The calamari appetizers were very dry as were the garlic mashed potatoes. We ordered steak medium rare and came out still raw. The waiter was very professional and offered to refire. Next some girl comes over and does not introduce herself I thought she was the cook. She starts asking if we meant to order medium. She was unprofessional acted like steak was cooked correct and we didn’t know better. I had to ask to find out her name was Regina and was manager or hostess.

Yummy food but overall service was relatively slow. Our orders and drinks took way too long to come out, although there were only a few waiters working, our party still waited a long time on a relatively busy night.

Watta horrible experience… broken glass in my jungle colada, fly flying around when we started eating and to top it off found a hair on the plate of my blackened mahi-mahi. Told the manager. He apologized and said he’s going to take care of our food and drink. We end up paying half of the bill. Liar!

So family came to town and really wanted to go here even after we warned them. But maybe they fixed problems from before so tried it again. All i can say us from service to food is just awful. Servers attitude was like she didn’t want to be there, when asked for drink refills she had an annoyed look both times, maybe check on your table and people wont have to ask other servers for you. She earned her dollar tip and I told her as we walked out the door as I handed her the dollar, this is what she earned. Food kinda hard to mess up a salad but hack cooks they have did. Ribs were luke warm. Kids meal had hair in it so he ate some of my and grandparents ribs as it would take 20 min to cook a quesadilla? ?? Chicken my mother in law order could if been used as a weapons. Place just sucks

I had the chicken parmesan and shrimp and pasta. Pretty good but I wish the chicken was a little thicker. Service was really good. The lamb chops looked good as well but I didn’t taste it.

First of all, I have avoided going to The Elephant Bar chain a long time. since my kids last birthday dinner request. Because of the service and food. Here we are again, since it’s my kids choice once again. This time they changed the entire menu which does not look appealing or appetizing. Lucky for us, we had a waiter with a chip on his shoulder because we couldn’t remember his name«Julio.» Kid didn’t eat their burger and nasty nachos and nasty raspberry pancakes and gross potatoes. Horrible food and service!

Food was not prepared correctly. My kids ordered chicken quesadilla but it came with no chicken. I complained and the waiter says it’s just a cheese quesadilla and not meat. I showed him the menu and it was chicken. Really pissed at that time and just wanted to get out of the place. No use waiting another 15 min for the order to get corrected. Waiter had a snooty attitude as well. Thought the Hayward ebar would be w better experience but same old crappy food and service as the other locations. Will not come back.

I used to like this restaurant. but now I Do NOt Like ITALL! First of all, why oh why would you change a menu? Oh. of course maybe because they have change their entire kitchen and the«chef» or maybe they are not a real restaurant at all anymore.

Came here on a Saturday evening. Its was not busy, so we got sat right away. Our waiter finally came and introduced himself, I forgot what his name was. We ordered out drinks and appetizers. There was 3 of us. He brought out 2 waters and 2 plates. Saying he was sorry and that hell bring out one more of each. Which he never did. He then came back and took our order. And never came back to check on us. We orders: *Pork chop with bussel sprout Cole slaw. It was horrible. The meat wasn’t even cooked at the way. Very disappointed. And the waiter didn’t even come to ask how it was. My sister did not want to pay for this meal. But I told her it was OK. *herb crusted lamb chops with green beans and potatoes. It was not the best meal or what I was looking forward too. It was just very simple and plan. I ended up barely touching my plate *half rack of ribs with Caesar salad and sweet potatoe fires. Food was cold! Over all I was very very disappointed in the service and food. We were from outta town and love the elephant bar in sac. So we thought lets go to this one but Haywards elephant bar just ruined elephant bar for me. And I felt that because we looked younger our waiter thought we weren’t going to tip him or what not. Our bill was $ 83, and it was not worth my time or money. But I paid for my food and tipped. I would of rather spent my money else where. Out of all of the places I’ve been. This place was so disappointing. Makes me not want to dine in and eat anywhere

This was our first time in this restaurant. We recently moved to the area and it’s close to home. We went on a Friday around 7:30 pm and we were seated in 10 mins. The waiter was very cordial and the ambiance was cozy; however, our calamari appetizer didn’t arrive. Our waiter said it was«stolen» by another waiter and was brought a different table. I worked as a server in the past and food from the kitchen have table numbers but I don’t know how their system goes. It didn’t seem super busy coz I saw lots of open tables. Aside from the calamari, I ordered the Chicken Marsala and my husband ordered the Lamb Chops. The Marsala was ok, nothing special and a little bland in my taste. The lamb chops was also bland. We’ve tasted better Chicken Marsala and lamb chops from other restaurants. The brownie was good though. Overall, the experience was satisfactory. I would only come here for dinner if there’s no other choice. The presentation was perfect but Please improve the quality of taste of your food.

I like the ambiance but the wait took forever. 45 minutes to be seated. It was a weekend though so I can’t really blame them. The food was alright. Not sure I really wanna come back unless I have some coupons or something.

Bad food, bad service, lady that ushered us to our table was rude… food had no taste no flavor, dried fries used in old oil. Gave my husband food poisoning. Restaurant is just bad news all together. No Stars for Elephant Bar.

This was my first time at this Elephant Bar location and I can say that it is probably my favorite so far. Came here around 5pm during the weekday and it was dead. We sat at the bar and our waitress came to assist us right away. She was the type of waitress that didn’t need to write down the order in order to remember it(yes that is a boss move). Our drinks came rather quickly and we played our order. Everything came very quickly and because it wasn’t busy at all. The food was really good and hot when it arrived. The waitress checked on our table frequently and was very upbeat the entire time which always makes for a good atmosphere. Overall a good place but I can’t say that the service will be the same when the place is busy on the weekends but I would definitely come back if I am around the area.

