As a huge fan of Greek/Mediterranean food this was a huge disappointment. First, the Mediterranean salad that came with my meal was prepackaged, old, and extremely small for the price I paid. I also got a gyro, but the meat was frozen, dried out, and not fresh at all. For an $ 8.50 meal I expected much better. I’m not sure I would ever go here again. You can find much better elsewhere.

Their food is DELICIOUS. They make homemade hummus, pitas, salads, gyros, etc. Their hummus and pita bread are out of this world. Their Mediterranean salad is also really tasty and is plenty to eat. The service is fast, friendly, and you can eat there or take it to go. They have vegetarian dishes as well.

This is my «go to» lunch spot! The tabouli is always fresh and delicious! The Mediterranean salad is also delicious! I’m obsessed with the lentil soup, and you have to try Nellie’s rice! The people are wonderful, friendly & helpful! As a vegetarian, there is such a variety of options available to me!

Three stars cause there aren’t any better fast choices around here and it was edible. I work near by so I figured give it a try. I wanted the steak platter but they no longer serve steak. They covered all the words«steak» with paper. I just wanted a steak kabob platter. That’s all I came for. So meh. I order the GRILLED chicken lunch special. It was bland. It did not have that nice flavorful sear I am used to having in Lebanese or Mediterranean food(or grilled food for that matter). They asked if I wanted Tzasiki. I said yes. I saw maybe a teaspoon of white watered down gunk coming out of my soggy wrap. The wrap was flaky and thin. Not a pita or pita flavored. The lettuce was poorly chopped romaine. I will give it another chance. Could be the employees who got it wrong. Once i do, i will hopefully update this. It’s better than McDonald’s or fatty chain food. Good if you are in the area, just don’t go out of your way to come here.

I can’t believe they just charged me $ 10 for a stale pita and some gyro meat slabs that you can buy at the supermarket covered in hot sauce to bury the taste. Further confirmation of the food hell /wasteland known as harrisburg. Good thing I bought some iced tea to wash it down. When I was the only person in the restaurant at 615 on a Tuesday night it should have told me something

Very good taste. Falafel tasted not fresh but overall very good middle eastern food after a long time.

I LOVE this place! The staff is simply awesome… they’re friendly & proud of what they do… which shows in their food. It’s well seasoned, delicious & properly portioned. It’s easy to see why people return here! They even have a variety of menu items named after repeat customers, which is a cool idea. A delicious way to eat healthier!

I’ve only tried their falafel and Baba ghanoush, but it was all horrible. The falafel tasted stale and has no flavor. The baba ghanoush tasted old and flavorless as well. I don’t think I’ll give them another chance. It is hard to find a good falafel here in central PA. I have yet to find one. I have had much better food from a restaurant where the they made the meat on a grill, fresh everyday, outside. I would see the wife getting fresh ingredients together to make her falafels – boy where they fresh! Crispy on the outside, and flavorful on the inside; so that may be why I have such high expectations. If you want good quality food of this kind, I would not suggest this place, especially to someone who has never had this kind of food before.

Anyone who has had real Lebanese or Mediterranean food can easily tell how horrible and over priced this restaurant is. Starting on from the confusing menu to the frozen gyro and canned processed products that they claim as fresh, this is a horrible place to come and eat. One thing is sucking in making food and the other thing is being delusional and thinking you are really good in what you do!

FANTASTIC. Authentic, delicious. Nice to see a Lebanese restaurant in Harrisburg area. Really friendly staff, too. Definitely will be back. Baba ghanoush is to die for.

Had a grilled chicken salad from there new location in the Deloitte building in camp hill. It was a little plastic bowl full of iceberg lettuce with three tiny pieces of dry chicken thrown on top. Gross.

My dad loves this place. If he’d heard of Unilocal,he’d probably be the Duke. The food was good– LOVED the falafel, the lentil soup was good(could use a little more salt), & their hummus & pita were tasty & fresh. So why 3 stars? Styrofoam. Everything was served in/on styrofoam. Do you not care about the life of the planet?! And worse, everything was MICROWAVED in/on said STYROFOAM. You know that causes cancer, right?! I ate it anyway because I was super hungry, but I don’t feel great about it. I already travel w/my own bamboo utensils to avoid using disposable plasticware. If I go back to Shab’s(which I would, because the food DID taste good), I’d probably take my own plate too. Nevertheless, they’re vegan friendly, which isn’t exactly easy to find in Harrisburg.

I am a big fan of Middle Eastern food and finally made my way to this place. Excellent lunch place. Great alternative to all the horribly boring chains. The falafal and tabouli were both fresh and excellent. I guess it was the owner’s son who was working and he dutifully answered all of our questions, made recommendations and even explained some of the more exotic items they have for sale in their small selection of Middle Eastern groceries. Very cool. Recommended!

