As local as local gets. Locally owned and operated, BG’s Market is what small business is all about. Surprisingly diverse selection of items, pretty much all the essentials plus a lot of «value added» inventory. Good representation of local produce(in season), local cheeses and baked goods and really good, whole grain bread baked fresh. An impressively large selection of grab-and-go ice creams, popsicles, frozen treats that hearken back to a bygone era. Quite an extensive spice selection. The thing that puts BG’s Market out ahead of almost any other market/grocery in the Upper Valley is their meat section. BG’s has is a full service butcher cutting and grinding their own fresh meats seven days a week. You can special order pretty much anything you might want or need and having it cut or ground for your fresh makes all the difference in the world. For Christmas this past year Barb ground together, fresh, beef, veal and pork for me to make my meatballs with and they were outstanding. Every time I cook with meat from BG’s I get compliments from people who really know their meats. Shop local. Shop owner operated.

BG’s market is a trip back in time. The quintessential«Mom & Pop» store in the center of town. They haven’t got an expansive selection of goods but they cover the bases of necessity very well. I mean, where but a country market could you get a rifle, ammo, and fishing gear, to accompany your deli sandwich! And their meat! Their fabulous meat! The meat cutters that reside there are nothing but extremely picky about what makes it to the display case. Something as unassuming as ground beef is strikingly superior to what you can find anywhere else. The rest of the cut’s are equally superior. It’s our«go to» meat vendor for the last ten years! You just HAVE to try them out. Not a lot of flash, but excellent product.

Great little store with lots of good, local products, a small deli, an amazing selection of jarred spices, meat cut on site and, for its size, a surprising variety of beautiful fruits and veggies. Prices are very reasonable. Potato salad is awesome.

I have been buying the bulk of my meat here for twenty plus years and have never been disappointed.

BG’s Market has been around for a long time. This cute semi-small small town market has many of the basic staples one would need. However they have stepped it up a notch and carry a vast array of Vermont made products(cheese, eggs, maple syrup, breads, beer, and so forth). These items are quite pricey, however wonderful quality. Produce here is iffy. THey also sell beer, wine, and lotto. Beats going the extra miles to shop in Windsor or NH. Located at Hartland 3 Corners.
