This place does wonderful work. Its made up of volunteers who truly care about the animals and dedicate their time to doing a wonderful thing. I do have to say that a dog on the website is not yours until everything is confirmed/paid. But just because you didn’t get the dog you really thought you wanted, doesn’t give anyone a reason to say NEVER adopt from this place… what an awful thing to say about a rescue. Nicole L. sounds like a spoiled brat that didn’t get her way. And the adoption fees are put to good use by saving more dogs. People who truly understand and know the work these places do can appreciate it! I know I do!

One tail at a time is an extremely responsible and conscientious rescue organization. They do look seriously into all potential adopters and may be considering more than one at a time if they receive several applications for dogs, as the lady in the comment below found. However, this is normal if they receive several applications and the amount of legwork they put into finding the correct adopter shows how much they care. The adoption fee is necessary as it includes shots, spaying, a vet check up, and transportation from the South where the amount of high kill shelters is abundant. The fee is certainly worth it as just spaying the puppy will often cost close to $ 400. No one in this organization is making any money off of what they do, they are all just passionate, hard working, and kind people. They also do personality tests with the dogs to determine temperament. I foster dogs occasionally for this organization and I have been nothing but impressed by the way it is run.
