Fat Tomato Pizza

Decent thin crust pizza and reasonably priced. Nice lunch specials with pizza, salad or a sandwich and a beverage. 4 tables and some bar stools. Owners were very nice.

Ordered pizza from them a few weeks back and had a couple small mishaps such as onions on a pizza that was made clear that was the only thing not to be on the pizza. Wings didn’t make it along with the delivery as well. Contacted them that night speaking with the owner who related to me how terribly sorry he was and that next time was on him. Tonight he followed through and I am enjoying some wings and onion free pizza free of charge. I will be back. Thanks again

Ordered wings here and they sucked. Haven’t had anything else here. But the wings sucked enough that I regretted ordering them and was inspired to write this review. So yeah don’t buy the wings here

Woahh. this place is good. They make some really good pizza. I usually don’t eat pizza much, but when i do its usually a slice or two. They serve pizza by slice and that fits the bill perfectly for me. Pretty decent slice portions. The place is well maintained. Note: This is not a place for you if you plan to sit down and eat with a large group. Also, the parking in this complex can be a pain in the back side.

You know when have those cheat days for eating and you go eat whatever you want? Well this place ruined my cheat day! Pizza was flimsy and awful, I’ve enjoyed frozen pizzas more then I enjoyed this pizza! Wings were no good, I think they had a tough time deciding on if they are naked or breaded wings, because it seemed half and half and the partial breeding was soggy… Another strange thing, the chicken wings had really thick skin and an unusually thick layer of fat… very unappetizing. Sorry for those who love this place, Paisanos is far superior!

A little pricey but the pizza is definitely a 5 star pizza. They are one of the only places around me that delivers to me and I really appreciate it. They are easy to talk to on the phone and are very clear and make sure your order is right.
The first time we ordered a caprese pizza from here it was raining but it got here right on time. To me, it was a little soggy but my parents loved it so I decided we would order the Margherita next time (which has no sauce on it).
However I messed up in the ordering and it must have been a sign from a higher power and ended up ordering a caprese pizza yet again! This time, however, I totally got why my parents raved about it the first time.
The two things I love about their pizza is this: The cheese they use and their crust. The cheese is this creamy mozzarella and it just makes my mouth water. Their crust is thin but still nice and chewy just how I like it.
I now pronounce Fat Tomato Pizza our go to delivery for Hermosa Beach!

I love FAT TOMATO, perfect place to get pizza in the South Bay! I appreciate good food and love to cook as well. So when I eat here I feel satisfied bc I can tell they serve quality, fresh food. I usually get a pizza (popeyes w/​mushrooms) and the hermosa salad (which has goat cheese and pine nuts). Fat knots are so yummy too, aahhhhh they come with real deal homemade marinara (like I can see fresh pieces of tomato and herbs). P. S. They have some handsome delivery guys, just sayin’ nothing like some eye candy bringing you your pizza on a Friday night!

I’d just like to say that the staff here is a very friendly and nice group of people. This is the only pizza place I go to. It’s always so delicious and it actually tastes like REAL FRESH FOOD. unlike other pizza places that taste like microwaved cardboard.

Poorly made pizza with low quality ingredients. Thoughtless, overpriced food. A business has to do better than this in order to justify it’s existence.
Tip: never eat at a pizza place that also serves «wings».

This place is over priced. They don’t specify a topping limit but they charge you and unknown amount for toppings once you reach this unknown limit.

The medium pizza was small for a medium. When I got there for pickup at the scheduled time from EAT24 (after being delayed), I had to wait another 30 minutes in the restaurant. It was a weekend order true, but still. They had my number. They could have called to give me an accurate time for pickup.
I would maybe come back here since it is so close to my apartment. The staff was cordial enough. But after being delayed so much, they had disappointing customer service response. They did apologize but halfheartedly.
Small place, not good for groups. More of a grab and go place. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired. I would not stay and eat there.

The 3^rd star was solely for the crispy crust.
The décor was nice, red walls that played nice off of the metal counter. The man behind the counter was really nice. Parking wasn’t bad either. But it was a weekday.
I ordered the lunch special. 2 slices and a drink
He grabbed a couple pre cooked slices of cheese pizza and threw some pepperoni on it, then off to the oven.
It was ready quick and brought to the table. It had a lot of grease on it. A lot. After I dabbed it off with a paper towel, I dug in.
The cheese was pretty good, and the tomato sauce had a good flavor. The crust was great and saved the meal. It held up to the fold test.
Overall, it was pjzza. Nothing amazing, but not bad at all. If you’re driving by and want some pizza, it is a good stop. It would not be worth a trip just for the lunch special.

I have been ordering from here since last year. Our family loves the Garlic Parmesan Wings and Hermosa Special Pizza. We were never disappointed no matter what we order.

