Still searching for a decent Chinese place in or near Hartford. This isn’t it. It’s not awful, but it’s not great. Stick with the Chinese menu and well known standards like sweet and sour chicken. The Pad Thai wasn’t good at all. It’s pretty run down in terms of décor, but our waitress was very sweet and friendly. The hostess who seated us was, for lack of a better word, snotty. But at 8PM on a Saturday when everything else is an hour or more wait it does in a pinch.

We order take out every couple of weeks or so. When you call most of the time they’ll answer«hi, can you please hold», and sometimes they come back, sometimes they don’t. It is extremely annoying. They will usually tell you it’s ready in 30 minutes, but I’ve picked up many times and had to wait 15 minutes after that, like they didn’t start it until I got there. That’s annoying also. Delivery seems to take about an hour or more, so we pick it up. The food is good. Not great, but not bad. I would steer towards the non-Thai foods because I don’t think they really make Thai food very well. I would suggest picking up for take out, the interior has no personality nor do the people that work there.

My wife & I have been faithful customer’s since moving to Hartford 3 years ago. We’ve put up with the lousy customer service due to the convenience of being a short drive from the house. But tonight will defiantly be our last visit! We always order the same 4 dishes and know how they should taste, well tonight one of the dishes was awful and after one bite we knew that something was wrong. We asked our server if she would take the dish back and remove it from our bill, and she said that she would look into it. She comes back saying the best that she can offer is to take 10% off of the price of that one dish, even though we just took one bite! No apologies or «would you like something else» I didn’t want our meal comped, just please remove the one dish.

I carried my food out. Great food, great portion and friendly staff! I had General TSO chicken. Excellent choice a step up from sweet and sour chicken. Enjoyed it more than sesame chicken too.

Don’t let the façade fool you – this is a hidden gem buried in a sleepy town. Friends not in the know look at me askance when I suggest eating here, but they quickly change their tune when they try the food, which is affordable and delicious. Dare I say this is the best Chinese restaurant in this state? I have only found comparable quality on the West Coast.

Wouldn’t send my worst enemy! Ordered delivery, received the wrong food. Said they would send new food but we had to give them back the old food and it would be about an hour before they could deliver. Ummmmm so either we all wait for cold food or my husband starves?! Whatever. No refund without the old food either. Seriously?! Can we just make this right? Got the manager on the phone who had NO desire to make the situation right and ended up hanging up on him(if I wanted to deal with someone less than helpful and incredibly rude and disrespectful, I’d talk to my children). If that wasn’t enough, we looked at our take out containers and found MOLD. Yes, mold. After openly complaining every chance I got, I learned that was not unusual. My advice, drive to the place in Slinger(of course can’t think of the name… Same place as inzio, snap, and the health foods place). At least what they lack in personality, they make up for in good food.

I live in Madison now. We have a lot of good restaurants. However, we don’t have any Chinese places that can hold a candle to China Garden. I should know, because I used to eat there a lot. 11 years ago, in high school, I WORKED at China Garden and got a free entrée with every shift. Plus, I got to take home all the leftover hot and sour soup to my family, which made me a hero since its SO good! China Garden rocks. Best sesame chicken EVER.

Best Chinese I’ve found in the Washington and Dodge county area. Jasmine tea is yummy as well as the five different entrées I’ve had. They have some pretty old school Chinese wallpaper but overall good atmosphere. Lose 1 star for slow service which is knowledgeable and friendly.
