We had such great food at Fritto Misto many years ago that we decided to revisit the place. What we had at lunch : Complimentary bread — Very good Misto salad — Just okay. I remembered it being more flavorful. Pasta Fresca — Spinach linguini with lemon cream sauce. Very light and tasty! Recommend! Flourless chocolate cake — Very good. I am not the biggest chocolate fan but ended up ordering this since they were out of their tiramisu. I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed it. But if I had to pick one, I would say go for the tiramisu or babymisu! Come here for some amazing vegetarian pastas and desserts.

Everything is great! Especially the walnut & gorgonzola salad and the chicken piccata, the chicken is not fried or breaded and it is smothered in sauce. Yummm.

My sons and I had a great experience here. The owner approached us in a friendly way and seated us quickly. We had a short conversation about all the unique wines they offer, and our food was excellent. Exactly what you want in a casual Italian place. Friendly atmosphere, good food, good wine.

I was highly disappointed with the overall experience. I went for an early lunch. The weather was rather in-climate and I was wearing sweats and a sweatshirt. From the moment I walked in, the waitress gave me a terrible look. She gave me the menu. She didn’t offer to tell me the Specials of The Day and when my pasta dish arrived, she did not offer me freshly cracked pepper. The Waitress did however offer the gentleman sitting across from me The Specials Of The Day and when he received his pasta, she offered Freshly Cracked Pepper. It was obvious what was happening. As far as the food goes, it was bland. The carbonara sauce I ordered was not carbonara. It was basically a Plain Alfredo sauce. This place lost an LA Native and Pasta Lover because of there incompetence, negligence and discriminating service. Buon Appetito, Arthur A.

It’s 6 in the morning as I’m writing this review because my husband hasn’t slept at all due to the diarrhea he’s been having all night. We know it’s because of our dinner at this restaurant because he didn’t eat anything all day yesterday other than breakfast that we know was fine. I was going to write a review for this place later but since we are all up right now, I might as well do it now. The service was poor, the waitress didn’t tell us about the special of the day which we overheard from the next table. She forgot to bring us water and the garlic spread we asked for, and never once asked how we are doing or how the food is. The busboy was nicer to us than her. Now for the food, maybe it is how it it is suppose to be like the waitress said, but my chicken Marsala was bitter like someone dumped a whole bottle in there. I’m a wine drinker so it’s not even that I’m not used to the taste of wine. My husband built his own pasta with fusilli, pink sauce, sausage, and broccoli. It tasted ok, nothing out of this world other than the massive diarrhea he’s been having all night. Will not be returning. Edit: so far I myself have also vomited and had diarrhea. Thanks fritto misto.

Came here with my boyfriend and pops for my birthday dinner. The food was amazinnnnggggg literally the best Italian we had ever had(we all agreed) the jumbo ravioli and the Cajun pasta were so unique, flavorful and filling. Then once we could barely stand, they brought us a complimentary chocolate cake, so I HAD to stay ;) Overall great food, wine, good service and a nice, not TO fancy atmosphere! Def coming back!

It’s easy to notice this place. Maybe through sight? Seeing many people wait at the front area for a table. A sight from the outside looking into a place that seems a bit rustic, yet clean and modern. Or maybe through smell? As we walked past the little alley adjacent to the restaurant, it smelled so good. We headed here after a bit of wine-tasting nearby. We were seated fairly quickly. Our wait was not very long at all. About a minute. We were lucky. Expect a bit longer wait in other cases. Food was delicious. Perhaps we were still full from all the Thanksgiving feasting from the rest of that particular weekend, but I was absolutely stuffed, and I’m generally the big eater among my social circles. Prices were reasonable. Service was very courteous. The only thing I’d think twice about is the Fried Pillows appetizer. It tastes really good, and there’s a fun part of eating it when the hot cheese spews out of it upon bite. However, they look like Totino’s pizza rolls. I suppose if you get over the initial sight of them, you will absolutely enjoy them. Parking requires a bit of attention. There’s some parking alongside that street where it’s located, but there’s also space into the residential area for free. The more willingness to walk, the more likely it’ll be free to park.

