Well this was a wonderful spot. The owner snagged up upon entering and invited us to do a taste test. It was awesome! The selection was wonderful. The meals hearty, but not too filling, and the staff friendly as can be. I had braunschweiger, chips a few brats and bread pudding. Wow… it was amazing! I can’t wait to go back! This was one of the highlights of Hermann, and I look forwards to having another go at it. The owners were wonderful as well. Very talkative and friendly. I honestly can’t say enough! P. Way overpriced! For just a brat in a pretzel bun with a handful of chips and a little pickle… For 8.99… I can’t believe we got so little for the price! The brats were good, the pretzel buns were nice and soft, but the prices should have been $ 5.99 for the brat in the bun. Or less!

Let’s start off by saying I am a vegetarian… and I eat bratwurst at the Wurst Haus when I’m in Hermann. EVERY. TIME. I was raised in an area with a high population of German immigrants, and an even higher population of folks who take bratwurst very seriously. We had a «Brat Days» festival and call our town the«Bratwurst Capital of the World» — that being said, I dare say the Wurst Haus puts my hometown brats to shame. Make sure to try some of their more creative flavors– despite seeming gimmicky, the Gorgonzola pear and other fun flavors totally work. The variety, the free samplings, the hot fresh brat plates complete with sauerkraut… you’re doing yourself a serious disservice if you don’t stop by.

While the Pear Gorgonzola beat sounds odd, it is delicious! You are able to try samples of the brats before buying which is nice. Service was great!

We stopped here for lunch after cruising the city and it was perfect! It’s an authentic German sausage house. We were able to taste some sausage and even sample some beers. We decided on the brat on a bun, German potato salad, bread pudding and a local beer. The brat came on a traditional German pretzel. It was a perfect German lunch and we even returned the next day to buy some brats to take home with us for gifts. Super friendly staff, great atmosphere to walk around and get in some free tastings!

Best Wurst Haus sure but more like the worst wurst service Lots of Wursts and smoked meats. Tons of supplies to support your wurst habits too. Deli counter, lunch counter and more. What’s not to like? Sorry to be such an inconvenience to those working there. From asking if there was more stock for an empty item, and sorry I did not have the exact change. Visited November 2015

Something like 45 different varieties of homemade bratwurst and they give you samples of their most interesting and top selling ones along with a witty young lady to serve them up! They have freshly made side dishes and brats that you can eat on the spot or carry out. Nice to have this after a long day at the wineries. Lovely atmosphere too.

Went during Oktoberfest expecting a great meal. Was instead served cold wurst on a cold and doughy pretzel bun. We tried their house special wurst and the bacon and cheddar wurst. The house special is very bland and somehow peppery. The bacon cheddar tastes like cheddar. The sides were a handful of lays potato chips and a pickle on a plate. Their house made sodas tasted like sno cone syrup. Worthy of fair food, but was expecting better. Very disappointed.

They did our food post race and it was so good we decided to have our breakfast there too! I was welcomed by the owner, who after being in Hermann, feels like meeting a celebrity! The breakfast was great, I feel that they could do without the fruit and muffin though(let’s be real!) I will definitely come back with a cooler so I can bring some of the perishable meats home!

Ate here 3 times and loved it! It is a deli serving a wide variety of German sausage and meats. They have expanded into serving breakfast and lunch, both were excellent. Great place for a quick bite!

Stopped in here for lunch as we were strolling the streets of Hermann and this is a must see if you’re into meats. You can taste the day’s offerings for free — this day they had 4 types of brats. Once we tasted, we made our orders at the deli shop(I got the original brat on a bun with chips; my husband got the currybrat on a bun with chips) and they have fountain drinks along with a wide variety of bottled drinks and brews. They deliver the food to the table you’re at and be ready to dig right in and not have anything left on your plate. The brat’s taste goes really well with the pretzel bun it is served with. If you want to take the brat goodness home with you, be sure to check out their selections in the freezer. You for sure will not be disappointed!

If you are looking for brats, this is the wurst! I tried the samples and all were great. I opted for the Curry Brat. I’m not sure where the«curry» in the name came from, but this had a very mild taste with a hint of heat. So I got the Curry Brat which came on a pretzel bun,(I added mustard) and potato chips and a crisp pickle spear. I also hit the beer tasting bar. All were good. Two of my faves: I like darker beers that have some flavor and the Buck Ale was smooth and flavorful. The Blackberry Cider which would be great for dessert.

After seeing all of the rave reviews for this place, I felt I needed to check it out. My husband and I decided to order the German Bratwurst plate for $ 13. It comes with 2 different types of bratwurst, sauerkraut, and two sides. We chose the Bacon Cheddar Potato Bratwurst and the Caramelized Pear and Gorgonzola Bratwurst. I would highly recommend both of them. I preferred the caramelized one and my husband really liked the cheddar bratwurst. I really feel you can’t go wrong with either one. For our sides, we ordered the baked beans and the cherry cheesecake. The beans were pretty good and a little sweet. I thought the cheesecake was delicious. In addition to good food to order, they also have take home packages and free samples. The only downside to this place in my mind is that it closes at 6PM. In sum, definitely probably some of the better food in the area.

I really like German food. I have been known to plan travel around the availability of German food. That’s how I landed here for lunch on a Thursday. I’m really glad I found this place! My lunch was not exactly what I expected to find when I programmed their address into my GPS but I am delighted with the overall experience. I had a bratwurst with two sides. I generally consider sides to be a mixed proposition: when they’re good, I’m happy; when they suck, I don’t usually care that much. My two side dishes were both delicious and I ate almost all of both. I had the German potato salad(served warm, little bits of bacon, very faint taste of vinegar) and their braised red cabbage. Yum! They weren’t offering a plain brat so I was forced to choose from amongst several varieties, each of which included additional ingredients. I selected the caramelized pear and Gorgonzola variety. It was a perfect combination of flavors. The fattiness of a pork bratwurst matched nicely with the sweetness of the pear and the stinky cheese attributes of Gorgonzola. Add in a pronounced level of smokiness, stick it on a pretzel bun and you have a seriously impressive combination. Note: they sell their brats from the cases in the back of the store area. I liked what I ate so much that I came back after my meeting and took them up on their«buy 4 packs, get the 5th one free» offer. Now I just need some pretzel buns…

Delicious. Sampled lots of brats and bought several packages to take home. Lunch there was great-the german potato salad and the bread pudding are amazing. Wish we could have sampled the beers on tap, but nobody was manning the bar area. They were smoking meats, and we didn’t realize it until later, but our clothes totally smelled like smoke the rest of the day. Oops! Definitely a must visit in Hermann!

Yumm. Come hungry. Lots of free samples. Lots of knowledgable staff. We tried some hot off the skillet brats(the Ruben brat was Out Of This World) and we tried some cold sausages. This place seemed as authentic as if gets when it comes to German food.

Love everything. A must stop in Hermann. The shop sells over 20 kinds of German-style sausage and offers samples of 6 of them. It also offers German food and a deli to eat right in the shop along with a wide selection of beer, wine and Rootbeer, one of which is made right here and is probably the best Rootbeer we have tasted! I always purchase several cartons of 1836 Rootbeer to carry home.

Great variety and unbelievable smell I’m vegetarian and they have potato Salad that is tremendous, salads and if you eat cheese or wurst a very large selection that smells so good you’ll have to use some self constraint. Lol
