I headed over to the market section of grand park yesterday to check out this food truck for the first time. The menu was creative. They had salmon, pulled pork waffle sandwich, yaki soba noodles and a burger. I decided to go with the chicken sandwich and garlic fries. The chicken sandwich was also creative. It had homemade cheese sauce, chiles, red cabbage/onions and blue tortilla chips. The chicken was slightly charred with random spices and on a brioche bun. The sandwich was pretty flavorful, I get mostly taste the Chile and red onion, I could barely taste the cheese. the fries weren’t very fried, but very garlicky. I think they weren’t very fried because they originally gave me regular fries so they rushed to give me garlic fries. The sandwich was pretty tasty andb they served it pretty fat and for $ 12 it was a pretty good deal.

My first time trying the food at CrativEats. I ordered a Regular burger and fries. The 5-Stars are for my food being exactly as I ordered it and my food was freshly hot and they’re good customer service. I wasn’t expecting a amazing burger, though it would have been a nice surprise, very few trucks are. I was simply craving a regular beef burger and fries, although, I would have liked some mayo or thousand island on my burger that they didn’t have but maybe they’ll read this and carry it for other customers. It was pricy $ 13, but I knew I would spend around $ 10 or so, it’s a food truck! And it saved me a trip walking a half of a mile and my time to go to another burger place where I know I would have had a tastier burger for half the price, but their truck was conveniently a thousand feet away and I appreciated them being there. :)

Overall, it’s 3.5, rounding up to 4 star because of the nice staff. CreativEats is one of the food trucks kind enough to stop by at our work since work does not feed us these couple weeks. They have quite a few choices for entrees: Grill Salmon($ 11), Sandwiches & Burgers(I think it’s $ 7-$ 10), even Chicken & Waffle. I think there’s a salad too. Since prices include tax & tips(if you want to tip extra, there’s a tip jar), I think most of the entrees were reasonable priced(could knock a dollar off on some the sandwiches, but oh well) For sides, that’s another story: Garlic Fries(a full container) is $ 5 and regular Fries is $ 4. They also offer Bottled water & soda @ $ 2, Mexican coke @$ 3. I had Pulled Pork Waffle Sandwich served with syrup($ 9) with an order of garlic fries($ 5). Food is made to order, it took a few minutes. Staff service was nice. Pulled pork was nice, the waffle got a bit soggy toward the end, but overall was a good meal. I might grab another lunch from them if they return next week.

Food is whatever… I won’t complain about the costs like most people– it’s a food truck, they are always pricey. But I ordered sweet potato fries which is basic but even that was screwed up. I waited 35 minutes for fries that were cold and the chipotle sauce is really just pink colored mayo. I am having trouble understanding how you fail at fries. And any business should be considerate that people are on their lunch breaks, if you can’t handle a simple order of fries have the courtesy of returning the money if you won’t complete the order in at least 10 minutes!

Fresh, fresh, fresh! Quality ingredients, made to order. Nothing comes out of the microwave or the freezer. I ordered the salmon and broccolini, and asked for it «rare». We had a giggle over that, because basically that means«toss it on the grill for a few seconds, just enough to sear the edges.» But because the fish is fresh and high quality, it was perfect. Yum. Can’t wait for them to come back!

Ordered the crab cake sandwich and shrimp po boy. The food looked so good. I couldn’t wait to dig in. Took a bite and the bread began to fall apart. I was surprised because the bread looked amazing. Sadly, it was anything but. It was incredibly stale and dry. The cabbage on the crab cake sandwich was much too bitter and needed something to balance it out. I wasn’t a fan of the crab cake itself or the shrimp. The flavors just weren’t impressive. Disappointment city.

I cannot say enough good about this truck. I’ve had at least half the menu now and everything is GREAT. The salmon is the stuff dreams are made of and I would eat the goat cheese quesadilla every day of my life if I could. And to call the service great would be an understatement. She always remembers my name and he’s hooked me up on extras so many times. BESTTRUCKEVER!

So my friend orders yakisoba and asks the woman if anything is not vegetarian in the dish. They spend a while going over the ingredients to ensure it is vegetarian friendly. Later we get her order and there’s shrimp strewn across the yakisoba. I go up to the truck in front of Claremont Craft Ales and tell the man my friend wanted it vegetarian, and if he can make it vegetarian. He instantly got hostile. Raised his voice and told me we did not order it vegetarian. He raises his voice saying that the receipt says we ordered it with shrimp. I guess our give minutes verifying that it was vegetarian friendly and requesting no shrimp is a lie. I don’t raise my voice and just ask him to fix it. The man begrudgingly does so. Worst customer service ever. Essentially calling us liars when we just spent five minutes verifying dietary restrictions. We weren’t even confrontational. I hope Claremont Craft Ales doesn’t bring them back after this encounter on May 2nd.

This truck came to my workplace today and I tried it after reading the reviews here. I had the turkey burger with pineapple and pepper jack on a hawaiian bun, along with an order of sweet potato fries. Both were excellent. The portions were large, much better than most food trucks offer. My coworker had the grilled cheese sandwich, which she stated was also very good. The food took about 10 minutes to come out, but the truck had not been running for long, so that could explain the wait. The staff was very friendly and they accept credit cards, which is a big plus. Hopefully this truck comes back and I can try the chicken and waffle combo!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I spent $ 16 for fries and a burger, and the truck would not give me a single napkin after a random girl spilled her chipotle sauce on my shoe. There was a visible stack of napkins behind the counter.

Always a dilemma for lunch in DTLA. Today I choose CreativEats, and so happy I did. I ordered the Salmon and Broccolini. They asked how I liked it cooked, and I replied as well as reasonable. The outcome was perfect. The salmon had deep char marks from the grill, and what tasted like a semi-sweet vinaigrette. No fishy taste at all, and it was light, and flaky, and cooked well. It was the best salmon I have had in as long as I can remember(maybe ever), and salmon is one of my favorite foods the last 25 years. The broccolini(which looks like, but is actually not broccoli) was great as well. Taste like it was sautéed in garlic and olive oil. I will definitely try them again: D

For a truck, the preparation time is extremely slow. There wasn’t a line and I had to wait at least 15 minutes for my order. I know, that isn’t a lot at a restaurant, but for a truck during lunch time, that really cuts into your time. I got the grilled cheese and sweet potato fries. The bread as overly greasy and the cheese was not fully melted. The fries were pretty good and they gave so many that I barely finished half. Overall, the meal left me feeling heavy and fatty. Maybe I’d give it another shot, but I’m not sure.

The green chile cheeseburger was perfection! They were out of some other items and I ordered it and wasn’t expecting it to be such a perfect burger! Today I tried the turkey burger which was good just not amazing.

@CREATIVEATS This is a fairly new truck on the scene and I’m going to do something I don’t normally do. I’m reviewing them based on one small thing that I tried. The item I tried was a guava and goat cheese quesadilla. Yes, really, that was my reaction too! I thought that’s a very strange combination so it must work, right? Trust me it works. The goat cheese is beautifully melted smooth, creamy deliciousness with an underlying sweetness from the guava. This is a small bite with a BIG punch. Some of the other offerings on their menu looked equally intriguing. I assume their menu changes because it’s not posted on line and it’s a hand written white board on the trucks. So yes, based on one small item this truck gets a 4 star rating from the stalkers. …And their Stalker Approved!
