What a wonderful family owned establishment! First off, the owners are the nicest people ever. Very cheery and helpful. Terrific, quality food with fresh ingredients at a more than affordable price. You can feast for under $ 10… can’t hate that. I wouldn’t say it’s the best food I’ve ever had, but very good and healthy, especially for a casual, quick meal. A great option if your fridge is empty and you want a home cooked meal. Can’t reiterate enough how nice the family is. It always feels good to support local operations!

Very tasty tikka masala! It comes with a lot of food! My only suggestion is having a little more sauce to dip my naan in! The owner/chef was very nice and made my dinner a little more spicy than it comes per my request. Yumm!

I work in the building and would order food every so often. The owner and the staff were super friendly, reflected in the amazing food — and that’s an understatement! The food is phenomenal! The location has since been closed, and it saddens me. I hope they reopen in a more optimal location, with actual seating and a true restaurant setting — the food and the chef deserve it! I look forward to experiencing the marvelous food again!

CLOSEDPERMANENTLY. Visiting in the area and chose this place for dinner with a group of coworkers. After searching for it we asked the fitness club in the mall and they told us it closed down 2 weeks ago. How sad, food sounded yummy, I wonder what happened?

We went here based on the Unilocal reviews. Parking isn’t ideal, since it’s right on the busy PCH and you have to really pay attention to find it. I have to say, I was a little surprised when we went in – atmosphere is like a mall counter, which is fine but I’m accustomed to something different. Anyway, we had the Chicken Tikka Masala, served in a styrofoam container. The chicken was tender enough, the spice level was low(which we asked for), and overall it was a pleasant dining experience. Extra points for the mango salad dressing – amazing! I’d give 5 stars just for that. While we were there, three of Redondo’s finest came in to dine. We thought the service was friendly, if not slightly reserved up to that point, but when they arrived, the owner really perked up!

I cam here on a Saturday evening, and it was pretty quiet, it is located in a modern indoor strip mall. Parking was a breeze, just park in the structure no validation required. The menu is indian with a twist of American, I order the masala ravioli, it came with a side salad with mango dressing, and veggies. The food was extremely delicious, a perfect fusion between American and Indian. The food was very healthy, and the staff was EXTREMELY friendly. It appeared to be family owned, and the owners were extremely attentive to our needs and likes of the food. I would definitely come here again and taste of the other items on the menu. My friends and I all ordered different types of food and they all LOVED their dishes.

Yummy and cost efficient. It seems as though they are still getting the hang of things, construction going on, training employees… Get street parking if possible so you don’t have to deal with the structure… Also not time efficient, best to all in your order

I order from here at least twice a week when I am in LA. The chicken tikka masala is to die for. This is my favorite chicken tikka masala in the US. It is absolutely delicious and a great value — for under $ 10. I also really enjoy the veggie/spinach/broccoli as well as the spicy lamb. I’ve had the mango/yogurt shake and that is delicious as well. The owner is very friendly and down to earth. The food here is consistent. I would highly recommend trying the Chicken Tikka Masala — just once, and you’ll be hooked! I love Turmeric and it is without a doubt my favorite Indian place when I am in LA.

Let my start by saying that for the money, this place is exceptional. Pretty hard to find an Indian meal for under $ 10 that is decent, and that’s just what this place is — decent. I haven’t been particularly excited about their curries, naan or rice, but if you’re looking for cheap indian it’s not bad. It’s also great that they deliver, and that the folks that own the place really very genuinely nice people. It’s really hard to give them more than 3 stars, however, because at the same prices I could hit up a cheap local Indian buffet, and in most cases the curries will be better and more abundant.

Fast food indian food? I’m okay with that. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it is inexpensive and fast. So if you’re in the mood for indian food and you are too picky on it being 5 stars then this place isn’t too shabby. The owner was very friendly and helpful in recommendations. Vegetable Korma!!! Y.U.M! Spent about $ 8.50 per person. It was not easy to find though and google maps sent us in the wrong direction. It’s in a building that also has a 24hr fitness. Park in the garage and get your ticket validated. Short distance from the Hermosa Beach Pier.

