Bob at Romanos, who is not open on Sundays, opened up his store, fired up the ovens and cooked 20 pizzas for our Special Olympics track meet on June 12, 2016. What a great big heart!

What a difference a year makes. Staff seems to have changed and so has the quality. Last Saturday I ordered a Chicken Cutlet Calzone. I have had it before and was really looking forward to it. What I got were what appeared to be fried chicken chunks, a bit of cheese and a little bit of sauce, it appeared to be the driest calzone I’ve ever had. My wife ordered a BLT sub and specifically requested extra bacon prepared extra crispy. What she got was a sub with mostly lettuce, a couple diced tomatoes and wilted limp bacon that was anything but extra crispy and didn’t appear to be more than a typical amount of bacon. We ordered another BLT for my Dad and though my wife’s was marked«extra» there appeared to be about the same amount of bacon. In the past when we ordered BLT with extra bacon, extra crispy it was literally loaded with bacon that was crisp and crumbly — most satisfying. I am sorry to say this visit was most disappointing. After practically gushing over this place a year ago it certainly appears something has slipped and not for the better.

Don’t know what to say, It seems like things have changed. Pizza is so so. I ask for extra cheese and get close to nothing. Whats up with that? I think they need a new pizza maker.

Romano’s is great! I absolutely love the skinnies. It’s so hard to find a healthy take out option that isn’t a salad. Actually, the skinnies are probably healthier than most takeout salads! The fact that the nutrition facts are posted is sooo helpful. We discovered Romano’s a few weeks ago and we’ve already ordered from them three times. Update– the one downside– food takes forever when it’s delivered. I was quoted 45 minutes… An hour and a half later no food :-(

THEONLYPLACE I KNOW where you can order an «Italian sub» and it won’t automatically come with lettuce and tomatoes!!! So aggravated. I’ve been ordering Italian subs forever! I’ve even worked in a few sandwich shops myself — and never have I ever seen this before. My sub was delivered, upon opening it up. I found nothing but meat and cheese. I called the place up, and the girl answering the phone told me that you have to «say that you want these» during placing the order! Should I just make my own sandwich too? I’ll be sure to not order subs here again!

Decent pizza joint in area. Romano sub with meatballs and chicken fingers was phenomenal. Pizza is ok, could use more sauce, cheese and crust both good. Friendly employees and staff.

Just ordered take out salads. Great prices, delicious salads — fresh! Not just a couple of cuke and/or tomato slices. Delivery was FREE and quick, delivery person was very friendly and well mannered. This is going to be my go to salad place during the work week! Nice job.

We keep WANTING to love this place but I have to say we are finally giving up. The food is good but if you need delivery you cannot order from Romano’s ~ whether you call on lazy Wednesday afternoon or a busy Saturday they always take ATLEAST an hour to deliver. They tell you 45 minutes because they know an hour means folks will cancel and order elsewhere and the when you call back after an hour they give you the«he left a little while ago and we had a lot of orders» speel. Ordered what used to be their trademark Chicken Parm subs today and for some reason instead of nice, moist cutlet they had sliced the cutlet all up into pieces which made for a lot of dry surface area… and that was before we realized we had to microwave a freshly delivered sandwich because they had taken so long to deliver that they were no longer hot. Please be clear: this is the umpteenth time we have attempted to use their delivery and it has never gotten here in less than an hour and never without a second phone call to look for order. Too many other reliable places in Haverhill with fresh, hot food and prompt delivery to put up with this any longer. They need to either manage their deliveries better or don’t even offer the service because it sinking their business the way it being applied.

Great pizza! It’s so hard to find in Haverhill. They have Italian style while most places are Greek. Their menu has more variety than a typical sub shop. We had the cheeseburger club pizza with extra sauce. It was a pretty good amount of sauce but I think I’ll try extra extra sauce next time. Garlic sticks are tasty. Can’t wait to try their other menu items: paninis and skinny” pizza next!

I order a large steak tip with onions and peppers. At the end on both sides of the sub 3 inches of just bread. I would have rather paid a few more dollars and get a sub full then empty. Only reason I give 3 out of 5 my niece goes here all the time and said it’s not always like this. But my visit was a 1 star if that.

I just started ordering from Romano’s recently. I have to say thst the pizza is very good. I ordered the«classic» recently and enjoyed every bite. Its hard to find really good pizza, and iI think I was busy when I called and had to wait an hour for delivery, but it was worth it. I am getting ready to order again. I also had a steak and cheese sub, ordered a large, and it was enough for three people… very good!

I’ve been coming here ever since I moved next door from Austin. Great food and friendly staff. I generally stick to the subs and burgers since I can have pizza only once and a while. So far everything I’ve had always is great.

First of all I have to say. when you come to this amazing Pizza shop… be sure to give a shout out to Bobby G! He is the owner of this fine establishment and a really funny-down to earth guy who makes sure you are family when you stop in and get some grub! Since I am a chick and usually watch my calorie intake if I can help it when I am ordering food, it was refreshing to see that a pizza shop had a «skinny» section of the menu. When you think of low calorie, or reduced fat, usually the food doesn’t taste as good as the full calorie meal. Let me just say that there are a number of thin crust pizzas with limitless toppings at 500 calories or less.(There may be more in some of them, but each item on the skinny menu have all the stats posted). I ordered the buffalo chicken«Skinny Dipper». When it comes out it looks like a large regular sized pizza with a thinner crust. I never thought i’d be able to finish it all but after one bite I was in heaven and couldn’t stop! My honey ordered the buffalo chicken Alfredo, and that was unreal as well. We will be back for sure! Thanks Bobby G!

The food was great but I placed an order online on a Friday night and it took 2 hours for it to be delivered. I won’t order from them again unless I can pick it up.

I love the pizza here, it tastes almost like papa Gino’s which is my favorite. They have good specials sometimes like you pay the amount of the time you call in. I think that’s on Mondays. I never had anything else here besides the pizza but its just so good I can’t even think about getting something different.

Usually we get the pizza which is always good with a variety of delicious toppings. I love their sauce. Its a great flavor with just the right amount of spices. The secret to a good sub is great bread. This place has good bread. Their Pita is soft, warm and so good. Major Yummmm! Tonight we got salads and was a little disappointed. The tomato mozzarella had a lot of fresh mozzarella over Romaine leafs with diced tomato pieces. The tomatoes were not completely ripe. Next time I would do dressing on the side and they should add fresh basil. The chef salad had turkey, ham and cheese with shaved carrots, cukes, tomato slices, and jalapeño peppers over iceberg lettuce. My biggest pet peeve is iceberg lettuce when its mostly the heart. This salad was 80% iceberg heart. Luckily the portions are huge so throwing away ½ of it still filled the pita pocket. We asked for extra bread which was ½ a pocket.(i guess regular bread is ¼ of a pocket) It must be said that the best part is the bread.

Pretty good subs! ANDHUGE. Normally we order from another pizza place, but they were closed on Easter. We decided to try Romano’s instead and were pleased with their product. We ordered large subs, not realizing that«large» is about two feet long. Definitely enough for two meals! It explains why each sandwich was more expensive than we thought it would be. I got a chicken finger sub and Husband got a steak and cheese. Both had a very good flavor. Delivery arrived pretty quickly, too.
