Fins and Grill

Food is good. Service was off on my last visit but the time before quite good. Sushi is good but hard to compare to my favorite place in Memphis (Sakura). I got the Bento Box lunch special. Plenty of food to fill you up!

Where to start, service would be a great place. Surrounded by 16 – 18 year olds who are more interested in their social calendars than actually earning a tip. But, why would they work any harder to earn a tip when there’s an automatic 18% tip included in your habatchi bill. Here’s when you hear the words from the Wizard of Oz telling you to ignore the person behind the curtain. That’s because, behind the curtain is your waitress banging away in her iphone instead of earning her share of the tip, that is what? Oh, AUTOMATIC!
Now let’s move to the food for a bit… The sushi can be the best or it can be brown and bland bordering in inedible. The habatchi side seems to be up and down as well with portioning problems. The actual food prep/​show is also lacking, if you blink you missed it all. Once the chef starts, it’s all over in about five minutes. While I don’t go for the show personally, I can see where those coming expecting a special night out are going to be very disappointed. Once the chef is done out come the checks and there went your last chance for anything else.

(Revisit)
After several bad attempts, they seem to finally be turning the corner for the better. The management is more attentive and while the staff isn’t always on the ball the turn over seems to be improving. I have quit eating the habatchi and started eating the rolls and things have improved. I actually find myself wanting to go here finally. I’ll hold out for another star but they are earning it each visit now.

I love this place. Not much japanese places around this area but that doesnt take away from the great food and service.
Hibachi is always tasty and cooked well. Sushi selection is wide and comes in all varieties. Also SOOO fresh.
Inside is very big and roomy. Bar area is great. Sports always on. Honestly, this how the modern hibachi/​sushi experience should be.
Also i heard they are now serving crepes!!!

Not sure what happened with the other reviews, but this place is really good. Drinks were great and the food was awesome as well, even when busy.

Great Service! Wonderful food and the sweetest waitress Madison! we had the Hibachi and sushi. My bottomless pit son couldn’t eat it all! They even had had chicken nuggets for my little guy. Celebrated a friends birthday.