Been to turmeric twice so far and both times the food was amazing and the prices are awesome! The only complaint I have is that it takes forever to get my food. I would have let it go if it was only once but it was both times and they were not busy. I was there 2 days ago and my friend and I ordered a burrito and a sandwich. We checked the time on the receipt and how long it took us to get our to go order and it was 35 minutes. There were 2 other customers that came in and ordered after us and they got their orders BEFORE us! How does that even happen? They werent online orders either. The girl at the counter is so sweet but we were obviously in a hurry and we were waiting for our last item — some naan bread which she in the middle of cutting — and she stopped what she was doing to talk with another customer for a couple minutes about something on the menu. I don’t know how I could have made it more obvious that we needed to go, I was standing at the counter staring at her. It bums me out because I really liked their food — they just don’t seem very attentive to people’s needs. My friend and I weren’t rude at all, we were just in a hurry and I couldn’t believe that they weren’t busy and it took that long. I don’t think I will be going back :(

I don’t want to write«warning,» because that seems kind of scary, but just an FYI. This is not really a sit down place. There are seats, yes, but it’s more of a take out place with very limited seating right next to a 24 Hour Fitness in a strip mall plaza. It’s a glass walls, 2 seater table type of deal. That being said, the food is great. I had a cauliflower and spinach«casserole,» but it resembled the creamy spinach from saag paneer. It kind of was like saag paneer without the cheese and cauliflower instead. The meal came with a salad, fragrant flower dressing, and steamed veggies. A lot of food, all of it delicious. Bf had the chicken tikka masala. Same deal with the sides. They did not skimp on the chicken and the sauce was a little bit creamier that other places, but also delicious. The owners(I am guessing) were super nice and came out to check on us. It wasn’t even perfunctory, because after we said great/fine/whatever you normally say, the guy pointed out that my bf hadn’t tried his dish. They do care! It’s the little things really. Like the food. Like the people. Would definitely come back.

Ate here when I was visiting Hermosa and I felt like getting some Indian food. I’ll start this off by saying that I eat Indian food, but not all the time. That being said, I really liked this place. This is more of an Indian fusion because they serve Indian burritos and Indian pizza. I ordered the Tikka Masala meal and an Indian pizza. The price was cheap and the food was delicious. Also, I really loved the green sauce, which you can get more of for free if you run out. Overall the meal was great and I recommend eating here.

I stopped by Turmeric today, and I’m pleased to announce that it did not disappoint. This is exactly the kind of place that I love: a small, mom-and-pop-type shop with great food at good prices. Turmeric is a little different than most of these, however… the couple that run it aren’t exactly«elderly,» and their food isn’t exactly traditional. Rather, it’s innovative to a certain extent… kind of a healthy take on Indian food that is, quite honestly, brilliant. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a healthy meal quite as much as I enjoyed this one in a –long– time. I found myself eating the vegetables because I actually liked the way they tasted, as opposed to the usual guilt monologue in the back of my head. By clever use of subtle(and sometimes aggressive) spicing technique, Turmeric is able to break that cycle of food that is either high in fat or sugar – the spices are what make up the flavors here. The prices are low for ten years ago – the highest price that I saw was $ 6.49 for a few of the plate meals. The portion sizes are just right – they just about fill up one of those standard, three-compartment clamshell containers. My meal of mango(something) chicken actually had six components to it: salad with an interesting dressing, garlic(?) naan bread, basmati rice, lentils, steamed vegetables, and the chicken itself. For that price, it’s a lot of flavor… in fact, I would actually feel better if they were to charge a little more, just so I could rest assured that they’ll be around for a few years. It isn’t the fanciest place, and the location is a little difficult to spot. Basically, there’s a large building covered in mirrors close to the Von’s shopping center on Pier Avenue and PCH(the one that says«Brix Wine» and that houses the 24-hour Fitness) – it’s located in the lobby, most easily accessed from the side facing PCH. I recommend parking in the Von’s shopping center then walking over, if you don’t feel like dealing with the underground parking. Also, I recommend you acquaint yourself with their hours(I think they’re posted here somewhere…). This is one of those places that closes between lunch and dinner, so don’t waste your time trying to get in at 4:00PM like I did. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. The couple that own it are wonderful, and I really think that they’re on to something good here :)

Tumeric is a new small and limited Indian Fusion Food café located inside of the Hermosa Pavilion mall on Aviation where 24 Hr fitness and CJ Grand Spa is in. They have delicious stuff! Their menu is very limited. We tried their chicken tikka masala — Very tasty Okra, — very tasty lentils, — very tasty Mango Saffron Chicken– a bit bland but not bad Each entrée comes with veggies, basmati rice, salad and small naan. Mango Lassi is delicious(Mango yogurt drink) Their food are delicious, spice, and good portion. Their dishes are from $ 7-$ 10, pretty affordable. They’re a bit slow, so make sure you have a few extra minutes to wait for your food when they prepare it. They have panini, pizzas, with Indian cuisine ingredients. It’s obvious a mom and pop, a hole in the wall place, but definitely worth it!

