I got a carnitas and beef taco on soft corn. I believe using queso fresco as opposed to shredded cheese would have made a world of difference. Maybe offering some sort of hot sauce such as Cholula would help make the tacos not so one dimensional.

Biggest, tasty fish tacos I’ve seen! You might need a fork or a ton of napkins; they are pretty messy! The people who work there seem pretty cool too. My go to taco place when I come to Helena.

Great food! Great service ! And fast! If you are one of those people who have a 30 minute lunch and work close super great food! I like how they have a taco in a boat for us gluten free people

Delicious fish tacos! The serving was very generous and the flavors were wonderful. I will definitely return. The place was clean and the staff were friendly and patient as we chose what we wanted to eat.

What a nice little place in a very cool part of town. I was just here as a tourist but from the menu to the food… this place made a nice impression on me. I will be back here again.

Great burrito, fish tacos were excellent, and the half nachos made a very tasty appetizer to share. For under $ 20 for 2 people, this is a great stop!

I know everyone just loves this place, but I find it to be a bit bland. I went there today, it has a nice atmosphere, and the staff are helpful, and food prep is fast. They also let you try the different types of meat they offer in their dishes. I got a burrito supremo, with pork and black beans, and I have to admit, if I hadn’t added the jalapenos and hot sauce, it would have been quite bland. There are other places in town where you can get something with more flavor, but if you are downtown, on foot, and in a hurry, this is a great place to try!

I’m glad this place exists. I really like to see business in the walking mall survive. I think the atmosphere and staff are great. I love the cheap beer however the burritos are not great, the tortillas are often a little slimy and the ingredients taste like they come straight out of a Cisco truck without much added seasoning or love. I will still eat there on occasion i just wish it was a little better quality and flavor.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in town, LOVE! Fair warning though, everybody else thinks this is the best Mexican in town too and the lunch line is literally a block long sometimes!

Nice location, good atmosphere, and friendly service. The burritos were okay… not great. I guess for the area, it is the best you can get.

Very good and fast. Had the nachos and added pork for a dollar. Lots of tasty food for the price just wish the nachos had a bit more cheese on themm

Always good! And they serve beer, in moderation! Fish burrito supreme is where it’s at! Great staff as well. Awesome new location!

Fresh. The taco salad was huge for mom. I had awesome soft tacos with Carne Asada. Loved it. Good mix a meat and veggies. Get the works. Don’t skimp.

I ordered soft tacos with carne asada. They were large, but filled mostly with shredded lettuce and diced tomato. The salsa verde was okay, but the carne asada was not good. Not even close. It was boring and inauthentic — exactly what I’d expect from a fast Mexican joint in a state with a nominal Hispanic population.

This is one of the best spots in Helena; the burritos are HUGE and are really cheap, like $ 5! They also have tacos which is what I usually get, they’re around $ 3 and are smaller(more average sized!) but are really filling. Everything here is really fresh and you can choose whatever you want them to put on your item. They have different types of hot(or mild) sauces and jalepenos for more extra charge. The place is delightfully decorated and very colorful, a fun atmosphere! I’ve been going here since they opened(gosh, 5, 10 years ago?!) and have always loved it. They typically hire young workers, in high school or college(many of my friends have worked here throughout the years), and are always competent and friendly, the service here never fails. They also serve beer, cookies, and ice cream treats!

We wandered down to Last Chance Gulch for dinner on our only night in Helena, and the first night of our two-week road trip. We were tired after a long day of driving so something quick appealed to us. The high ceilings and tall windows make the space seem even bigger than it is. The décor was cute and the place was clean. I ordered a fish taco with a hard shell and a chicken taco with a soft shell. My husband ordered a burrito and we topped it off with two JALEPENOPINEAPPLEMARGARITAS! All said the total was only $ 17.80 which is a fricking bargain to me. The food was much tastier than Mexican fast food where I come from. The salsas were delicious. My only complaint would be that the hard shell taco seemed a little stale. All the meat and toppings tasted good, though. Those margs were delicious and were only $ 3 each for 16oz. We interacted with three staff members. Two people who took our orders/made our food, and one at the till. They were all super friendly and really polite. I was really struck by it. Great staff.

YUCK! The first time I went I thought the food was horrible. Made the mistake of going back to give them another chance and it was worse the second time.

I’ve eaten here for years. Fresh good food at a great price. The service has been consistently friendly over the years and I haven’t ever had a bad experience here. The fish tacos are good. Since they make your food while your standing there you can ask for less or none of any ingredient and get what you expect. I also appreciate how hard they try to get things you make suggestions for, like beer! Something else I admire about Taco del Sol is the level of involvement and commitment they have put into the community. They really appreciate their customers and give back in many ways.

Food was average at best. I ordered the«Mission Supreme» burrito with carne asada. The burrito was very large, but had very little meat in it. It was mainly rice and beans and a little bland. The fish taco was not memorable either. Lastly, the prices are high for what you get.

Looked to be pretty popular with the Carrol crowd, Hip décor etc. We had the mission burrito and a couple of tacos. Tacos were alright, like something you might make at home. I must have got gyped on the burrito because it certainly wasn’t 14″ long. Not sure how to describe it other than just not that good. At least the beers were cold!
