Quite literally, this is my favorite bar in California. If they would let me build a small house in the backyard, life would be perfect. But you should stay away. It’s mine! Great drinks, fresh ingredients, amazing sunsets, wine country. Need I say more?

This is one of my favorite places in the Alexander Valley. Nothing is better than coming here right before sunset and having a drink. The view is spectacular and the drinks are top notch. They always use fresh ingredients from their garden. They also allow children to pick the fresh berries if they are in season. Most of the people who come here are locals. On Sundays there is live music and a food truck.

You can’t not like a place like this. A hidden gem in the Alexander Valley where they make hand-crafted drinks with ingredients from the organic garden just outside. Those feeling photogenic can use the photo booth machine just off the bar — warning it says .25 cents, but it’s really $ 1.50. It can get crowded when busses arrive loaded with, for example, a bunch of heavily-accessorized women on ladies weekend from Seattle. I suggest grabbing your drink and sitting outside to soak up the view of the Valley — it’s truly one of those happy moments in your life you will never forget!

Terrific hidden spot. The atmosphere is comfortable, other patrons are friendly, and the drinks are good. The service leaves something to be desired… we sat at the bar for about five minutes watching the bar tender talk to another customer, look in our direction and not acknowledge us. Finally soneone else came and got us our beers. This is not the first time I’ve been ignored here and I wouldn’t keep going back if it wasn’t on my way home from work, definitely wouldn’t go out of my way stop here.

Best cocktails in healdsburg. Stop by for fresh organic ingredients added to great mixed drinks. A great spot for an evening cocktail.

I can’t begin to explain how much I love this place. I used to stop in every week for Margarita Monday’s with my fiancé while I lived in town. Watching the sunset while sipping on the amazing cocktails is by far my favorite thing to do in Healdsburg. I highly recommend this place. It’s like living in a postcard… No really– you have to see the view from the deck. Go at sunset and sit under the little twinkling lights as the sun sets… You’ll be in love too!

I love the new Alexander Valley Bar at Medlock Ames. Its sort of the local, industry hangout. The drinks are all great. They use fresh herbs from the garden for many of them. Local brews on tap, good prices. The furniture is all vintage. They have a photo booth inside that just adds another element to the scene for groups or couples. The patio is great, with several tables that look out into the beautiful Alexander Valley, its the perfect way to end a day of hard work or wine tasting.

I didn’t know what to expect now that the folks at Medlock Ames winery took over the spot. It was a great old local dive bar, replete with a stuffed boar’s head over the back of the bar. I figured they would change it somewhat and they did. It is no longer a dive bar/store but rather a tasting room/bar. I went on their opening day last Saturday. Ames Morison(winemaker) was there pouring the 4 wines. $ 12.50 for the taste of four paired with some nice nibbles. Tasting room is beautiful, modern yet rustic. The bar/speakeasy is not open yet, but we got a tour and it looks fantastic… has that old saloon feel to it… it’s no longer a dive bar, but does have some character to it… will definitely be back to check it out along with the patio area once it’s complete. Wines were very nice, especially the Sauv Blanc and Merlot. Staff was very nice too! Overall I think they did a nice job of updating/modernizing and yet still preserving a bit of history. Check it out!
