First It has a enclosed square type bar, which I love. Second the bartender was polite, personable, and quite cute. Don’t remember her name but she had blond hair and tattoos on her arms. The next thing I noticed is that it was a very locals bar but the clientele was very diverse… i like that! The have an over priced jukebox… the ones connected to the internet so you could pick just about any song imaginable. You might have to ask them to turn up the volume because I think they turn it down quite often. They also have some large arcade type game whereas you can play a variety of bar type games like cornhole or darts, it’s kind of hard to explain… but it looked fun. They also had what appeared to be free WiFi… but when I connected it was extremely slow… maybe the router just needed to be rest. On to the meal. The app was great, we had the trio Potato skins, mozzarella sticks, and hot wings… all perfect. The wings were kind on the small side but they were prepared very well. Fabulous selection of beers, mostly local, some REALLY local. All night I drank the brown shugga from Lagunitas… awesomely sweet. Where I went wrong was in my choice of entrée. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich… meh…didn’t like the bread it came of, the chicken was very thin… seemed flattened and the sauce was so thin that I made the sandwich sloppy and hard to eat… wasn’t to thrilled with it. Fries were great though! I’ll come back and give this place another shoot… I just think I ordered the wrong item, next time I’m going to try a steak instead. My wife had some steak on toast and she seemed to like it a lot. Only other thing I can say is that I think parking can be a bit tough and the street you have to cross to get there is a bit rough with no cars wanting to stop for you to cross.

Heights Bar & Grill is meant for sharing appetizers with friends. I don’t think I would come here and order an actual meal. The atmosphere is definitely like a rundown bar with a lightly funky smell to it, but I’ve been here twice, so it clearly didn’t bother me the first time I went. The first time, I came with a couple coworkers for an outing. The second time was with my boyfriend. In both cases, we ordered a few appetizers and drinks and had a good time. A few of the dishes we got were the nachos, wings, pizza, loaded fries, etc. It was your typical bar food — nothing special. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. The only thing I really didn’t like was the pineapple juice. I’m not sure how you go wrong with pineapple juice, but it was horrible. Maybe I just got a bad glass the first time, but it wasn’t worth the gamble the second time around. Otherwise, it was a fun time. I wouldn’t go back again unless my coworkers suggested it again. But there are better places to go in the area.

It’s a good local kinda bar. Beer is good. But please don’t order cocktails here. I ordered a cosmopolitan as the server told it was happy hours and it was just 5 bucks, but I don’t know why but it tasted so weird. Something that I couldn’t take in. I asked my server to change my drink and giving me a look she changed it. This time I ordered my love margarita. But, I’m really sorry heights bar and grill people but it had that same weird taste. After that again I asked my server to change it. I asked her to make it a bit less strong. I don’t know what she did now but it tasted ok to take it in. My friend also ordered margarita and it again tasted weird. I know how margaritas taste so believe me I know it was not the thing that it was strong. But something else. Nonetheless, beers are good here so I’m gonna choose them always when I hit this place. About the food, nachos and thin crust pizza got soggy too soon to even eat. Didn’t try burgers here but I’ll try them when I go next as I saw some good reviews on them here. One thing our server suggested was some fried green beans. I loved that. It tasted so good. That I see myself taking that as takeouts a lot of times. Buffalo wings were just ok. Overall it’s your average around the corner bar.

Craft beer and great food! Love this place and its bartenders. Always a go to spot when we are unsure of where to go. Sweet potato fries are wonderful and so are the wings. One of the better bars in the area.

Heights Bar and Grill i’ve been to many time now, given I live right in town. the place has really fantastic burgers and drink specials during the week. The only reason this place didn’t get 4 stars is simply the ambiance and service is very hit or miss. I’ve been there where the place is packed house, tons of younger adults and older crow enjoying themselves. I’ve also been there with 1 – 2 people sitting at the bar no music playing and tv sound off… Lastly, i’ve been there where it was a little bit in the middle, enough people to create a nice vibe from older crowd to younger crowd; people eating dinner or just grabbing drinks. Some of the waitresses have been on point and some… not so much. Its to inconsistent to give a solid 4 stars but it doesn’t deter me from going there every so often for good bar food and solid drink specials. I’d check it out if you’re in the area but if you catch em on a bad day, don’t let that deter you from trying again.

As a neighborhood bar should be — as expected — filled with locals after a hard day — full of laughter & rooting for their favorite team. The Pizza has such a thin crust — it may not fill you up. Unfortunately the juice of any added tomatos makes the crust soggy before you can finish. The apple crisp & high quality ice cream is wonderful. The Guinness the correct temp & and served in a large glass brimming. The wait staff, of course friendly, attentive, and knowledgable of their menu variety.

I went here one time and one time only, I see no reason to ever return. I had just moved to the neighborhood and stopped in for a drink with my girlfriend. We were ignored at the bar for a good ten minutes, and it was not at all busy. When we were finally served, it was pretty clear we were not welcome as we were not«regulars.»