:Happy Dance: The food from this place is super tasty and fresh! I clicked on my EAT24 app and saw a new restaurant that delivers to my place… I was ecstatic! I was getting tired of the same restaurants.
I ordered…
Fat Knots (half dozen $ 1.99): Big, warm, and packed with buttery Parmesan flavor. Melted in my mouth! So good!
Pizza Slice ($ 2.50): Huge slice, fresh spinach and goat cheese… DELICIOUS!
Chicken Arugula Sandwich ($ 7.95): Mmm… I really loved the crispy onions and pesto mayonnaise. Comes with a small side of macaroni salad.
Chocolate Cookie ($ 2.25): I ordered this to meet the delivery minimum amount… I was pleasantly surprised. Huge cookie, with chocolate chips and walnuts. I will order again, loved it!
Can’t wait to taste their salads and wings! I really love that I can order pizza by the slice.
–1 star because delivery took a little long because guy was lost, so I had to meet him outside of my place. He was very nice and apologetic. My place is tricky to find. Hopefully they find me faster next time… because there will be a next time! :)

Ordered the family combo: 1 large two topping pizza with a dozen wings and cheesecake. Order arrived quickly and the food was good. Would order again.
–1 star for the lack of napkins and utensils for a hotel delivery.

Love this place! I’ve tried a couple of their sandwiches and salads. and I’m in love. Their crew also has very polite customer service. My food is always ready in under 5 minutes.

Fat Tomato is a new addition to the small strip mall anchored by 7 – 11. It’s next to Oki Doki Sushi.
My daughter orders from Fat Tomato often. I’ve only tried the pepperoni. It’s not spectacular, but it’s a good option for delivery.

My little family just had a wonderful experience at Fat Tomato. The restaurant is a cute, standard pizza joint. It has 5 tables that seat 4. It also had about 3 seats at a small counter.
We started with the Hermosa Special salad ($ 7.95). It had
mixed gourmet baby greens, goat cheese, sun-​dried tomatoes, pine nuts and balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
It was nice and light, a good starter side before the feast arrived.
The Pizza was definitely the star. The crust was thin, yet sturdy. It was piping hot, fresh out of the oven. Ingredients were plentiful, tasty and fresh.
We had the:
Veggie Lovers Pizza $ 14.95+
Fat tomato, mushroom, bell pepper, artichoke, black olive and garlic.
This was a solid veggie pizza piled high with toppings. My son favored this pizza.
Popeyes White Pie $ 14.95+
Garlic, Alfredo sauce, spinach and ricotta cheese.
Very tasty. This was my hubby’s favorite pie.
Hermosa Special Pizza $ 14.95+
Fat tomato, garlic, goat cheese, basil and fresh arugula.
The owner told me this was her favorite. I would not have ordered it otherwise. It sounded a bit iffy to me. This turned out to be my favorite pizza. I really enjoyed how the flavors complimented one another. I would definitely order this again. It is a pizza, not a pizza salad, so the arugula was not overwhelming. I am a bit tired of all the arugula pizzas that are really cheese pizzas with an entire arugula salad on top. This pizza uses arugula as a topping only. YUMMY!!!
We are not huge wing eaters, but I was very curious about them being baked instead of fried. They were delicious! They were cooked perfectly and served with a delicious buffalo sauce on top. There was also a side of mediocre ranch dressing. I wish it was served with a homemade blue cheese dressing instead.
This is a solid restaurant with very nice owners. They were more than attentive to us and the rest of the customers. It’s a new business, so they were giving out samples of their goods to people waiting.
This is our new pizza spot. I liked that I did not feel overstuffed after consuming a bit too much food. The pizza isn’t too greasy or heavy. Everything is light and just right.
Note: They do not currently have high-​chairs for those of you with really little ones.
UPDATE: I am shocked by some of the low reviews! Based on his recommendation, my hubby’s company used Fat Tomato to cater their weekly lunch. They LOVED it!!! They were all commenting about how good the pizza is. They have been looking for a good pizza place for a year now and have not found one until now. The wings and salad were gobbled up before my hubby got to partake. He told me that people were raving about the parmesan and garlic wings. He went to get some, and they were all gone. Fat Tomato catered a group of over 40 people that were very happy. There are several vegans at his company, and they were very pleased.
I have eaten the pizza one other time since I wrote the review, and I found it to be just as delicious as the first. It is not greasy or bland at all. My crust was super crispy and perfect. I don’t know how the meat pies taste (we do not eat red meat)… Maybe this is what people are not happy with. You cannot go wrong with the Popeye or the Hermosa Special and an order of wings.

Called in an order for the turkey arugula ciabatta (came with pasta salad) and the 12 piece garlic parmesan wings… food was ready when they said it would be in a nicely packaged paper bag.
We took the food home and realized they didn’t provide any serving utensils or napkins. Good thing we were home!
FOOD…not awesome but not bad. Seems like everyone else likes their pizza but bc the food we ordered wasn’t very impressive, we’d probably just order pizza from Paisanos or Dominos. I would give this place another try if a friend I was eating with needed a gluten free or vegan option though.
I’m kind of bummed that this place replaced Big Mike’s…doesn’t compare.
