It’s A Gee Thang Unisex Salon

I have got to give a review of the products that I’ve received from It’s A Gee Thang. Gee cuts my son’s hair, and my son has a dry scalp. About a month and a half ago he recommended the Scalp Irritating Shampoo and the Scalp Irritating Replenisher Soy & Mint. After using it the first few times, we noticed a difference in my son’s scalp, and the lack of dandruff. We have since replenished our stock.
I also have a daughter with EXTREMELY curly hair. She’s 6 years old and she complains whenever it’s time to comb the tangles out of her hair. I’ve tried countless products to moisturize her hair, and at least keep the tangles to a minimum. Nothing seemed to really work long term. So I was VERY SKEPTICAL when Gee recommended the Ajah Nicole Leave in Detangling Conditioner. I cannot stress how skeptical I was. I was sold when I washed her hair, combed through the tangles, braided her hair, and told her I was done. Her response was, «You’re done? Why didn’t it hurt?» I knew then that that was going to be the product for us.

A Gee thang is a great salon full of professional workers who are very polite and helpful. They also make products for your hair that effectively deal with dry scalp and loss of shine in hair. The thicker irrigating scalp oil stays in hair longer and keeps scalp looking fresh. Both the liquid and thicker liquid irrigating scalp oil compete with any sulfur 8 product and may be better. Try it’s a Gee Thang you’ll be happy with the product, service, and environment you will not be disappointed.

Ok so let me give an update on the products I got from G. I am a technical minded scientist engineer type. So I had to experiment to prove the products were as good as what I experienced.
So briefly, I wanted to turn off and turn on the hair flaking. I stopped using G’s products to see if the flakes would come back. I went back to my old shampoo/​conditioner and hair grease. Well after about a week and a half the flakes came back. So I turned the problem back on.
To complete the experiment I had to turn the flakes off using G’s shampoo, conditioner, and hair dressing. So I went back to using his products and yes the flakes went away. I was able to turn the problem back off.
So why did I do all of this? Just me and how my mind thinks. Also, Because I am so impressed with the products and when you like something you want to share it. Hope this is helpful to someone else.

I came in around 7:30PM and Gerald took care of me very quickly. I showed him a picture of what I wanted because I wanted to try something new. He went with it and gave me honestly one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. He took his time and it came out perfect. I would recommend this barbershop to anyone who is very particular about their hair.
Besides the great haircut, it was obvious that Gerald makes customer service a priority and is a hard worker. He was very nice and was great to talk to.
Overall an awesome experience.

Thurmond gave me a great cut in no time. I arrived (my first visit) early in the morning to find a very clean, neat bright facility, very well run, extremely professional. Because it was early in the am, parking was good. They offer all salon services for men & women including nails, prices are a little higher but it’s worth it for the cleanliness and organization and professionalism and facility

This is first and foremost a men’s barber shop. It is however set apart from your typical barber shop in every way because the service is not great but the cuts are unparalleled.
I have curly, funky hair. It is impossible to cut, and G (Gerald, the owner) does a flawless job every time. He, and from what I can tell the others take their time with every client.
It is in a little bit of a sketchy neighborhood, but it is right on Main Street and has easy off-​street parking. Cuts are really affordable, too!