I had been looking for a great«local» eatery that would be able to provide food for a party of 15 at my home. Even after living in the area for years, I had somehow not tried Fritto Misto. My neighbor came to us with high recommendations. We tried them and ordered several large dishes. We were not disappointed. We ordered Fried pillows Pasta pancetta Jumbo ravioli Mushroom Marsala ravioli Italian sausage and peppers and Pasta puttanesca. I had my work colleagues who all came from the Hollywood area and everything was a hit, especially the jumbo ravioli. I did not talk about the service but it was very good. Very happy with the order. Will do it again! Thumbs Up!

This place is ridiculously good! The food is authentic Italian and the ambiance is nice. The location is walking distance from the Hermosa Beach pier, so the area is a little crowded, but worth it. I had the 2 color Linguine with Shrimp, and it is amazing. We drive over an hour just to eat here. It is so worth the drive. If you are anywhere near Hermosa Beach, you have to try Fritto Misto.

I LOOOOVE Italian food. There is not one aspect of the cuisine I don’t like, unless, it’s poorly done. Fritto Misto does NOT disappoint. I’ve frequented both the Santa Monica and Hermosa Beach stores and brought plenty of hungry guests to each location. They were both absolutely fantastic! Over the years, I’ve ordered dozens of their delicious dishes. Though I’ve never tasted an entrée I did not care for, I have formed some favorites. For a starter, their pillows appetizer is a must along with their Caprese salad. For the main dish, I would suggest spicy shrimp ravioli and pasta pancetta. Both are soo good. For dessert, you have to try their GIANT lemon bar with short bread crust. It’s to die for! Aside from their food, service is really efficient. All of the servers are very helpful and polite. Love this place!

Best pasta dishes in LA Had the gnocchi with pink sauce. It was outstanding and had great flavor. The gnocchi was so fresh and the fresh bread on the side is amazing and perfect for their sauce. We also had the tiramisu to share and of course it was amazing and a great portion size.

I am not a big fan of Italian food, but Fritto Misto is great! Pasta taste fresh and you have so many options to create your own. The Pink Sauce is my favorite. Best part about this place is its affordable. My go to order is the spicy lobster ravioli sub for pink sauce obv. 5 stars *Edit* The Chipotle Cream is my new favorite sauce. Very creamy and the perfect amount of spice. Must try!

Okay… I hope I don’t get stabbed for this, but I thought Fritto Misto was just aight. My hubby and I met up with some friends there for dinner a couple of weeks ago, and I can’t say that I’m going to sweat Fritto Misto like everyone else is. Maybe I got the wrong dish. We just got some fettuccine Alfredo, which is pretty basic, but their sauce wasn’t that great. It was just okay… that’s what I get for letting my hubby order. Hahaha My friend’s ravioli was good, so maybe the next time I go, I’ll try a ravioli. We had a bottle of wine Whig was nice, and the ambiance of the restaurant is more fun and lively, versus quiet and romantic. I definitely would come back with a group, but not necessarily for a date. We were kind of yelling throughout the dinner. In short, I love Italian food, but in still on the hunt for my Italian go-to in the Southbay. I’ll update this review if we go back to Fritti Misto.

A long overdue review for this place. I have been here several times now as I work nearby. I’ve ordered several things here that are not limited to the following: **MYORDERS** a. Bolognesa — this definitely was not as good as when I had it in Santa Anna in Spain, but this is a pretty amazing nonetheless. b. Chicken Ravioli in Cilantro Cream — At first taste, this is just a bland chicken ravioli, but when the cilantro cream sauce kicks in, this turns into a little bite of heaven in your mouth leaving you wanting more. c. Cajun Spicy Chicken with Fettucini — This was just spicy, southern and Italian and amazing. I have no words to describe it except«TRYIT, SERIOUSLY!» Very close the Hermosa Pier, this would be an ideal location to catch up with a friend, or even for bringing a date here, and the follow it up with a walk down to Hermosa Pier. It would surely make it a memorable moment. **SECRETMENU** Well this isn’t REALLY a secret menu item, but when they bring out the bread, ask for the«AWESOMESTUFF.» Apparently I invited this item on the secret menu as well as the secret menu itself. But in reality, it just makes the beautiful waitress there smile and she will bring out some fresh garlic, balsamic vinaigrette and extra virgin olive oil. Mix these up and it makes a pretty good dip for the bread.

