I hate to give this review as a longtime customer, I’ve been coming here since they opened many years ago. However today’s visit will be my last. I received a gift cert from a good friend for $ 100. I had a mild stroke right before my birthday and between rehab and the stress of bills and getting back to my normal life i had misplaced the card. Mind you it’s a business card type of card not an electronic card. I found the card recently in an envelope and i was so excited to get to use it today. So i showed up and told the girl i had misplaced my card and wanted to use it at which point she looked at it and informed me that it had expired. Apparently after 6 months! She pointed out it said so on the card. I’m sure she could tell i honestly didn’t know it had expired and i asked if there wasn’t something they could do since i was a longtime customer. She offered me a paraffin treatment. I said so you can’t give me $ 50 or half(i had used or for a $ 30 pedi one time and had a $ 70 balance. She said no, like it says it does expire after 6 months. At that point i felt insulted and shocked. I just feel like i can’t do business at a place that treats their customers that way. As i was walking out she apologized and explained the policy again. Then i got a little angry and said I’m an adult i can read i understand your policy. But i had a stroke last year and i couldn’t use the card and a lot of other things going on. At that point she offered me my pedi free. I said no thanks it’s too late I’m not doing business here anymore. So word to the wise, there are MANY places in San Antonio for spa and nail treatments. Treat EVERY customer with value and respect because if you don’t, someone else will. That is all.

I’ve been coming to all about me for years. I really like some of the staff and that’s what keeps me coming back. That said, I’m likely going to depart soon. First — I’m tired of getting a pedicure with the bubbles off because the owner doesn’t want to fix the tubs. When mentioned she is quick to point out how expensive those chairs are. Expensive or not I’m paying for a service that is subpar(even compared to the cheap Asian places). Second — the spa looks so so tired. The nail room is in terrible shape. The tiles are worn. The nail desks are ancient. At Christmas time you can’t even find a decent glitter polish because they are all so old. They have 2 newer ons. I mean, c’mon. It’s very obvious to me that either they are just waiting to sell the business or close it because it needs some serious TLC. I think that this could be a wonderful spa, but it needs some updating, desperately.

I have been in many spas and this one is not so good in my opinion and here is why: 1. My massage was done with cold hands. I told the lady several times. She finally stopped and let me go. 2. Facial was done but i wasnt told what will be happening or do i even more this to be done to my face. What if i wanted to alter it a little?(remember this is my first time being in salon, i have no idea what products they use) 3. Only thing i was happy about was nail salon, they came out great. However, when i got my pedicure, she didnt scrub my feet very well, like almost trying to avoid it . So overall score-1!

Beth and her team are simply awesome. Everyone is extremely nice and accommodating. I enjoy a glass of complimentary wine and or water along with chocolate covered strawberries and cookies while I wait. I am truly a repeat offender here. It’s like visiting with old friends.

My assigned aesthetician certainly could have given a little more than she did. She could talk the talk, but she lacked follow through. I sensed she was distracted and perhaps rushed, and that other folks have probably received from her a better experience than I did. She began by asking me why I had chosen the 90 minute treatment. I explained that I am one stressed out mama and I really need the extra pampering.(I was looking forward to the added hand and foot massage, usually while your face is steaming with a luxurious mask). She seemed to understand. However, once I was on the table, she actually encouraged me to choose the sonic youth facial instead of the facial that came with the 90 minute treatment I had booked. I assumed that after observing my skin type that she knew what was best for me and that she would perform the sonic youth facial, incorporating the hand and foot massage to give me the 90 minutes I had scheduled. I’d even told her I didn’t care about the price, «just do what you think is best.» But after one hour she announced that my treatment was over and she hadn’t even massaged my shoulders, which usually happens no matter what sort of facial you are getting. She seemed knowledgable about skincare, but her application of product, usually massaged with a recognizable technique, was more just spread around my face and taken off. Having had many facials and having been to beauty school, and having worked at a high end spa in the Napa Valley, this gal was clearly being lazy. I had also indicated that I was in need of a new home routine as my skin has changed over the last two years and the products I’ve been using aren’t as effective. I fully expected her to recommend some retail product for me, but instead she mentioned Olay products from the local drug store. Haha That made the retailer in me cringe, but whatever, I was trying to relax! The treatment room was a decent size, but I was the first appointment for the day and I was disappointed to see caked on product around the sink’s faucet. Not a good indication of cleanliness, disinfection and sanitation techniques. I am a licensed manicurist who is fully aware of what good disinfection and sanitation looks like in a spa facility. This place needs some serious organization of product; bottles should be lined up, easy to read(and market to clients), wiped down nightly, and sinks should definitely be scrubbed after every client. And after having telephoned to inquire about their disinfection and sanitation techniques for manicures and pedicures, I’m convinced this place is not safe for the consumer. They claim to follow state board standards, but when I asked whether they reuse files and buffers, they said yes. When I asked if they clean and disinfect their spa tubs, soaking them with a hospital grade disinfectant solution for the minimum ten minutes required, I was told they do not. The nail tech’s excuse was that they are a busy spa and don’t have time, but continued to insist they follow state board standards. When I confronted her on her inconsistencies, she simply responded that their spa must not be the spa for me. Well, she’s correct on that, and I’m here to tell you, as a licensed nail tech, myself, this is not the spa for anyone if you care about your health.

I went for an hour massage today and got Anna as my Massage Therapist, she was really great! Very friendly, and the tension in my upper body was gone, I also get migraines so I was really happy that I got a scalp massage!

You really get what you pay for here. It’s not the absolute best day spa I’ve ever been to, but it’s also not the most expensive one I’ve been to either. This place doesn’t have the locker rooms and amenities that some of the other larger, more expensive one have but sometime I just don’t have the time for all that anyway. I went in a couple weeks ago on my birthday for a bit of pampering before I partied it up. I didn’t make an appointment and it was actually pretty busy for a Tuesday, even it if is summertime, but the receptionist was nice enough to squeeze me in and I didn’t end up waiting very long at all. I got a seaweed wrap and a facial. Both of them together probably took an hour and half and they were just as good as any of the high-end places I’ve been to. I spent $ 130 with tip. Everyone there was very nice and I’ve heard rumors of them offering wine although I went in the morning and just had water. It is in a strip mall(I know some of my um, snottier friends, refuse to go to spa that’s in a strip mall) but I think it’s a great location(food, Cold Stone, and movie theater close by!) and the inside of the place is really, really nice. I am definitely going back one day!
