This place is so adorable, clean, and super friendly. They have an amazing chai tea and offer plant-​based milk, which is a plus to me and my family! The staff was so welcoming and the vibe is super inviting! Ariana is the best! Ask for her!

The sandwiches are seriously amazing, the best I’ve ever eaten or made in fact. The only problem I see is with the attitude of the female cashier who works there, she’s a self important snob who is only attentive to those she knows personally. Not very professional.

Finally Hemet has a great sandwich shop! I used to try other sub places in town and this takes the cake! The bread is crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, the cheese and toppings are good. Now for what sets the food apart is the vastly superior selection of lean meats in the Turkey and corned beef subs. Drinks are dispensed from a machine, so top off before you head out! Place can get busy quickly.

Man oh man I wasn’t a sandwich person before, but a coworker of mine had me pick up a couple subs from here and I am sold.
Potato salad is so good, sandwiches are fresh, vegetables are fresh and crispy, so much better than a particular sub sandwich company… cough cough

Ordered the 3ft sub in the AM and the only thing I had to go on was «It’s what my friend ordered last week». They looked it up and had it ready by 4PM. It was delicious. Lot’s of compliments and no skimping on the meat. I’ll order one for all my get togethers!

This is my first time here and I will DEFINITELY be returning! Friendly and fast service. The ambiance is cozy and clean. The special only allow for turkey and cheese subs if you want that then it’s definitely a good buy. I decided against so my total was a little pricey but the sandwich was great. Tried the potato salad … NOT a fan left a lot to be desired (should have went with the chips) but good experience nonetheless

Hand’s down the best sandwich shop in Hemet or anywhere nearby! The daily specials are a steal at $ 7 for a footlong sub on AMAZING bread, with a side and a drink. Cheaper than you get at any larger chain and this mom-​and-​pop is top QUALITY. Every sandwich I have ever had has been amazing. When I asked they said they had their bread shipped in special order from NY. I can’t say enough about the bread. Recently tried the meatball sub for the first time and it was delicious. I don’t see how anyone could possibly tackle a whole sub by themselves, as the meatballs were nearly billiard ball size. All in all, I just want everyone to come here and try amazing sandwiches and soups from an outstanding local business. I will be back, again, and again, and…
*Oh, and the décor is fantastic — a rotational blend of local artists and media. Always something new to admire while you’re waiting for the tasty food.

Great sandwiches, I got the #25 with buffalo sauce and it was really good! Top quality. Everything is really fresh. It’s the day after Christmas and the whole place was packed. Its nice to have a cute little store that sells quality sandwiches in town. Oh yeah and the prices are amazing, I got 2 sandwiches in total, both 12 inch. a small coke, a side of potato salad, and the total came to something like sixteen dollars. You can’t beat that.

Adorable little place that I hear make it a jukebox soon… Big smiles :-) the tortilla soup was fantastic and the pumpkin spice latte was even better! Great prices for such a great environment…

Love Downtown Deli! The bread is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. The pastrami sandwich is delicious you can actually taste the pastrami as opposed to so many places that have washed out flavorless pastrami. The soups and desserts are all made in house and delicious. The only drawback is that they do not have a source of easily accessible clean, cold free water, but they are very happy to fill a small cup of water for you from their pitcher and it is filtered.

Always incredible! Everything is amazing! Sandwiches are delicious, drinks are tasty and high end, but prices are so reasonable!
A «Cannot Miss» is their Harvard Street Bagel (add Avacado) which ends up being only $ 2.75, and will probably be the best breakfast-​y item you’ve ever had!

I’ve visited this place several times. The food has been dynamite EVERY TIME. The folks I have suggested Downtown Deli to, have loved it.
No sandwich place is perfect, but I must say, these folks are on the right track. It can get busy at times, and the staff may be busy tending to other customers, so they don’t have time to be super sociable ALL the time. I tried the soup, and WOW! There is a bit of ‘love’ sprinkled in there. I recommend the «Dirty Chai «. Delicious!!!

I’ve been here a handful of times and went to an event with the sandwiches catered from here. The sandwiches are good. but what I didnt like seeing was when I went the lady in the front was pretty cold and rude just like the other reviews say.
With such nice décor I think they should have better uplifting staff to go with the business they have rudeness does not look good sound good and doesnt make people want to come back.
(Iced Spiced chai tea was great)
The iced coffees were not even sweet at all i got the mocha caramel iced coffee and I had to put sugar packets in it when i got it. They said it was sweetened but it was just bitter. They could work on improving some items especially when you have to pay 5 bucks for a little iced coffee, it should be of better quality.
On a more positive note. great place to eat inside. Very nice addition to hemet. Not another ran down place that will eventually close, this place seems legit.
They also have all kinds of sweet pastries and daily specials like the 5 dollar deal you get a 6 inch sandwich a side and a small drink.
I’d recommend you try dining here at least once to see if you like it as well.

I decided to come here after the reviews I read. I have to agree with some and disagree as well with others. The customer service was ok, but to me the person that happen to help me wasn’t very pleasant, and kinda rude. I been to my fair share of deli shops, and I have to be honest. I have had better ham and cheese sub or sandwiches for that matter from other places. Hell I even had better from little hole in the wall delis, but enough with the negatives.
I paid 5.38 or so for a 6inc ham and cheese sub (there is different types of cheese to chose from), a drink, and your choice of a bag of chips, potato salad, and macaroni. Over all it was satisfying, a some what of a home taste, but what really sold me was the setting of the establishment. It was very cozy, with a home feel to it. The art work and decorations of the place was great.
