Elly’s European Skin Clinic

Just visited Elly’s new location in Hermosa, and it’s great! She’s now located in a Salon Republic on PCH, which is way easier to access and ample parking is available. The location is dog friendly, so I can take my pup and she can chill under the table while I’m getting a wax or facial. Elly is still the only one I trust to do my brows and her facials are amazing. Elly is incredibly thorough, I know she’ll take care of every blemish, even ones that haven’t surfaced yet. My skin feels so clean and refreshed after seeing Elly, I highly recommend her! She also sells great products for home skin care treatment, I love the exfoliating mask, it makes my skin incredibly soft.

Elly is wonderful! I’ve come in generally for brows or a Brazillian wax. She is definitely a sweet and wonderful lady and makes you feel comfortable every time. I tend to have sensitive skin and have had no skin problems, which can often occur from cheap waxes that some places use. What I love about this place is that she never makes my eyebrows too thin. I absolutely hate when I go to get brow waxes, I ask for a clean up and they change my brow shape. or other times when they don’t even trim the brows. I feel like with Elly, you will get great service and consistency every time you go.

I’m sorry Elly, you are super nice, a delight to talk to, and your prices are great… BUT I have to give you 2 stars for the following:
1) Although the salon was clean, in my room the trash lid was wide open and I could see the fabric strips from your previous client. Blegh!
2) There’s was a gentleman in the reception area, and when you came into the room, you didn’t shut the door all the way. It was still cracked open.
3) You didn’t wear gloves.
4) Unlike my past experiences at other salons, you didn’t ask me for my assistance to make the process less painful
5) and most tragically, you DOUBLE dipped. For my lips and brows, one stick was used — which was fine. But for the bikini, 2 sticks was used. The was used before me was probably the and is most likely the same wax used from your previous client — which is fine — but use a NEW stick every time please. It has become a health issue now where you can transmit bacteria and get an infection. The wax is not hot enough to kill germs. And even if it was… a stick from a previous client used in the same wax that is being used on me?! Gross and no thank you.
Ladies, ladies, ladies… Double dipping is BAD! But if that kind of stuff does not bother you, then Elly is fast, thorough, and booking appointments are super easy.
Sorry Elly. I would love to return to your salon as soon as I hear that you have adopted more health conscious practices.

Elly is very friendly and works fast. I come on my break from work. She’s very professional. You feel comfortable. Cute location. I wouldn’t trust my Brazilian wax to anyone else ;)

I had my first Brazilian (ever) with Elly and I think she made it about as pleasant as it could be. I was very nervous and it really hurt (for me, and I’m usually a trooper), so her calmness and ease really helped things along. I could tell that she knew what she was doing, which made me feel comfortable as well. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to tolerate the entire thing, so she made it even on both sides so that I could stop at any time without looking… ummm…lopsided. I was able to make it through the entire procedure and I would definately recommend her to a fellow Unilocaler.

I’ve been going to Elly for a few years now for all my waxing needs (full bikini, arms, legs), and I love her. She’s super nice, quick, efficient, and uses real linens and good wax to make the waxing painless and neat. Her prices are very reasonable, too. Highly recommend if you’re a first time waxing customer; she’s patient and will answer all your questions. She also has facial services available.

I’ve been thinking of looking for a new esthetician for a while now. My current lady is just not gentle enough. I know there’s better out there and you get what you pay for.
Elly took her time, but the ordeal was quite painless. Thorough too. I think I’ve found the one.
I’m surprised that there aren’t more reviews for this business. Price was reasonable. Appt was easy to get (she asked to call a few days ahead). Parking was plentiful. (She’s located in a small row of shops behind the gas station on Torrance/​Madrona.) Recommended!

Elly is great! She makes you feel comfortable the moment you step through her door. I’ve visited her for facials and waxing… She’s a pro!
I have to say, Elly’s the best esthetician around for Brazilian wax! It’s already embarrassing enough to go in for the service, but her knowledge and experience with the product makes a fairly painful experience more tolerable.

I was home and away from my regular waxer so I found Elly on Unilocal.Luckily she fit me in for a really quick visit. Not much to say but that she was quick, efficient, comfortable and pretty painless in comparison to other brazilians. She’s also on the cheaper side! The visit probably took a total of 20 min including the time it took waiting in the lobby and paying the bill.
The waxing room had a heated bed and the facility as a whole was very homey and clean. I’ll be back if I need some tidying up and I’m in town.

This is my first time to have a brazilian wax. And based on the other reviews that I’ve read, this is a good place to go. Indeed it was.
I called that morning, on the same day to ask if they accept walk-​ins — they don’t. So I took my chance and asked if there’s any open slot that afternoon. They do! Lucky me… I got the 3 pm same day appointment.
She made me comfortable, and I didn’t feel nervous at all. She gave me advices on skin care and how waxing works. After the waxing, we even talked for a while at the lobby, she’s ready and very open to any questions that I had.
I found out that Elly was the owner and was very kind. She did the waxing by the way.
They also carry various skin care products, specifically my favorite Jane Iredale products. Now I have 2 sources to buy my make-​up.
I’m going to be a regular here.