The food is great here… burgers are delish! Not to mention you can get your burger cooked and made just about any way you wish! However the service is lacking and the inside is a little dirty. I used to live in this area and throughout my time spent here, the bar definitely got grosser and grosser every time I went. Our last night in our apartment, my room mate and I went here for dinner to say goodbye to our favorite burgers. It was a Thursday night and the place was empty, only a few people sitting at the bar. With 5 bartenders/waitresses loudly talking behind the bar, it took about 15 minutes to even get menus and or noticed. It was very frustrating and annoying. The food was good but the lack of service and attention to cleanliness will not have me making the trip to my old neck of the woods for a burger. There are way better places to go!

Have you ever heard from people: «Finding my soulmate is the best thing that has ever happened to me» … well guess what — I found my soulmate burger and hand cut fries at The Heights Bar and Grill. Finally! And this is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I ordered a brewhouse burger with a fried egg(medium rare). The older gentleman promised it in 10 minutes and on the 11th minute, I took a step back and embraces the moment. The first bite was juicy and big! My eyes lit up of the excitement in my mouth. The combo of the Jack Daniel Sauce, mushrooms, onions, provolone cheese — all mingled oh so well. The temperature on the meat was perfect. The size of the meat– perfect(½lbs meat). While the service was fairly quick and distant I still feel it was a pleasant environment to sit down and relax. I am actually planning to go to happy hour next week for BOGO Mondays(as told by other Unilocalers) and get a better feeling of the place and beer options. Updated review forthcoming soon.

Weds trivia night was fun and well-organized(spoiler alert: I remember nothing from high school and lost). There are TV screens so you can hear AND see questions, scores, etc. Nachos were not good. Don’t get them.

Neighborhood place for a drink and a snack. Typical bar menu. They use long tubes instead of pitchers for groups. Friendly staff.

I haven’t tried the food but as far as bars go this place is ideal for drinking and chilling. Atmosphere is very low key and relaxing. Mostly locals. Didn’t see any guidos or douche bags around lol. On the Saturday night I was there, it was mostly a younger crowd of people watching the game. Since It’s a sports bar, there are TV’s everywhere. Lots of bar stools and table seating. Drink prices are reasonable. Bartenders were quick and friendly. They definitely serve food until late but I’m not sure how late. The wings smelled awesome so next time I’m here I’ll have to try the food. I just wish I lived closer so I could frequent more often. FYI, it’s street parking only but it’s Hasbrouck Heights so parking isn’t that big of a pain in the ass. Also, most importantly, they have some craft beers on tap. Pretty sweet.

–Great Food –Great Drinks –Great Music Came here the other night for my best friends graduation party, we got to sit in the«private» seating area which is really nice. We did a family style kinda thing for this event it started with a huge house and a huge ceaser salad(both delicious), followed by a beautiful caprese salad, shortly after out came the buffalo and bbq wings that were so good! Can’t forget the fried calamari. for entrees we had penne with vodka sauce then shortly after out came a fried lemon chicken and baked tilapia in a white wine sauce. For dessert we ended up getting cupcakes from mr. cupcakes in Oradell. After the party we all stayed and hung out at the bar, really large space with a lot of tv’s and seating areas. They also have the jute box and a few games that you can play while you were just hanging out. We all had a great time and I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other food on the menu such as one of these amazing burgers everyone is talking about!

How have I never written a review here. Great specials like BOGO beers on Mondays and $ 3 mug night on Thursdays. Pretty decent pub food… Do NOT get the steak. Stick to wraps and burgers. The burgers are AWESOME. I have never had a problem with the service… drinks filled promptly and nice servers… Great football specials in season too. Burgers about $ 10 … wraps $ 9-$ 10… meals $ 12 plus GREAT mozz sticks, awesome burgers, great buffalo! Go and check it out

Great to see Jack is still behind the bar. Great local watering hole. Food is solid. Buck a piece sliders a welcome touch. Beer towers are fun when you a have a group. This is not craft beer place but they have more than bud and coors light on tap

If I could rate this place on the burger alone, I’d give it 5 stars. I don’t know what’s in it but it’s delicious. Also, on Thursday nights, they will fill up any cup you bring for $ 3 with domestic drafts. I saw someone once bring in a glass that looked like Das Boot from Beerfest haha. The service here is almost consistently awful, regardless of whether you sit at the bar or at a table. Occasionally you’ll be surprised and get a good server but it’s usually pretty terrible. The bartenders will forget about your food, check their phones incessantly and give you dark stares(doesn’t matter if you get the younger girls or the older woman) if you dare to ask for another beer when they’re not ready to give you one. Also the crowd can be very bro/tanning chickish on some nights. I don’t mind that too much because you’ll overhear something funny or see someone get shot down trying to pick a girl up but just be forewarned, this isn’t the old Heights. You won’t see that old dude playing music from his laptop for the bar(actually, it’s a plus that he’s not there anymore). Go for the burger and a beer on Thursday nights or just get the burger to go.

I have read the other reviews I don’t get it Best burgers not, maybe just below ok ! I live in town and like being able eat locally but it’s getting harder and harder to stop in. I’ve asked the waiters to talk to the cook but it doesn’t seem to matter. I LOVE my burgers but these just don’t cut it .the fries used to be the best around are over done and dry .the French onion soup I’m not sure what was the grainy stuff in it. i don’t see myself going back but I always hope that they change the cook so I can enjoy to eat locally again.
