After seeing other reviews I thought this restaurant would be good, but it was not. The only thing I can recommend is «Tina», who was nice and tried to be accommodating. When we walked in they placed us right beside a television in the corner. I do not like having televisions in restaurants. We asked to be moved and we were placed toward the middle of the restaurant and then we were between competing televisions showing two different programs. I ordered Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk. When it was brought out it had been pre-made from instant coffee. When I asked about this I was told this is how their customers prefer it(I doubt that). «Tina» came out and told me this. She offered to make the traditional style. I received it, but because she had placed so much coffee in the drip container, it took over 20 minutes to drip through. Even then the quality of coffee used was not good. The worst Vietnamese style coffee that I have ever had is served here. They do not serve any Vietnamese beer — only Heineken, Corona and Bud Light. The paper napkins are very flimsy and of very cheap, poor quality. We ordered a fresh summer roll. The rice paper was so thick and tough that it was hard to bite. Also it did not have much flavor and did not include any fresh basil or mint. The peanut sauce was mediocre. We ordered the vermicelli noodle dish with grilled pork. The pork had a decent flavor but was tough. This only included the vermicelli noodles, meat, a few scallions bits of lettuce, and a few bean sprouts. The peanuts were in large pieces. No lettuce, cucumbers, basil nor mint was included. Overall, a very bland dish. I am giving this restaurant«2» stars instead of «1» because«Tina» tried to be helpful and accommodating and was friendly. We will not be returning to this restaurant, since there are much better Vietnamese restaurants nearby.

I have only tried it once, but it was a poor experience. While the apparent owner was pleasant, the food quality was poor. I may try this place again but felt its rating was much too high to reflect my experience!

Stopped in for lunch before catching a movie. Service was friendly and fast. We both ordered the grilled pork with vermicelli, so I can’t speak to other menu items. The pork was plentiful and all the toppings(basil, onions, etc) were fresh. I also liked that they do not water down their nuoc mam cham(fish sauce mixture). I’m looking forward to going back to try additional menu items. Cheers!

This is my go to place for Vietnamese food. My son Cort and I visited last night and had the beef Phở and summers rolls. They bring bean sprouts on the side whisk I like cause often times restaurants overload the soup with them. I spend my time picking half of them them out. They were generous with the vegetables… We love to tune ours up with hot chili’s, Siracha, and hoisin. Maybe, I made mine a touch spicier than I intended to. whew. but was it good. There is nothing like a hot bowl of Phở to relax with and forget your worries… we left full, happy and talking about it the whole way home. We got a to go order of BBQ chicken with broken rice and spring rolls for Amy(wife) and It was devoured. Yumm… Service: 4.5 Stars Our waitress was really nice and accommodating. Food came quick and she was attentive. Atmoshere: 4.3 Star The restaurant looks clean and modern. Not a place to take a first date but definitely the second if you they like Vietnamese food. By the look at the speakers and equipment It looks like they cater parties and or Karaōke. Maybe on weekends dunno. but ill find out next time. Happiness: 5 stars Sold on this one. We were both very happy with our experience.

Very delicious spicy vegetarian noodle soup. Not many Vietnamese restaurants have this option. Comes with tofu and those big mushrooms what I forget the name of and a couple other fake meat things and broccoli and of course the sides of basil, hot pepper, line and bean sprouts plus shredded purple cabbage. Great!

Though Unilocal shows closed, Royal Restaurant at 8900 W Broad St was open Nov 82015. Walked in on small group birthay and others. Classic, simple dining furniture with Tv on bar side of the dinng space. We were greated immediately, away from the party. We started with fresh spring rolls and Wonton soup. Unexpectedly texture, so smooth. Is this what homemade wraps taste like? Now I know, not all wontons are made alike. My date choose a noodle soup(#29) — rice noodles with shrimp and pork and was very pleased. The broth was wonderful. This made his top 5. My entrée(83), stir fried tofu & mixed Vegetables with soft egg noodles was flavorful on it’s own, but I added a bit of of the hot pepper oil — perfect!

I’ve been here twice. Once I tried the beef and meatball phở and the other time the vermicelli special. The phở could use some improvement in flavor but it’s still decent. I am giving them a 4 star based on their vermicelli dish which was amazing. The seasoning of the meat was perfect. The egg roll was good as well. I would definitely come back again. It also helps that the servers and owners are super nice !

I have been here twice now. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. She tells us they use absolutely no MSG(great!). The summer rolls are ok, could use more greens and less noodle. The phở tai, though, has excellent broth flavor. The beef itself was flavorful as well, came out red, and tasted more fresh that most places in the area. They provided plenty of basil. The price is also reasonable($ 7.50 for a regular-sized bowl, one size only). My only concerns are inconsistency; the first time I went, the broth was rather oily, but NOT so the second time. The second time the noodles were harder than expected, but not so the first time(when they were perfect). This is understandable for a new restaurant. I hope they can deliver their best combination of ingredients, so this may become my favorite phở in the area!

So before I say anything… I’d like to say my family knew the owners and we were great friends. We have tested their food many times before they opened and they have made a huge difference in quality, for the better! Opening day, they were all over the place, it was complete chaos. Misorders, cold food, no drinks but they made up for it, telling us they were new to the industry. 1 – 2 months later, they are getting on their feet serving great food but they need a new service system. They cook table to table which means you could be waiting for a very long time for some Goi Cuon(Spring Rolls). Service is ok, they still forget or mishear orders, not all of the staff speaks Vietnamese but they’re still good waiters/waitresses. The food is pretty good, the Com Tam(broken rice) dishes are great! They’re Phở isn’t «to die for» but it is good, large portion of meat, broth, and noodles but a kids bowl or small bowl option would be nice. Their Café Sua Da(Vietnamese Iced Coffee) is phenomenal and their other drinks as well. All in all, it’s a good restaurant, the family is new to the business, they need to fix some kinks! Next big restaurant in Richmond Area!

We found this place accidentally and decided to give it a try. Chicken BBQ vermicelli was flavorful. Their egg rolls are excellent ! The seafood phở was below average though. The service was good, staff are very friendly, and prices are great ! The one thing we didn’t like is that the menu has very few appetizers, none of which looked interesting to us. I think they are updating their menu soon though. P. S. Do yourself a favor and stop at the nearby Gelati Celesti for an icecream after :)

Lets add another Vietnamese/Phở restaurant to the ever expanding list! When we went a couple of weekends ago, the owner stated that it was her first week of opening and was very open to any suggestions/modifications/feedback to her menu or service. The layout is the same compared to the old restaurant(RIP Green Leaf) and with basic furnishings. Wed had a party of six and the service was about average when compared to other Vietnamese spots in town. I got the H Tiu Mì Thp Cm which is the Vermicelli and Egg Noodle soup which had: shrimp, chicken, lettuce, cilantro, green and crispy onion and TWO quail eggs! Unfortunately, when my dish did come out, it was only the egg noodles even after the waiter specifically asked if I wanted both the egg and clear noodles. It wasn’t a big deal to me but worth mentioning. My noodle dish wasn’t actually full of MSG and I was extremely thirsty for the rest of the day. Their broth here is a little sweet and tasted more home made than some other places. The amount of protein was also about an average amount. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal as well. Since there were still in their grand opening phase, they took 10% off our total bill which was nice of them. I think I would come back again and try their broken rice dishes and see how that matches up against some stiff competition in the area! The prices for Phở, rice, vermicelli bowls, etc are all hovering around $ 7 – 9 and the offer all the expected dishes one would think a Vietnamese restaurant would serve. The restaurant is clean and open.