We used to love this place and it was a neighborhood go-to when we needed to entertain out of town guests. Unfortunately, a few things have changed and it’s not the same place for us. The menu has gotten eclectic. I’m all for trying new things — I’m a very adventurous eater and traveler — but the southern pasta fushion options just don’t sound very appealing. If I wanted southern, I’d visit the restaurant down the block. I find myself ordering the same ONE dish(jumbo ravioli — best tasting entrée on the menu) each time and you can see how that gets boring fast. Sigh. Prices have increased and portions seem to be a tad smaller than years past. Given the new options in Hermosa, we find ourselves frequenting other establishments. Is it hot in here or what? Turn on the A/C please!

Fritto Misto… Nom. Nom. Nom. Unfortunately my favorite item is a special and they don’t have it on their everyday menu. Sometimes I call and ask if they have it then decide if I’m going there. Lol. My fave dish is their lobster ravioli with salmon or shrimp on top in pink sauce. It is so so YUM! I just wish it was on their menu full time. My other recommendation is the vegetarian lasagna. I’ve been here quite a few times and the staff is always so so pleasant. Which is why I bring my clients here for lunch meetings. :) The place is quaint so it does fill up really quickly.

Great décor and a great server made for a great first impression. I had the pillows checca, which was a-ok. The pillows were good but a little too al dente for me. The tomatoes and basil were fine, just a little basic and didn’t have the ‘wow’ factor I was expecting. My friend had the pumpkin and also the sweet potato ravioli — she ordered the pumpkin but they were running out so they gave her a mix. She preferred the pumpkin, but said that both were tasty. There’s nothing wrong here, but we weren’t overly impressed either.

I’ve been hearing great things about Fritto Misto for the last few years, I was looking forward to finally trying it. They have the option to create your own pasta dish, a large vegetarian selection and you can substitute the pasta in your dish for high protein pasta, all great things! It’s a very casual atmosphere, so not someplace I’d go for a special occasion but good option if you just want to grab a bite with friends. The staff was very friendly and helpful, my friend needed some hot water to heat up a bottle for her baby and they brought it out right away. I had the Chicken Parmesan hermosa, I was excited to see they had a healthier version of the classic dish. It is a HUGE portion, easily enough for 2 maybe even 3 meals. My friend had the stuffed chicken which sounded good but there was SO much oil from the pesto it was off putting. She didn’t end up finishing her meal and didn’t even want the leftovers. Disappointing. I found my meal to be good, but not great. It’s a small spot and they don’t take reservations for groups under five, so make sure to get there early. When we first arrived at 530(on a Tuesday) there were only a few other people dining, by 6⁄630 it started to fill up.

Alles super.

Fresh, delicious, large portion and reasonably priced Italian food by the beach. My friends rave about this place and I finally had the opportunity to try it with them. Menu was simple yet extensive with glutten free and lots of vegetarian options as well as make your own pasta dish. Prices were very affordable, which surprised me considering it’s location. I had the… –Complimentary french bread. It came with olive oil, and crushed garlic. –Pasta Puttanesca $ 12 — Fresh fettuccine in a butter an anchovy sauce. Love the whole olives, lots of capers and fresh tomatoes. A good kind of salty flavor. Highly recommend it. –Flour less Chocolate Cake $ 5 — Light and not too sweet. I love the fresh whipped cream on top. GETIT! My friends all got pasta dishes and they all liked it. Service is superb! Staff really made us feel welcomed. I just wish they have more than one toilet in the women’s restroom. This one customer took forever using it lol, but other than that it was a great experience! TIP: Metered parking, they don’t reservation unless it’s more than 6 people.
