The food is ok but the service sucks! And they charge extra $ 2.00 for chips. My popusad came 15 min after everyone else food and to get someone’s attention to get help is so hard in this place. They literally just walk right pass you. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here again.

Pros: nice, yummy cheese pupusas, and clean locale. Cons: greasy, soft, and super thin pupusas. They seem to only have one pupusera so it takes about 25min to get your order. The place is really small

Best Pupusas. Soooo yummy it sucks how they are closed on Monday. I believe this business is family owned, I never asked. My go-to spot when I’m in the mood for something cheesy and delicious.

Pupuseria Y Taqueria Los Cocos poses a query whether to chose mexican or san salvadorean eats. after a few tries at Mex food in a san salvadorean eatery., i found it prudent to always order Salvadorean eats in a Salvadorean eatery.(Mex fare always too bland and disappointing). eats: –loroco and cheese(2.35), pork and cheese pupusa(2.25) huge patty, tasty cheese, pork and loroco within dash a bit of mild red sauce, put some curtido into a folded pupusa and eat away! *squash usually melts, so i don’t order it anymores. take outs: –only one cook, one cashier on duty, food came slow –eatery too small, cashier called me «Sir» when my order was ready no service problems. –place popular with elderly ladies in midafternoon. would repeat.

Good Salvadorean food, don’t even bother ordering Mexican food, zero flavor!!! Not the place to come if you’re starving, the service is super slow, the waitress was not friendly, be prepared to dehydrate waiting for your water and pay extra for another basket of chips. Overall… just ok.

Best pupusas place around. The pupusas revueltas are the best. Not sure what most of you are talking about, the costumer service is pretty good. All the women are really friendly. Coming back for more!

It’s a good thing that this restaurant is not near my house it’s a cool walking place casual good to get things on the way home I do wish they wouldn’t use styrofoam I’ve had hot food melt the styrofoam I wonder if it’s actually poisonous. The pupusas are awesome I also really like the platanos

My chicken burrito had zero flavor. Slim selection of meats, chicken steak or «spicy pork» I would have asked about the pork but the woman taking my order couldn’t be distracted from watching her TV show. Not going back.

We stumbled upon this place just by chance, I noticed no one was inside so they weren’t busy. Normally for restaurants that I’ve never tried before I start off with something simple and not too expensive. Let’s try their street tacos, you can’t mess that up? The lady behind the counter too my order and my wife and I sat down to browse the menu. Meantime 2 more customers walked in just to order something. There was another person in the kitchen I thought he would be preparing the food but for some reason he left. As we waited off to the side I noticed she did take the new customers orders and cash payments. Then she started making my order I like wait a darn minute! She never stopped to was her hands, now I’m in stay and stand your ground mode or flee and leave. I left, and told my wife I’m not eating that stuff just the thought of person handling food with unwashed hands after handling money makes my stomach turn. I told my wife let’s go, since we haven’t paid yet, why should I have to pay for contaminated food. They should know better and be fully aware of food safety procedures. I left the wife stayed and payed, this is why I start off with cheaper menu items. I told my wife not to eat that stuff so after we got back home I threw it in the garbage!

This pupuseria is not your stay and eat place, too busy and the establishment a little small. The food overall is excellent, except for the pupusas chicharron. I notice lately, they keep mixing beans or something that the pork chicharron does not taste as it was,(You are giving revueltas instead of chicharron which does not taste as good. otherwise I would have give them 5 stars on food rating.

Most of the pupusas were delicious, aside from the flower one, which was too thick and dry. I ordered a few different combos of pupusas, with meats, cheese, and rice. Those were all soft and delicious. Such a damn shame that the customer service is SHITTYASHELL. Also a damn shame that they don’t know how to pack a togo order, which resulted in 80% of a $ 15 soup spilling everywhere. They were rude over the phone. Negative points. When I got there in person, they ignored me for a good 5 minutes. YEP. Completely ignored until they decided to acknowledge my existence and finally see what I needed. I was definitely hard to miss, since I stood RIGHTINFRONTOFTHECOUNTER! I’ve worked in the service industry, so I’m not one to often talk bad about a business. But honestly, good food will only take you so far if your customer service is non-existent. All I want is to be acknowledged when I walk into a place. Whether it be eye contact, a brief«hello» or «I’ll be right with you’. If I want someone talking to me in a rude tone and dumping my soup in the bag… well… I don’t know where else I would go for that actually. Except here. Too bad. too damn bad. The pupusas and the spicy cole slaw might bring me back if there are no other good places around. Good luck.

Pupuseria Y Taqueria Los Cocos is fortunate to have a similar name to Los Cocos Salvadoran Restaurant in Oakland, which is an excellent place to eat pupusas. Unfortunately for me the similarities in both restaurants stop with the name. My review of this restaurant revolves around an employee which clearly has no business working in any type of customer service establishment. Her clear disregard for greeting, attending, connecting and serving her customers is mind blowing. The woman manning the counter was completely dry, unforgiving, and plain rude in her demeaned. While I found the cooks pupusas to be good, I will absolutely never set foot inside this restaurant again. I value customer service far too much to support or recommend restaurants which ignore such an important and vital part of the dining experience.

