Big Apple Bagels

This place is pretty awful.
Customer service: Poor: employees were just standing around talking, rather than refilling the 4 coffees that were empty and and both milk containers that were empty.
Coffee: Verrrry weak. Tasted like a little bit of flavoring & hot water. Maybe they forgot to actually add the coffee to brew???
The only good thing was I bought bagels to take home for sandwiches later and they were good.

I stopped in Tuesday, August 19, 2014 to pick up a Breakfast Box for my office. Based on the other reviews, I made sure to get there right after they opened to ensure there was no shortage of varieties. I found the staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful. They pointed out that on Tuesdays, due to a promotion, a dozen bagels were only $ 5.99 and that I would save a good deal of money by individually ordering what I wanted instead of ordering the Breakfast Box. The bagels and muffins were a big hit with my staff. Everyone thought they were great, including the big boss who was in town from you guessed it, the Big Apple. I personally tried one of the jumbo, gourmet muffins. This grandiose baked good tasted like an apple pie that was baked into a cake. It was pure decadence.

I like these bagels but if you’re a fan of the asiago cheese, get there early because they sell quickly. My only complaint is the awful woman who is there every time I go in. She is nasty and crabby to everyone. Tall, thin and crypt keeper-​esque. Beware. I only get a bagel when I go in, nothing toasted or added. She just puts the bagel in a bag and gives it to me. A 2 year old could do that so why the attitude? I made an optimistic comment about the weather one time to try and break her a little but she scoffed and didn’t reply otherwise. I hope she gets the bug out of her one day. Although if hate is the secret ingredient in these bagels, it sure tastes good. LOL

We’ve gone in several times trying to get an Everything bagel. They are always fresh out.
Send out great coupons, however never have the most popular flavors.
Why bother trying anymore?

This place is a joke. Do not go here if you are hoping to get a quick bagel and a coffee before work. There seems to be only one lady of Indian descent behind the counter, and she is very slow at preparing orders. VERY SLOW. Not to mention, when you get your bagel, most of the time it will be hard and stale.
My husband and I ordered the California Club once and got food poisoning from the guacamole. When we called, not to complain, just to alert her so she could take the rest of the guacamole off of the shelf, she was INSISTENT that we did not receive the food poisoning from there. That then made me extremely angry because it was the only thing that we had eaten all day.
I love small bagel shops that you can run in and out of in the morning, and Harrison Twp. is badly in need of another option. I just wouldn’t waste your precious time or money…
