You Made It!

Absolutely awesome place, great space, super customer service, owner is extremely nice and the products look fantastic after glazing. Will come as often as I am in town. Highly recommend!

I love to paint pottery, and have become so accostomed to the way You Made It runs their shop that I actually despise going almost anywhere else. Compared to some other pottery shops I’ve visited, here’s what sets them above the rest:
(1) They’re not stingy with their supplies. Other shops I’ve visited enlist a strict «hands off» policy — you can’t touch a piece unless you’re buying it, you can’t pour your own paint, you can’t get your own water/sponges/brushes…everything you need, you have to ask for. At You Made It, you’re given free roam to examine EVERYTHING they have and encouraged to be as creative as you like.
(2) They’re knowledable about their products. The shop is run by the owners (Joan and her son David), not a staff of folks that don’t care. They know what they’re providing.
(3) They teach you techniques! See something in the store that you really like and want to duplicate it? All you have to do is ask!!! Unlike some of the other shops I’ve visited, they’ll actually come to your table and show you how to do it on your own!
(4) Lots of projects to choose from. As if the many painting projects weren’t enough, they also have a bear workshop (or at least they did), and offer a pottery wheel, jewelry making, and even glass fusing! That’s a wide variety — certainly something EVERYONE can enjoy!