OMG Floyd R. took me here for my first Pupusa. We ordered too much for me to remember what it all was… but it was all delicious! Cool little family owned spot. Plantanos with creama and rice & beans was amazing. They have this melon drink that you need to try. I will be back soon.

Though it’s hardly the fault of the restaurant, our meal here started off on a really negative note, as a strange guy walked in the minute we sat down, asking for money. We firmly told him no several times, but he persisted, and growing wary of his increasingly erratic demeanor, finally relented and gave him a dollar. I’m not sure why the staff didn’t say anything to him, but it definitely ruined our mood. My wife ordered the queso and frijoles pupusas from here(she’s been dying to try this place for a long time) and I ordered the bistec. The service was sloooowwwww here, and my wife’s horchata took a good 15 – 20 minutes to arrive. The pupusas took about 30 minutes to get to our table, and my course took a little bit longer than that. My wife’s pupusas were fine. They weren’t the most flavorful, even with the curtido(which also wasn’t as tangy as I would’ve wanted it to be, but certainly was not as bad as other reviewers have indicated). They weren’t bad, but they weren’t memorable, either. My bistec fared a bit better. The meat wasn’t as tough as I feared, and the flavors were a nice blend of tang and salt. The yucca chips that accompanied the dish were actually the best part of the meal, and I’d probably eat five more servings of those if I had the chance. The cashier was pretty indifferent to the world outside of her phone, which was probably why it took so long for food to arrive.

First off… If you are going to eat at Los Cocos and not order a pupusa, then why did you decide to eat here?! Los Cocos is known for their pupusas and they are the best I’ve ever had. My wife and I found this place by accident too. On the evening that we ate here we were actually planning on getting a steak sandwich at Bob’s Hoagy Steaks, but it was closed. Los Cocos was located a few doors down, so we decided to eat there. What a great decision it was! I noticed that everyone eating in this place had a pupusa, so that’s what I ordered, along with a carne asada taco. They have about six different pupusas to choose from. The pupusa was great! I actually wish I ordered another besides the taco. When you order a pupusa it comes with some coleslaw. I’m not a big coleslaw fan, but this stuff was amazing and it went perfectly with the pupusa. The slaw was flavorful and had a nice bite to it too. The carne asada taco was good, but I’d recommend staying Salvadorian and chomping on some pupusas. I will for sure be coming back to this place on a regular basis. Thanks Bob for having your steak shop closed on Sundays, because if it wasn’t I probably would have never tried Los Cocos.

I’ll say this right now. All I’ve ever had here are the pupusas. Friends have had other items so I’m mostly going off hearsay from them about the other food choices. The pupusas here are damn good. I had them for the first time last year, and I’ve been coming here ever since. If you don’t know what it is, a pupusa is basically a tortilla stuffed with cheese and a type of meat. I have no idea how this place turns such a simple dish into something as appetizing as it is. To give you a sense of how good this restaurants pupusas really are, I recently went to the SF Street Food Festival. One of the booths there was serving pupusas so I decided to order from it. I was able to read a little bit about the restaurant, and apparently its really famous and makes super good pupusas and the chef has apparently made tens of thousands in her lifetime. This little hole in the wall restaurant’s pupusas were slightly better than the pupusas from this apparently brilliant SF restaurant. My friends have ordered the tacos and the Chiles Rellenos(probably spelling that horribly wrong). The taco’s weren’t anything to brag about according to my friend. Said said they were a little small and kind of lacked the flavor of other Taquerias. But hey, this is a pupuseria not a taqueria so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt on that one. And the chiles rellenos was pretty good according to my other friend. He said it was one of the better ones he’s ever had. The customer service is really great here also. The cashiers are super friendly and they actually know how to smile and make small talk. The place itself is pretty small, but it just provides for more of a homely environment. Price is really good also. The pupusas are pretty cheap and you can get pretty full off only a few bucks. If you’ve never had a pupusa before then you gotta try this place out. I was missing out on these for the first 20 years of my life. Now I can’t think of living without them.

GOHEREFORJUSTTHEPOPUSA’S! They have three choices: cheese beans Chicharon(which is like a pork meat) They put a lot of cheese and a little of the beans and chicharon, but they are so filling and delicious! You have to have it with the cabbage stuff… haha i forget what it is called but they usually bring you a bowl of it and its good. Their rice isnt the greatest. I always go just for the popusa’s. Another review said that they hung up on him, well i believe they only speak spanish… so that might be an issue. You can call in your order or walk in, the place itself is VERY small but i always find a table. The popusas are like $ 2 each, so i can get lunch for like $ 6.00 including a drink. Pretty good deal. Make sure to ask for chips and salsa, they dont always bring it to your table.
