This place is the WORST fish & chicken spot in Hayward. Do not waste your money. They took me for almost $ 15 dollars tonight. The chicken had no flavor, its Peppery. We brought a 8 piece with fries there were very little fries enough for one person & the wing was still attached to the Breast. My thought was how lazy not to cut the wing from the breast. If you want chicken go to Popeye or JJ Fish in San Leandro Much better

This place is terrible! After waiting months for it to open, we were excited to have a new place with something different. We were SO disappointed. First we decided to have Fish & Chips and Shrimp and split them. So we asked them which was better, to place the order separate or to get the combo fish/shrimp plate. They said the combo plate was better as it came with 5 pieces of fish and 12 pieces of jumbo shrimp. When we got home there were only 4 pieces of fish(very small) and only 9 pieces of shrimp. The batter is grainy and greasy. The«chips» — yea they were extremely greasy too and you got about 10 or 20 french fries. We ordered a side of cole slaw for $ 2.00 and it came in a small container only half full! What a rip off. The food was terrible and I was sick the next day. We will NEVER go there again. I have worked in the Food and Beverage business for over 20 years and know this place will never last if they keep up this way. Overpriced food, that doesn’t taste good and small portions. Good luck — you’re gonna need it!

I’m not sure how long this place will be open. I don’t say that based on the quality of the food, but on the history of its location. The latest incarnation is a Fish & Chips & Chicken(!) Stop. The menu is extensive. You can choose from Fish Fillets [catfish, snapper, sole or alaskan cod], fried oysters & shrimp, chicken wings & drumettes [ __pcs. w/fries], sandwiches [philly cheesesteak, pastrami, etc.], chicken tenders [ __pcs. w/fries], poor boys [oyster, shrimp, fish], a variety of sides [red beans & rice, collard greens, fried okra, macaroni salad, to name a few], and a selection of desserts including red velvet cake and sweet potato pie. On this particular visit, we ordered: 1) 2 pc catfish fillet w/red beans & rice 2) Oyster poor boy w/fries 3) 4 pc catfish fillet w/fries The fillets are a good portion size and well-seasoned. On its own it was very flavorful and filling. Unfortunately, the red beans & rice were bland and uninspiring. Even a touch of salt would have helped out the dish. We added a little hot sauce in it to liven it up and only finished it so that we didn’t waste any food. Don’t think we’ll be ordering that again. The oyster poor boy is a HUGE sandwich. There are at least 4 oysters, which are decent-sized and cooked perfectly. It comes with lettuce, tomatoes & red onions. I added a little hot sauce it as well. I would’ve liked more filling, and in the end I left the bread to the side to focus on the oysters. The fries were a huge disappointment to me. The fries that came with the poor boy were a shoddy mixed bag. Some were seasoned, others were cold inside, while some were limpy. Thoroughly unhappy. The high points: friendly staff, flat screen tv’s, catfish fillets are on-point(!), and a wide variety of food. Will definitely be back to try other goodies including the chicken wings, sandwiches, and other sides [macaroni, potato, anything but what we got]. Hopefully it’ll all be good enough to raise my review. *fingers crossed*
