Before yesterday I would have given this doctor 5 + stars. My sister and I felt he was very professional and knew his stuff and we both are medical professionals… But…yesterday I had a heart problem and could not contact this doctor and finally his nurse, Clarice, called me and her ability to communicate was severely lacking and still no word from the doc himself. I entered myself into the emergency room and that was a life threatening experience and still no contact from this doctor. I will try again tomorrow, since today is Sunday and I am still in a critical cardiac situation… and I am not sure if St Rose even would know where to send my body. I will re evaluated the stars after tomorrow… if I am still alive.

After a second botched heart surgery Dr Koide was unapologetic, arrogant, condescending and didn’t seem very concerned about explaining any details of the treatment or why things had gone awry the second time this was performed. When asked about the medication he prescribed and the changes in dosing his resonse was, «Do you know anything about the dosing of this medication?» I was also told that it took 10 years to study and he didn’t have the time to explain it all to me. This doctor does not listen, he talks over you and tries to condescend to avoid answering any of the«tough» questions. I’m sure it’s not easy to have a conversation after a failed procedure, but I believe the doctor owes it to the patient and family members to have that conversation. His final solution was to get a different doctor. I think anyone who has a heart condition and has had two boched surgeries would definitely have questions that should be answered and explained, if necessary. I am not impressed and through personal experience have some very valid concerns about the competence of this doctor. I strongly discourage anyone from letting him practice on their bodies.
