What happened here? We used to visit this Chinese Restaurant very often when making trips to the Hazleton area. We paid this place a visit just a few days ago for lunch, our first visit since the«remodel». The food was boring and bland, every sauce tasted watered down. This restaurant used to have good food, bursting with garlic and ginger etc, not anymore I guess. During our last visit we ordered 5 items and even brought some home with us, we ended up letting most of what we brought home go to waste, it was that bad. Oh well, just one less place to eat in a town with very few places to eat.

This place is small, quiet, has an inexpensive buffet, and not too shabby. To eat in, I’d say it rates a 3.5 but it’s the take-out I love, which I give 5 stars(hence my 4 rating). I have never had a less then perfect order here. Everything is always very fresh, delicious, and with great, plentiful portions. The staff is very nice and always makes me feel like they are genuinely happy to see me. It’s easily the best Chinese take-out in town, though often forgotten or over-looked.

Yong Hao Buffet is much smaller than their crosstown competitor. Great for lunch at about $ 7, vs $ 10 for dinner. I thought the quality and variety of the food was acceptable. I found all of the food to be hot and fresh. They also had a nice selection of fresh cut fruit. I would go back again for an inexpensive lunch whenever I am in the area.

This used to be my favorite Chinese buffet. Unfortunately after they remodeled… their food became lousy! The last Two times I’ve been here I had black hair in my chicken and broccoli! Unfortunately I’ll never go back!

Definitely not my favorite Chinese Restaurants in town, but probably the best Chinese buffet if your feeling very hungry. The food is good, but nothing great. There is a decent sized selection, and a lot of Americanized foods as well for the kids or those that don’t particularly like Chinese food. The price is really good too. I moved out of PA a couple years ago, but it was about $ 6 for the all you can eat lunch buffet, and $ 8 – 10 for the dinner buffet. Hard to beat that price for an all you can eat meal. Strangely, one of the best foods available is the huge selection of fresh fruit they put out. It’s always fresh and the perfect way to finish off a huge plate of Chinese food. Some precautions though… I would avoid takeout. The buffet is where the meal is at. Also be weary of what times you go. For example, the lunch buffet runs from 11AM to 3PM. Any food after 1 or 2PM tends to be cold, soggy, and downright nasty since they usually will not replace the food since they are preparing for the dinner swap. If you go before 1 though, the food will usually be great. Overall, a really great place to eat if you are looking for a Chinese buffet and want to stuff your face, but if you want a sit down meal, I would recommend the 5 Star Chinese Restaurant in Hazleton.
