Best place to go to for a Friday Fish Fry. It’s not beer battered and its all you can eat! Cole slaw, fries, potato pancakes, applesauce… the works at a decent price.

Stopped in for my first time today and it’s safe to say I’ll be coming back. Had the all you can eat chicken (white meat only, you get to choose) with fries and it was phenomenal. The chicken is crazy good. The service was great, very friendly folks. I finished my meal with coconut cream pie and a cup of coffee which was icing on the cake.

Good food. Great value. Chicken is very good. Sunday Brunch is excellent. Why 2 stars? Horrible service. Our server, Penny, was inattentive and rude. She came by to refill drinks once. Wouldn’t make eye contact. Was terse. Waited longer for the check than it took us to eat. We had to go find Penny to get her to take our payment. It took nearly 15 min for my card to be swiped and come back to me.
No matter how great the food, bad service leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I once went in at 7:50pm on a Saturday evening. Even though they were due to close at 8 the staff happily took my order and served me a cold beer while I waited for my dinner. Staff is very friendly, the chicken is yummy and the value is spot on… recommend!

Their Sunday brunch is the best I have ever had! Every single item I tried was tasty and fresh. I enjoyed sampling breakfast and lunch items at the same time. Oh, and the desserts… homemade and delicious. I wish I lived closer!

I usually don’t like a Buffett but this one was fresh and tasty. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, ham, sausage, chicken, fruit, deserts … All fresh and just created.
The owner was delightful and made us feel right at home.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The fish fry on Friday is excellent and you can get it to go. The chicken is delicious. Very friendly staff. It’s a little out of the way, but worth the drive.

Service was a bit slow considering there was 2 waitresses taking care of maybe 4 – 5 tables at 3pm on a Saturday. The all you can eat chicken special is confusing because it’s $ 8 between only during certain hours (which the other waitress actually confirmed), and then our bill showed the $ 13 price. How about you keep it simple so you can advertise ($ 8 chicken all day). The cooks in the back were loud, banging pots and making phlegm noises (that’s appetizing). A few hours after eating both me and my wife felt a bit sick. I don’t think there was anything wrong with the food, just not used to super greasy fried chicken.

Last year on our drive back from Lake Geneva, we passed by Crandalls, and made it a point to check it out sometime in the near future. Well, we finally had our chance. Crandalls is a great family restaurant and the menu is varied enough for most appetites.
I was very impressed with my choice of a chicken salad. The dressing was amazing and the chicken tasted fresh. Our kids ordered off of the kids menu and, of course, ordered the chicken strips. They were obviously not from a frozen box, and they tasted great!
Everyone in our group was happy with their choice of food. I can’t wait to go back again!

Average food. Quite possibly the slowest service I’ve ever had. I mean European level of slow service. We stopped considering it for lunch because the food takes more than 30 minutes to arrive. Might be 3 stars without the service issues.
They claim to be expert fried chicken experts but, although it’s well cooked and crispy, it’s needs seasoning.

I’ve only eaten one thing here so my review is just about that. Friday night is all you can eat broasted chicken night. If you don’t know what broasted is well it’s a cross between roasted and baked. All that means is technically it’s not fried in lots of oil but the outcome is some darn juicy and crispy chicken. This stuff is delicious. The meal comes with cole slaw and your choice of potatoes. I always get the potato pancakes. These are a lot more pancake like than latke like so think soft and not as crispy but still yummy with applesauce. There’s a full bar to go with your meal and they have a homemade pie and sundae dessert menu. Go early or be prepared to wait. But there are tables outside and you get to stare at the giant chicken. This competes well with Friday fish fry if you are looking for a change.

It’s tradition, and it’s good. All you can eat broasted chicken and mini cinnamon rolls! Need I say more? Didn’t think so.
But the ribs and chicken combo and prime rib are great too.

The food is fresh and home made. Servers are always efficient yet friendly. Love the ambiance. It is my favorite restaurant in McHenry County.
I had the Sunday brunch for the first time today. The dessert bar blew me away. Carrot cake, strawberry shortbread with real whipped cream, banana coconut pie, crème puffs, eclairs and more. All delicious and home made.
The chicken is the best in the universe.

Ah… Crandalls! How does it get any better than that?!
This place is a staple for the small community of Hebron. It’s also so much a favorite that people from miles around come to enjoy the tasty food on the menu! Most famously is the all you can eat fish on Fridays or the broasted chicken. With the fish, you get your choice of either fries or potato pancakes (which are amazing – you can get fries anywhere). Both the fish and chicken are always hot, juicy, and full of flavor! Tables also get a basket of rolls to enjoy too. It’s truly one of the best places to get fish on a Friday night. Be sure to either come early or be prepared to wait at least 30 – 40 minutes… it’s that popular and honestly, it’s worth the wait. They have a full bar as well.

Crandall’s is a solid THREE STARS. It’s supposed to all about the chicken. It’s really good. The kitchen did really good with the (fried) fish and chicken. The dinner rolls are throw-​aways. Service is very good. Crandalls is an old school place with good prices and a family friendly atmosphere.