Ok so I have been to the elephant bar before and always thought it was ok. Mostly because its convinient. Friday night it was busy but not full capacity but they literally had 1 poor waiter doing everything so of course service was slow. We ordered the mammoth platter with nachos potatoe skins and onion rings. The nachos no cheese a square of tomatoe here and there and lots of fresh jalapeños. The onions were good and so were the potatoes. I ask the server for more cheese on the nachos and he takes the whole platter? WTH? By now were starving but drinking at least. Mai thais good but make sure you stir it will! The piña colada coconutty deliciousness! Then they bring out our food and still no nachos! At this point I feel bad for the waiter because hes just continuously apologizing. We ordered kids chicken teriyaki– my niece only ate the chicken left everything else as it was so bland. I tasted all her food. I ordered the petit sirloin 6.5 oz with slaw and onion rings with a glass of cab. Never got the cabernet until about 10 mins later. Then we got the nachos and at that point no one wanted anything and now we felt we were being wasteful. My steak no flavor what so ever just a slab of meat thats it! I think they forgot to season? The manager came over and heard us out was sorry about everything, apologized about the nachos and steak(told him my dogs were gonna eat it) and then comped us everything but the drinks and asked if we wanted free dessert or anything else. We declined but appreciated the gesture. Before we left he gave me a gift card so I can come back and try to enjoy my dinner next time. I was amazed! Hence the 4 stars for stepping up admitting the mistakes and taking the responsibility. Total was 15 dollars for 4 people plus the tip. I will edit this review when I use my gift card :)

The décor is nice and comfortable. The restaurant is essentially one big room, but the way it’s laid out makes it very cozy. The waitress was fantastic. She was efficient, always there when we needed and very pleasant. The food wasn’t great. I ordered the petite sirloin. It didn’t have much flavor. The sautéed spinach was pretty good. The garlic mashed potatoes had a decent flavor, but had a very wooden consistency. The crème brûlée was burnt in places and tasted like a marshmallow that’s been on the fire too long. The restaurant is close to home. I wish the food had been better because it would be very convenient to come back. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back for a repeat performance.

It’s been a while since we’ve been here, hubby got put off by something a while ago… and it still does.sorry. Menu changed and the way the food is presented seems smaller, hubby tried the Cowboy steak which would leave a cowboy to search for another cow! The first attempt, it was over cooked(probably because it was so damn thin!) — 2nd time was better but flavorless — he didn’t finish it. He enjoyed the macaroni, but he didn’t like that the salad came with the meal instead of before… My daughter loved her 6 oz sirloin but really didn’t eat the roasted veggies or the sweet potato fries(she said they were okay, but enjoyed the steak). I had the ½ slab of Kona BBQ Ribs with roasted veggies and Caesar salad — the salad was wilted due to the over dressing. The roasted veggies were odd, the items in the gourd family(zucchini, yellow squash) were over cooked while the carrots were still rock hard — maybe they should but the them thinner, blanch them and then roast them? The ribs were different too, they were bland w/out the BBQ sauce, so does that mean they boiled the ribs? Service was good, the young lady had the bar area and some tables in the dining room, so she was hard to get a hold of but she was very pleasant.

On Sunday(11⁄15), I made a reservation for a party of six at 5PM. I arrived at 5PM and the front desk(Sydney) told us that our wait time would be approximately 20 minutes while they cleaned up a table. We said no problem — we’ll wait at the bar. We ordered a round of drinks(about 60 dollars, 70 with tip) and waited until we finished our drink. Sydney told us that there was no table that would be able to sit us comfortably, and that we would have to either wait longer for a different table, or get two chairs on a table for 4. We mentioned that we don’t mind waiting, and ordered a second round of drinks. After waiting for another 40 minutes, in total for an hour and 10 minutes,(now 6:10PM), Regina came to introduce herself and mentioned that our only option was to take the table for four and bring in two chairs. From the very beginning, she had a hostile attitude and told us that it was OURFAULT for not requesting a table(this was a first time, and we had NOIDEA what the table set up was like). She said that next time, we needed to call and request the specific table at 5PM. Regina also mentioned to us that we could either take the table, or «go elsewhere.» We paid the tab for the drinks(totaling 120 dollars for 6 people) and left. We don’t need to dine in a hostile environment with a manager that knows nothing about customer service. I’m not sure how Elephant Bar’s employee training works, but it was humiliating and rude for a manager to tell us that it was our fault for not mentioning the specific table, as well as not being transparent about the wait time or tables available. It may be that Regina had a bad night prior to this incident. However, there was no reason for the attitude towards us. She treated us like it was a take it or leave it situation and offered no sympathy or flexibility. All six of us were surprised that Regina had a manager’s role there. I spoke with Sydney who was working near the bar and she mentioned that Regina often takes up this type of behavior against their customers. I left additional feedback on your Facebook page, as well as Unilocal,Open Table, and Google +. I left my phone number on the form — feel free to reach out to me there. I’m Extremely disappointed with the way Elephant Bar treated me and my family.

Manager brought our food and placed mine down first on the end of the table. Then put the others down and totally got her jacket all up in my food and when I told her she didn’t say anything! Just moved her jacket. No replacement or sorry or anything. Then brought me a water with food stuck to the inside of the glass. Yuck! Not going back.
