All the locals go here, and I try to make it to the Mason Jar every weekend I’m at the Cape. I’ve had all the sandwiches and they are terrific. The desserts are yummy, but especially the carrot cake. I love this place.

Best chicken salad I’ve had anywhere! Ive grabbed the chef salad several times also, always fresh, and the salad gas a scoop of coleslaw and potato salad which is a bonus.

Yummy sandwiches and friendly staff! Get them to go, stick them in your cooler, and head to the beach.

Best potato salad and bow tie pasta salad I’ve ever had. Besides my grandmother’s, of course. Good sandwiches too. I had the veggie sandwich, which at first looked a little skimpy but had a terrific russian dressing on it. It seems to be busy pretty much all the time, so you may have to wait a little bit.

Horrible gazpacho, nothing authentic about it AND it was dirty! The place is a dump! Would NOT recommend it ATALL!

Arrived on Labor Day weekend, on a Saturday, practically empty. The whole experience was terrible. Only redeeming feature was the cute counter girl that took the order. Really hard no to detail everything that is wrong with this place, but I don’t have the time. Outside is limited seating, dirty, dirty trash can even, not welcoming, no menu outside, when you enter you get smacked in the leg with a leather strap of bells, presumably to let staff know there’s another mug on the way. Or Mason jar, sorry. Counters and deli fridges are old and dirty looking. They serve Boars Head meats which is a plus. There is a serious, and I can’t emphasize this enough, a serious need for a makeover and a staff-over at this place. The manager/owner came out at one stage to take someone’s order and had the look of a repo man, barely able to be courteous let alone pleasant. You may think I’m exaggerating, but seriously, give this place a try for yourself. It’s astonishing they make money. Two major f*ck ups, the Nantucket Nectar’s we got were both out of date by 5 months, and yes, we triple checked, 5 months. Didn’t let the staff know because we figured it would be more hassle than it’s worth. This place looked run down, dirty, tiny menu with barely any options, really dodgey soup set up, on a windowsill, looking to be a health hazard. I had just driven up from NY, my wife had just come from Boston, we were both sick within an hour of eating there. I will never ever go there again. No Tv Channel could makeover this mess. Shame on the owners and managers, shame.

Solid spot. Ingredients seemed fresh and good variety on the menu. Had the #4 w/Boars Head ham, honey mustard and brie. Others enjoyed the cranberry chutney, a nice cape touch. Also have deli meats and various salads for sale by pound. Serve Cape Cod chips and Nantucket Nectars, great choices. Nice inside/outside seating.

Awesome sandwich place with quality food and a good selection, but not too expensive. The only cons(minus a star) are that it only takes cash and there is always a wait since it’s busy during the summer.

The food is overrated and the service is poor and very slow.

Nice little place for lunch… I had a roast beef with red onion and blue cheese sandwich(I don’t recall what they called it), accompanied by some pasta salad and a nice crisp deli pickle. Took it to go and enjoyed it on the beach with a cold Corona. It was very good.

It’s a chill sandwich shop featuring not too much seafood. It’s a solid getaway from the fishy typical Cape Cod fare. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Really nice sandwich shop/deli. They open fairly early too, so if you’re heading to the beach grab something on the way and you’re good to go. I only had 2 of the sandwiches on the board, but they were both really delicious.

There are two places on the Cape that I look forward to eating at while on vacation, and the Mason Jar is one of them. Ever since I discovered their chicken salad sandwich with the muenster cheese and sliced apples, I’ve been hooked. No other chicken salad sandwich will do. I recommend anything off their menu, but would suggest that you either sit outside on their picnic tables or get the sandwiches to go. There’s not much to see inside.
