Conveniently located to the airport, Fiesta Liquors takes full advantage of its location by charging a 10 to 20% premium on everything it sells. Cigarettes, beer, wine, liquor, even sodas and potato chips are noticeably cheaper just one exit down the road in Hebron. Fiesta holds a monopoly on adult beverage sales at the airport exit, catering to business travelers who don’t want to pay even higher prices at their hotel’s bar. The selection is pretty expansive, but the staff is not overly friendly(probably busy watching television as Kendo U spotted). Locals know that the real deals are a few miles down the road.

A zillion miles from home, and in a hotel with no restaurant or bar. Got a long day behind me(long week for that matter), tummy full of Cincinnati Cheese Coneys, and wanting a couple brews before knocking out. Where’s my BevMo at? Well, I ran into Fiesta Liquors down the street from the hotel. It’s Kentucky’s version of BevMo I suppose. Old place, bright yellow signage, and a huge banner proclaiming to all that they sell liquor on Sundays too… Guess you need a special permit for that out in these parts. Upon walking in I was glanced over at by the old timer sitting in the middle behind a 4-way counter watching his TV. He nodded. I nodded, and proceeded to check it out. Huge selection in here… probably the size of 6 or 7 liquor stores back home. Picked up a 6-pack of Leinenkugel’s Sunset Wheat(label proclaimed drinking it is like feeling the sunset while fishing out on the lake here in the Midwest)… lol… Those crazy marketing folks…
