I’d like to say that Dr. Heather Hughes is a great practitioner, but she tends to not listen to what you want, and sway more to what she wants. Her team is horrible! Vey unfriendly, not accommodating at all, and don’t even try to get a referral out of them… that is a joke! MOre like an old clinic feel than a modern office.

The receptionist who answered the phone was probably the rudest person and the most unhelpful and inconsiderate person I have spoke with in a long time. It was as if it was so much trouble to ask several questions as it killed her to answer them. I wanted to know if they did a certain procedure and the price of it, she did not know and she put me on hold and sent me to voicemail just to ignore speaking with me. I was nice and polite as she was short and rude and had zero customer service. I don’t get how a person who sits in a cool air conditioned office and has minor job duties and feels the need to act rude. I would never go to this dr and I hope this dr realizes the receptionist is the first impression. Next …

Dr Hughes, herself, is a very fine doctor. I am basing this on a number of office visits, as her personality, ability to listen to the patient, and draw the correct conclusion were really excellent. I have to agree with the negative review in one part. Her staff are NOT up to her standard. They don’t return calls at all, let alone timely. It is difficult to get an RX refill approved, which wastes a lot of the patient’s time. Aside from the staff issues, Dr. Hughes is an outstanding doctor

Dr Heather Hughes office staff are rude and disorganized. The doctor ordered a CT scan for myself and on the day of my appointment the imaging staff realized Dr Hughes had ordered the wrong type of CT scan. Not to mention when the imaging center call Dr Hughes office to verify my information they were told I am not their patient. I then had to call Dr Hughes office to correct that issue. Ramona their coordinator was the primary contact. She was rude, basically told me I would have reschedule my CT scan. It took 4 weeks to get the first appointment! Basically they don’t care that I am a single mother who arranged for daycare today to get my CT scan. I should have infinite amounts of time to reschedule important tests. Then when I asked for my medical record they threatened me saying that I could get my record through a new doctor, however they graciously let me pay $ 1 per piece of paper. Thank you! For being the worst medical experience I have ever had. Also, the front reception area is dirty, air vents and walls have a lot of dust. The front desk person was holding her crying baby. I felt like I was in a third world country. One simple apology and things would have been ok.

I decided to change doctors once I moved from Murrieta to Hemet. I found Dr. Hughes and she is seriously the nicest doctor I’ve ever had. She really tries to get to know you and any issues that you have going on and she remembers her patients too. She never tries to rush you out of the room like some doctors I’ve had before and makes sure you are well taken care of before you leave. I LOVETHAT! She used to practice OB/GYN but she doesn’t anymore which really bummed me out at first. The office that she refers for that though is great and I recommend(see review for Apex OB/GYN). The office staff here is pretty nice too. They are conveniently located right next to a dental group and real estate office off of Florida. When I first came here, they didn’t let me know when I made the appointment that it was cash only. But, they said no biggie and let me write a check so that was nice. So, make sure to bring cash with you! Plenty of parking too.

I am new to the area and needed to find a local doctor. I was given a list of doctors in the area that excepted my insurance. I really didn’t expect much by just picking someone at random. I was pleasantly surprised by the great office staff and Dr Heather Hughes. She addressed all of my issues and left me feeling completely safe with my health and well being in her hands. I am very happy with my decision and would recommend her office to anyone looking for a good doctor and friendly atmosphere. I even gots tips on life in Hemet!

I would like to start this review by mentioning I have always been terrified of the Dr. I was a sickly kid so had many visits, shots, pokes, all the fun stuff and my grandmother who died 2 months short of her 100 birthday insisted the Dr. Wants to do nothing but take your money and feel you up, seriously, this was her battle cry! So I have had issues, issues that led me to completely ignore anything Dr. after the birth of my last child 17 years ago, bleeding out my ears? No biggie! It will go away! Well one day I decided I wanted to see my future grandchildren and started a bout of depression and didn’t want to live like that, so with a great deal of fear from knowing I was going to be dead within 6 months from unimaginable tropical diseases, I bit the bullet and went in, I even had to take a picture of me in the office to prove I was there to my family. Well I met a nurse practitioner that I adored, she could tell I was suffering from loses I had been dealing with and became someone I looked forward to seeing, but it wasn’t going to last, her husband was in the military God love him, and he moved her away. I was seriously at a loss, what was I going to do? Well I asked a dear friend who is an OB nurse at the hospital who she would recommend and it was Dr. Heather Hughes, I balked and thought she can’t possibly be anything like Teresa! My Dr. days will be over again. Oh well I went, I have been twice as of today, the receptionist, and I am also a receptionist seemed sweet until I informed her I had no idea they were cash only and I only had a check with me, perhaps she was bored bit she could not comprehend the fact that I didn’t know, after all«the sign has been there ten years», that may be but I have been two times and didn’t notice, I wasn’t trying to pull a fast one. But we managed to resolve the issue, I scared what will happen if my check bounces! But I am sure eventually we will be best friends. The wait has been minimal both times and the waiting room is pleasant. The nurse, Rose, called me back and while she insisted I get on the scale, I am sick enough thank you, she could not have been sweeter, she talked to me about our kids and got me in a calm, pleasant state of mind. Then Dr. Hughes came in, what struck me first was her welcoming smile and delightful curly red hair, she looks like a very pleasant young woman, I’m sure I could be her mother or older sister, but I like that, she would it would seem to be more currant and up to date than someone my age. She took the time to talk to me, and I feel she really listened, I did not at all feel rushed, I felt that one of the gifts she possesses is empathy, that she doesn’t want my co-payment(and then to feel me up) but that she truly wants to help me achieve a piece of mind. Her office is very clean and pleasant, and I feel blessed I got lucky with medical needs twice. To make a doctorphobe like me feel at ease and to not dread going back is seriously an acomplishment. I look forward to our visits and trust that she has my best interest at hand. Dr. Heather Hughes, I fully recommend, I only hope her husband is not in the military!
