Now this place is cool if you’re looking to relax have a beer and cool down after a nice day of work you know the usual. But if you plan on partying here don’t plan on staying to late. There’s always the same gangsters that stay get drunk and bang on you and will try to fight you. They think they run the place because they have no where else to go on weekend LOL other than that Bartenders are really sweet decently poured drinks good loud music.

The bartender was super sweet and very helpful and the music was a good mixture but the low rating is for the actual people. I’ve grown up in this city my entire life and I always stayed away from this bar and now I know that my instincts were right. At the end of the night in the back parking lot With guys threatening to bring guns and all of that none sense, because of a disagreement?! It’s just something I don’t have time for. It was cool to go once but never again. Maybe it’s not like that all the time but I’ll stick to places I feel safe at.

Bartenders now how to make drinks. People that go there are fun even if u don’t now them u will be for u leave

i love this place. i am unfamiliar with the area, and Unilocaled «bars» on a sunday. great service, fun atmosphere and diana made us feel at home!!!

First time here… its sunday afternoon… nice music playing… bartenders are decent I guess… not really inviting but whatever… my drink is ok… pours are off but then again I know actual counts… probably wont be back but it was close to my house so… not too bad also its a really drunk crowd this early so be prepared for screams in your ears oh and this drink was $ 12…lol what a joke never again… d money is nice tho

Servers Victoria and Diana are amazing! For a humble small sport bar they sure do know how to get the night started. The dj was cool playing old skool, new hip hop, songs to dance to, and late night Mexican like Banda type goodness. Taco man in the parking lot is legit too. I had a great time but then again the company was great so come with a group of drinking buds ready to play pool, drink and lots of DANCING! S U A V E M E N T E !!!

Came here on a Saturday night with a few friends to check this place out, which was something I wanted to do since it was Barney’s back in the day, and just to, you know, support local business and what not. Then it changed to Tropicana and we were like «hell yes», and now it’s Tropic Lounge. Whatever.
We came around 9pm and the place had a few people here and there; the DJ was blasting hits from 2007, and the music was too loud to have a conversation. We were greeted immediately and our waitress was nice, so there was that. Also, my friends and I all agreed that this place was surprisingly well-​furnished and clean; I know I just imagined a Moe’s Tavern set up, like in «The Simpson’s», lol. We all ordered Midori Sours to start us off and they were 7 bucks a pop, and BELIEVE YOU ME when I say they were watered down as heck. I’m not usually one to comment on the alcoholic potency of my drink, but I don’t think it’s ever been necessary before coming here. For some reason, I ordered another one after that but with less ice (because I finished the previous one in like 3 sips), and same thing.
By now it’s probably 10, 10:30, and the dance floor is poppin’, but not really. I mean the music really wasn’t great lol. And the vibe wasn’t great either… but the bar was more full at this point. I think I would have been able to ignore the poor music choices if I had more alcohol in my system, but I think I’m still at 0% so it was not fun. I was truly baffled that there were people who came here to party because they are probably regulars and this was probably fun for them. Like, they could have gone somewhere a little farther away and had a way better time. Maybe they pre-​gamed it. Perhaps that is the key…
Let’s say it’s like 11pm now, and our whole posse has arrived (we were waiting on one more person), and we wanna do S-​H-​O-​T-​S! But really only like 3 of us end up wanting to do shots. Hol’ up doe, shots are $ 8 a pop. Say whaaat? How? This is H.G., not Hollywood, and even Hollywood knows that’s not what shots cost. So they decide to get a beer instead, which was like $ 1 overpriced. Then we DIP because that was whack. And the music/​vibe isn’t getting any better because there is literally no alcohol in our system.
The only plus that came out of this is that they were selling Doritos for $ 1/​bag, so me and my friend had some because we were hungry lol. Also there was like an L.A.-style hot dog stand (possibly bacon-​wrapped; cannot confirm) in the back of the place. The smell was wafting in when we were in the bar, but I just thought they served food or it was a nearby barbecue or something, idk. But if they are there every weekend, that is pretty cool, because I KNOW I’m not the only one who craves those L.A. hot dogs on the reg, so having them right by my house is cool. :-) So the lesson here is that you probably have to pregame it, aaaaaaand… yeah that’s it, pregame it. Maybe go somewhere else.

