automatically anymore. Make sure to ask for it!

I’ve never been in the restaurant so I can’t comment on that, but my office gets lunch catered in from here when we have large meetings. They do a great job! We get the mix/sampler type of spread that has ribs, bbq chicken and fajita meats. Of course, beans and rice, pico and wrappers too. It’s always well received and one of the more popular places we use. They do a fantastic job with the meat, very tender and flavorful.

Very impressed with the kind staff… I forgot to ask for some chips and salsa after I paid for my order and was very happy to pay for them but this nice woman at the register said don’t worry I’ll get you some — no charge. All the varieties of the hot sauces for the chicken(also good on the yucca fries) are delicious.

Though Guapo’s is known for its rotisserie chicken(look around — it’s what ALL the regulars are eating!), I thought the chicken was just OK. What will keep me coming back, though, are the steak fajitas! Holy yum! I will readily make the trip from Arlington to dine here again.

Meets all the criteria – fast, delicious, reasonably priced and no need to pay for services. If you see complains about noisy kids or loud customers, you know those are from idiots who spend 5 dollars and think they deserve 5-star treatment.

My favorite rotisserie chicken place in the area. This is the only place I have found that does the yucca like French fries rather than like sticks of card board. The place is self seating and may get crowed during the lunch time rush. You can see and smell the chicken roasting over charcoal. They have a small fixing area for salad dressing, ketchup… etc but my favorite is the jalapeños. Add it to the side salad with some pulled chicken and it takes it to a whole new level.

Heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try on a Thurday night for dinner. I was craving a quick, delicious, and budget friendly meal. Once you walk-in, you’re immediately hit with the smell of juicy chicken. The smell will make you immediately want to dive right into your meal. I ordered a ½ chicken with a side of rice and yucca fries(roughly around $ 10 — $ 11) and service gave plenty of the green/hot sauce. LOVELOVELOVE that their yellow/homemade sauce is made available to customers. No need to hassle the workers to request additional containers of the yellow sauce or to pay extra for them. From the yucca fries to the chicken, I was in complete satisfaction with the place. I think the chicken might be a bit smaller than what I’m used to, but considering I was able to take ¼ of it home, it wasn’t a big deal. It helps that I eat in smaller portions, but if you have a big appetite, then I’m not sure ¼ chicken is enough to satisfy to your heart’s content. I would gladly come back again!

Definitely overrated. The meat was extremely dry and the rice was average. The yucca fries were the best part of the meal, but they weren’t that great either. I’m used to eating yucca fries that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, but this tasted just very fried. The passion fruit juice was yummy, but I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon to try it again.

First time here, was pretty impressed. Chicken was cool nice seasonings etc. yucca was good and crispy and delicious. Today however. I have decided I will not come back here. I enjoy chicken Ricco and couldn’t quiet decide between the two. After today Chicken Ricco will be the only place I go to for rotisserie chicken. I’m so disappointed in my food today. Chicken was just okay but some parts looked bit questionable. Also my salad was wilted and old. And yucca was also not a crispy as before. Ugh! Not to mention I got only 4 sad pieces of yucca on my plate. I’ll pass on here next time. There is better options!

I work in the Dulles area, so Guapo’s is in my rotation of lunch spots. It’s quick, affordable, filling, and tasty. They have a wide variety of food options, but I usually go for the quarter chicken with two sides. which sets me back around $ 7 after tax. Their chicken is well seasoned and never dry. I’ve also tried their pupusas, which may not be the best pupusas out there, but I don’t think they’re horrible. Service is friendly. If you eat there then they bring the food out to your table. They also serve alcohol, which is always a plus. Who doesn’t like coming back to work with a nice buzz? My one complaint would be how stingy they are with the«hot» sauce. Yes, that green sauce that everyone loves! If you’re getting your meal to go… you have to remember to ask them for it; otherwise, you get nada. Once you do ask, they give you one measly little container of it.

We hadn’t been to Guapo’s in years. However, yesterday’s bad weather had us wanting to stay close to home. As we went through all the dinner possibilities, Guapo’s came to mind. We were here on a Sunday around 5 p.m. and were surprised to see how busy it was already. There was a line for ordering which had a few people waiting. While we were waiting, they opened a second line which made things move faster. We both decided to order the #7 combo. This combo consists of ¼ rotisserie chicken, chaufa rice, fried potatoes(yucca can be substituted for 40 cents extra) and coleslaw. Both of us asked for white meat. The combo also comes with a soda. The 2 combos cost $ 22 + change. We were given a number to put on our table plus we got 2 glasses for soda. The seating is odd — for the most part it’s tables for six. Still, we we easily found a spot to sit and ended up having a whole table for ourselves. Soda is self serve and is Coke products. It didn’t take long before our food was ready. As we were about to dig in, I noticed that one dish had dark meat on it. My husband said he would eat it even though I was willing to mention the mistake to the staff. As for the food — the white meat chicken was dried out but the skin had nice flavor. The dark meat was moist. After having tried other pollo a la brasa spots, I must say that I’ve had more flavorful chicken. We both thought that the chaufa rice was the best thing on the plate. Chaufa rice has a of a mix of Peruvian and Chinese cuisine. It basically consists of fried rice, green onions, bean sprouts, eggs, soy sauce and oil. The flavors were great and we could clearly taste the influence of both cuisines. I said to my husband that I could have made a meal of this alone! The fried potatoes were basically thick fries which were lukewarm, bland and dried out. The coleslaw was a pleasant surprise. It had a mayo based dressing but it wasn’t overdressed and while run-of-the-mill, it still had good flavor. While Guapo’s won’t be our first choice when we want pollo a la brasa, we would still consider going again in the future — and I will be sure to have some chaufa rice!
