Tennyson Park

This review is for the skate park. My kid and i went here on a sunday 3pm.
Cigarette butts and tobacco covered the entire park. Despite the 2 cameras on poles, for the whole hour we spent there teenagers on one side or other were constantly smoking weed.
Started a conversation with a local kid who pointed out amother kid and said «he is the dealer. And its like this here all the time. «
Then we met 3 kids maybe 9ish. They asked to use our skateboards and we said sure. 5 min later after thanking us thet said you are the nicest people we“ve met here.
I thought maybe the teens would take better care of their sanctuary Instead of using it as a garbage can. Then again. Its Tennyson.
We wont be going back. But it was a valuble lesson for my kid to witness life in a not so fortunate neighborhood.
On a positive note its a well-​designed course and not beginner friendly. Better suited for intermediate and above.

The skate park is good and it’s close to the street, so you don’t have to struggle with gear, if you’re coming from a car.
It was busy, but there seemed to be a good crowd who knew how to take turns. Everyone seemed good with the situation.
It’s a mix of vert and street, and it all fits into a compact location in a corner of the park. The concrete was smooth with no noticeable cracks. There is a metal fence surrounding the skate park, with a couple of openings. There is a fairly open area with a pyramid, and a bowl that wasn’t incredibly deep but sufficiently interesting.

It’s a cool park. Never packed, clean restrooms and a jungle gym. It’s next to a fire station and a liquor store. I like the bowl here because it’s great practice for me :)

Solid skate park in the heart of suburban wasteland. A bit ghetto at times, don’t be surprised to find a few hypodermic needles among the empty MD 2020 bottles and used condoms.
Skate during school hours to avoid a zoo like setting. Way too many roller blade kids and BMX dudes during the peak hours.
Have fun in the shallow bowls or on the many hips. The «street» section is pretty bad but you shouldn’t be at a park if you want to skate street.