Totally awesome bar! I always have a great time when I’m here! Bartenders are so friendly especially Diana and Maggie there the best! And it’s also managed by a really friendly manager sarah! Friendly local bar!

Overall, great venue. Bartender Diana was really great and bar manager Sarah knows how to run a great bar. Always have a good time, great music, good vibes, and the best minchalada!!! Must try place. Won’t regret it

First time here during the beginning of 4^th July weekend and was not disappointed. Cool clean lil place with a dance floor, pool table and friendly staff. Diana was our bartender to help our get out festivities started for Americas birthday. She was very helpful and friendly. Nothing but good vibes at this place. Sarah the bar manager was very attentive to everyone’s needs and met meet expectations of a responsible manager. And they got a pretty kool popcorn machine lol but overall had a kool experience and am definitely coming back.

Right when I walked in I was greeted with open arms. Diana, the bartender, was very friendly and accommodating. This place is a perfect place to hang out after work, kick it with friends and to host parties. This bar offers plenty of entertainment. It has a dance floor with a DJ, a pool table for all you pool sharks and drunk billard players, a juke box to cater to all genres of music, and a dart board!!! I love this place! In addition, the manager, Sarah, is very accommodating– attends to your needs, deals with any issues you may have and willing to assist with any events you may want to host at the bar!!! This bar is the go to bar!!!

You’re located in Hawaiian Gardens, not Hollywood, so don’t charge that type of prices. Otherwise the layout is ok. There’s actually a dance floor so that’s kinda cool.

One star because the inside was decent… except the broken ladies’ bathroom lacking toilet paper the WHOLE night… No other stars awarded because the drinks are over priced for what they are. I asked for 3 Washington Apple SHOOTERS. The bartender used ONE shot of Crown Royal for ALL THREE SHOOTERS! and half a shot of sour apple liquor. Then filled the rest with mixer. Also, the shooter glasses werent even half full, making them less than a shot. A SHOOTER is not the equivilent of a SHOT. One of the bartenders also talked about how beligerantly drunk she frequently gets at work and goes on to explain (unasked) how she blacks out on the regular. I ended paying $ 58 for 3 shooters and 2 shots of mid grade tequila! I live in Hawaiian Gardens, and this WOULD be my go to bar, but now I am willing to walk an extra 10 mins to the next one down lincoln.

this place is great, friendly people, great drinks, good music, cheap pool. No bull here, its a local place I think. Awesome attentive bartenders:) I will be back plenty of times!

OMG! It creeps me out when places I like have not been reviewed! Especially when they have high clientele!
Well, let me start off by saying that this place is a dive. NOT A DUMP dive. just a little dive bar that’s down the street from my house. Back in the days it used to be hella ghetto but it’s cleaned up a lot now.
They got new owners and renamed it. I like it cause they play a variety of music, serve tacos outside and their drinks are reasonably priced. The Owner is cool peoples and I know this because we connected when he told me he was from my dad’s father’s hometown in Chihuahua, MX. After that he bought me a few drinks and his wife is the bartender.
I haven’t been there in awhile because I’ve been concentrating on my studies but EVERYTIME I drive past on a Friday or Saturday there are HELLA people outside smoking at least 10 – 15 everytime I drive by. It leaves me the craving of wanting to go. haha
I like this spot also cause the cops don’t really mess with you in Hawaiian Gardens not to mention it’s an on the freeway off the freeway type of deal! love that! … The area has a repoutation for being ghetto but to me? Back in the days it used to be but not anymore. Although, you will catch a few locals here and there but theres no trouble. The crowd is always nice to me and my gay (male) best friend… so to grab a drink and listen to some tunes and possibly shoot some pool… it’s not to bad ;)