A bit pricey, but the turkey-and-hummus stroller was so satisfying, I easily convinced myself it’s a healthier and much tastier dining option than the boring Subway next door. It’s a bright, clean hole-in-the-hall eatery and the charming Lebanese mother behind the counter gave me extra heapings. I didn’t order the sinful baklava as I had just mowed down enough food for a small family. Next time.

Very pricy. Asked if they would substitute the salad for hummus and they said sure we’ll put some on top of your salad. When I went to pay the bill they charged me 1.50 for a small spoon of hummus. The chicken plate was really REALLY mediocre for $ 11. I wasn’t really hungry that day so the portion was ok for me but on a normal day I would think 4 tiny nugget sized pieces of chicken with brown rice and a really dry pita is a horrible way to spend 11 bucks. 2 stars because they list the amount of calories on the menu and they do have some healthy choices. But I will never go back.

I love a good gyro… when the meat is good. This meat was clearly purchased from a store, not cut off the skewer like I’d expect. The chicken stroller was good, and I totally agree with the other reviews, the baklava was VERY good! Not sure I’ll make the trip back from Harrisburg just for the food as it was only ok, and a bit expensive. $ 30 for 3 people to have lunch and one was a kids meal. If I’m in the area, I would eat here as it’s better than the same old hamburger. And I’d definitely go back for the baklava.

Tried the falafel stroller with hummus. Falafel was ok but lacking flavor. I’d suggest lemon or some other acid to bump up the taste. Hummus was plain and a little boring– nothing special. My mate had the chicken stroller and reported it was very good. I will try a different item next time. I suggest trying it out as a good falafel is hard to find. Their baklava is devine.

Worst lunch I’ve had in many years. The crew seemed friendly and upbeat. Two of them highly talked up their baklava, teasing we would want to take an entire tray home($ 12). The place is very well organized and clean. The food though is low quality and badly prepared. The worst problem was the spinach pie. They had microwaved(!) it so much it was inedible, even the disposable plate they served it on was slightly melted. I took it back and showed them, and asked them not to microwave it.(I was thinking they microwaved it only to warm it up). I overheard one employee asking the person in charge of the microwave what seting she used– the response«5» was met with an exclamation of «It is supposed to be on 2!». When an employee brought my replacement, she looked rather apologetic and shrugged her shoulders saying it was the best«she»(the microwave person) could do. I looked at it– it was pasty white– meaning, the top layer of philo dough was uncooked. That’s right, they are using the microwave to cook spinach pie– they(evidently) place a layer of dough down, spread some cooked spinach mixture and some feta, then place another layer of dough and throw it in the microwave. No wonder it was inedible. No reasonable person at all familiar with cooking uses a microwave to make spinach pie, or pastries of any kind for that matter. My gyro was mediocre. I noticed there wasn’t the usual rotisserie cooked spool to cut slices of meat from– no, the meat on my gyro looked and tasted like it was sliced with a deli slicer from a premade luncheon loaf. At least the lettuce and onion were fine. The pita bread was good. My wife’s tabouli stroller was OK. The baklava was a 10-year-old’s version. A layer of phyllo dough, a layer of filling, a layer of phyllo dough. NOT the multi-layered crispy baklava that you can get almost anywhere. Except here. The filling was dense and a bit dry. Really, I can’t imagine how people could have given this restaraunt such positive reviews. My lunch there was inexcusably bad, a testimony to bad cooking, not a quirk. Not simply a matter of inept employees, but obviously uncaring management who can’t be bothered letting proper cooking procedures interfere with making a buck. And at $ 20 for two(that’s $ 20 not including any drinks or tips), not inexpensive for a lunch either. I very rarely write reviews of eating establishments, but I feel compelled to warn people about this one.

I am so lucky to have an office close to Shab’s! They have fresh and healthy menu items. The menu may seem intimidating at first but I keep returning and finding new things to love. Stop by and try: Nelli’s Rice Platter, Hummus, Vegetarian Delight, Meditterean Salad. Plenty of seating and parking. I recommend ordering a container of hummus and taking it home!

Okay had the Falafel stroller, it was very filling, soft moist falafel and fresh. We also shared the mezza platter which contained some loads of green taboulleh. As far as lunch spots go I think I am sold on my first visit. I will be honest I am fan of figure-friendly and even though they weren’t calorie counting sauces and dressings you can’t knock there effort in showing the fact sheet. There was a busy lunchtime crowd but we were served fast and very much enjoyed everything we ordered. 2 of us ordered 2 strollers and the mazza platter for 21 dollars, quite a bit to spend on lunch but we rolled out of there with over-stuffed bellies.
