Wow. Just wow. I have to say the lack of customer service and communication in this place is mind blowing. I called yesterday to ask if I could exchange a smaller frame for a larger frame. I mentioned twice that I didn’t have a receipt and the that frame was unwrapped from the plastic… «No worries, you’re replacing it for a more expensive frame so it doesn’t matter», this is what I was told. They even held the frame for me, put my name on it, and left a note stating the situation. The next day, I come in and found out that all of the above can’t be done? Really? There’s a note from the manager stating my situation on the actual frame I’m buying. The clerk states… «I still can’t do it, unless my manager OKs it». Umm, isn’t that note on the frame a form of «OKing»? He also says he couldn’t do it anyway because he doesn’t know the SKU number for the frame… Can’t he look that up? I ended up calling another location to get the SKU number for him. As I start to give him the SKU number, he just looks at me and does the transaction anyway without the SKU… «My manager got back to me, you’re good»… WTF? When did he get back to you?, I’ve been here the whole time! Oye. The icing on the cake is that the clerk tells me they’re closing this location in a few weeks anyway. So this whole manager verification thing doesn’t even matter because Aaron Brothers on Sunset is closing its doors. Clerk dude, you’re a d**k. They get two stars instead of one because the one cent sale is awesome and my framed Bride of Frankenstein piece looks great.

Want to buy the same things you could find at Michaels/hobby lobby for a mark up in price? Then Aaron’s brothers is for you Although they did have a little more of a selection of strange art things that your basic art store wouldn’t have, like Munnies, blank skate decks, stuff like that The guy in the framing department was also very nice, but I guess you have to be when you’re trying to convince someone to buy framing for double the cost of other stores

Any place that has half price sales and coupons is a winner In my book. The frame selection is good and they offer to help you pick a frame if needed. They usually have coupons in the newspaper, and often have Buy 1, Get 1 specials on a lot of their frames. They sell some unique frames, such as ones with color borders, that I have purchased quite a few times.

I always felt Aaron Brothers was a bit overpriced for what they offered. If you don’t have a 50% coupon from a flier or their website, I wouldn’t dream of using them for framing. But this last time, I did have a coupon. I needed to get something framed, and they were by far the closest option. So I brought a couple paintings into the store. They said it would take 7 — 10 days. I get a call two weeks later that my framing is done on one of the projects, but that it wasn’t quite right. This was a «floating» frame, where the painting sits within the frame. The painting was completely off center, and it looked awful. I mentioned that the frame didn’t fit the painting properly, to which they responded that the frame was«perfect», it was my painting that was flawed. I mentioned that they may not quite understand the point of a frame, and they quickly apologized. I got a refund, and have now taken to painting to a place that assures me they will not have this same issue. But something that should have taken about a week will now take over 3 weeks. I gave them a two star because the second painting came back looking OK. It’s not earth shattering, and they wouldn’t even fully wrap the painting before I left(they said they didn’t have enough cardboard), so I have to drive it home bare. I will also add the people are friendly, just not especially talented, or take any pride in their work. This is the fast food of framing, without the fast food pricing. You’re better off looking for local company for your framing needs.