After a relaxing afternoon at CJ Grand Spa, Phillip N. and I were walking out of the shopping center with the intent to get dinner down the street. We were almost out the door when we walked past Turmeric. Maybe it was the yummy smells that lured us in. When the lady greeted us, I asked her about the Vegan Plate. She asked me if I like okra. I haven’t had it in a while but, sure. Then she said«I can make you an Okra Masala.» That sounds good. Why not! I got all of this for less than $ 6: Okra Masala, lentils, veggies, basmati rice and salad. Everything was super tasty and super flavorful! It even came with naan. Usually I skip the naan but she told me that their naan is vegan. Phillip and I also shared a side of Sautéed Mushrooms. I love mushrooms and this place does not disappoint. My only issue with this place is that even though Phillip and I dined in, we still got our food served to us in styrofoam to-go containers. There is one thing on the menu that caught our interest: Curried Oatmeal. It was explained as a savory taste. I’d like to go back and check it out.

We just had our first meal – but definitely not our last! – at Tumeric. I took it to go, because of Game 4 of the NBA finals(go OKC!). I asked what was faster, the very nice guy said chicken tikka masala, which I wanted to taste anyway. I asked him what else we should try, for our first meal, and he suggested fish masala. Perfect, want more fish in the diet. I hopped on the wireless and busily passed the time. Maybe it was 15 min, maybe a little less. I also ordered 2 mango lassis, which were blended to order, not just poured out of a plastic jug. Made it home by mid 2nd quarter, and WOW! Great dinner! The chicken tikka masala was tasty as well as fresh, moist and light(instead of heavy and creamy). But the fish! NOT the same sauce even though the word masala is used(just so you know) — tasty, spicy but not hot, fish was moist and tender, and no bones. The food is SO good, and good for you, the people are very nice, we will come back often. Give Tumeric a try!

Tonight was the second visit to Turmeric for my wife and I and we are fast finding a place in our hearts(and bellies) for this charming young establishment Located in a relatively new shopping center the restaurant does not enjoy much exposure which is very unfortunate, both for the business and for all the people not getting to try the delicious Indian fare and fun fusion dishes Turmeric offers. On our first visit I stuck with the typical Chicken Tikka Masala which was well-spiced, rich and full of tomato goodness, just the way I like it, and my wife had the Vegan plate with selections from their several vegan offerings. The meal was very reasonably priced, came with tasty sides, and was absolutely delicious. The owners and staff would often check on us, being friendly and making sure everything was to our liking and we found them very charming and considerate. On our visit today I decided to go with the Tandoori pizza and my wife had another Vegan plate with other selections and half a Spinach Pizza(with the cheese). We were both turned to ravenous beasts and soon our food had disappeared(and the portions are generous, mind you). Again we chatted with the manager and interacted with staff and had a very enjoyable time. We’ve already decided that the next time we’re in the area we will be making this our destination again and I’m leaning towards trying one of the burrito preparations then. perhaps even with one of their smoothies. Everyone should give Turmeric a try and help this wonderful eatery thrive. Eat in, take out, or get delivery, just give them a try and you will love it.

If you live in the South Bay and you ever eat Indian food, go here and go here NOW! This is a great, tasty, and, on top of it all, friendly place in the same center that 24hr fitness is in. Apparently they’ve been open for a few months now… shows how much I go to the gym! Normally businesses here don’t make it, but the people running this place totally deserve to have it be a success. Help them and help yourself to tasty food. The food is probably the best Indian food you can get in the south bay for under 10 dollars. This bears repeating… UNDER10DOLLARS, some as low as $ 6 or $ 7. I had the chicken tiki masala. It came with rice, lentils, veggies(really flavorful), salad, and some naan. Really tasty and really filling. Gonna have the rest for lunch tomorrow. On top of the great food, its run by this man and woman who are SO friendly. The man and I talked for a little while and in the course of conversation I told him I’m a student. When it came time to pay for the food he gave me a student discount and told me to keep doing good work. How nice is that?! Seriously go. Leave now. Get yourself some curry, you won’t regret it.
