My most recent experience here was MUCH better than the first time. I went with the Tombo fish special and it was amazing. They put a curry sauce on it and they dressed the plate with wasabi… they also put some grilled onions and peppers on the plate. It was very creative and grilled medium rare… just the way I ordered it. This time, I went with the Caesar salad and it’s the way to go if you want a salad. Now I know why some say this is the best restaurant in town.

Biggest disappointment was the cold hard, rolls. They looked like something you would pick up in a bag at the grocery store. The creamy Parmesan salad dressing was very good although there wasn’t much to the salad. I had the halibut piccata which was delicious! Huge piece of halibut with a nice sauce. Husband had the Gorgonzola angel hair and he said it was good. Daughter had chicken alfredo which they were nice enough to make even though it wasn’t specifically on the menu, but there was something a little off to the taste of the Alfredo… couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Needless to say she wouldn’t eat it and they were gracious enough to accommodate with just a dish of buttered noodles. The atmosphere is pleasant although a little dark. Not someplace I would take small children. Definitely worth a try.

So, usually I can get over the maitre d that always looks like he’s smelling a fart, and doing me a favor for putting me on the list, and the shitty wine, but not this time. This current visit, the food was bad. The pasta with marinara looked and tasted dry. The sauce had the consistency of tomato paste, the noodles were good, but I won’t be able to eat them until I go home and put some sauce on them. The clam dish had more onions than pasta, and the description of clam was generous, as they were difficult to find through the onions. The spinach angel hair pasta was delicious, and for that I would go back, and by go back, I mean order it to go.

Just the facts ma’am– I’m in town(what’s with the two lane road into the state capital?! — odd) on business. It’s late, and I’m hungry. No, I’m not going eat fast food… I’ve been flying & driving most of the day… fast food ain’t gonna help; I need a solid meal. Unilocal comes out and I spot this place — looks good. Once again, I’m traveling, hungry and this app shines through. Parking right out front(in the old part of Helena) is decent– I asked the host if they’d tow my car, he smiles«no!» — ok, first hurdle complete! As usual, I’m eating at the bar — local beers on tap(I ordered some prickly pear IPA thing — Decent brew!) and helpful, friendly staff. The Caesar salad was frigging awesome! One of the best I’ve ever(yes, WITHANCHOVIES!) eaten — no kidding. Pesto chicken pasta — WOW. That’s all I can say… WOW! Excellent. So much food, I had to box the rest up — no room for dessert. Even the coffee was great. All totaled, less then $ 30.

We were in Helena during the summer on a trip to Glacier National Park. Helena is a nice beautiful town. This place is right in the downtown area and is convient to shopping. Food: 4 stars. Pretty good food. Ambiance: 4 stars Service: 5 stars. Very friendly staff

Beautiful ambience, I especially like the privacy of the booths. However, the dishes served are lacking only because the chef does not understand less is more. For example, if you order a steak, it can practically stand alone, and in most cases it should. It does not have to be piled with extras or served with rich side dishes. The pesto pasta had fresh pesto, and it was obvious the noodles were homemade. Unfortunately, the dish has added tomatoes and over cooked prosciutto. If the dish had been left alone, with only the pine nuts for flavor enhancement it would have been perfect. Sidebar, proscuitt should NEVER be grilled. This restaurant tries too hard and misses the little things that make a difference, like warm fresh baked dinner rolls and food that has not represented an overindulgence of the concept of «let me just throw in some…»

When in Helena, we enjoy going to On Broadway. The fresh pasta and innovative cuisine is unique for The area. A few of our favorite dishes include the Muscle appetizers, Sweet Tasmanian pasta and the Scallops, Shrimp and Pancetta Pasta.

We went specifically for ribeye, and were not disappointed. While I didn’t care for the onion and mushroom topping, I did enjoy the delicious gorgonzola butter which added a creamy tang to the meat. My steak was cooked perfectly, and it was super tender, however the best part of the meal was the creamy parm dressing on salad! DELICIOUS! I finished off my meal with carrot cake that was tastey but not inspiring.

PROS: good atmosphere, reasonably priced, good quality food, very helpful and friendly waiting staff CONS: food portion slightly small, street parking, it’s slightly too dark inside for me

Best restaurant in Helena! Pasta made fresh every day, homemade salad dressing, fresh seafood including crab, and the desserts prepared in house!!! Are you kidding me! If you haven’t been to On Broadway what are you waiting for exactly? Its absolutely divine! You will never ever be disappointed at point of your dinning experience, most of the staff have been there forever, so they know how to make your meal the best it can be. If I could give them 100 stars I would but I’m limited to five. Get down there and EAT! CHEERS!

We drove past Helena during your road trip, and found this place on Unilocal. We had an amazing dinner and wished we could have a wonderful Italian restaurant like this in our neighborhood back in Bothell, WA. This is indeed a rare find!

While visiting Helena, I had the opportunity to eat at On Broadway twice. Once with my family and then with my spouse. both times the food was pretty good. My fav is the antipasto plate(yum). The lobster/crab cakes were meh as was the salmon dinner. The filet wrapped in bacon was divine though. . would get that again. Would definitely visit this restaurant again :-)

Props to the staff! BEST customer service! Our waitress made sure we were taken care of before we needed anything. I travel all over the country and have eaten at all type of restaurants. I love when my drink is refilled before its all the way empty. It shows we are being serviced. I loved the décor and«cave» like booths. Super beautiful setting. The food was very good. Pesto was dry in my opinion, but flavor was great. A definite must eat at spot!

The Best Place in Town… Hands Down. If you happen to wait for a table… no worries you can order an appetizer and a drink at the bar or table before seated, as we did last night! The mussels were fresh and hot sharing it with a bottle of the On Broadway Malbec! When we got to our table we were greeted by Shawn a long time waiter with mounds of knowledge and experience. We ordered the house special, Ahi tuna with a strawberry reduction and a hint of spice. Again, the food was cooked to our liking and surely recommended. To top it all off we had the chocolate moose for dessert… oooh so dreamy and delicious. I have been here more than dozen times, and I have NEVER been dissatisfied with any of my food experiences! On Broadway is and always will be a first choice in my book!

Friendly service, small town charm, and one of the best rib eyes I’ve had in a long time.
