Family Friendly to the highest degree! Very fresh and good produce grown locally. Fun things for kids and family to do: hayrides, shooting squash or potatoes from a giant sling-shot into the sheep field, petting animals. Oh, and fun adult things too: fun wine tasting and beer tasting at the in-house brewery and winery. We also loved to have some snack at their restaurant! We ended up stopping in just for a drink for snack and to hang out! This is a great place, glad we have been able to enjoy it often!

This place was such a neat find!!! They have an array of different farm animals and crops galore! We saw squash, zucchini & rhubarb being grown just to name a few. We also visited the pigs and sheep. They had an awesome potato launcher to feed potatoes to the sheep with. It was way too neat & fun! I got the rhubarb salsa & sweet & sour Kraut to try. They were both ssooo good and different to try! We had a very good time here!

Farm to table… really. Organic. Just picked. Good food, on-estate made wine(good), kid heaven(lots of live animals and games), good farm market on-site. It’s an inconvenient drive north of Harbor Springs, but worth a family outing for sure.

I love this place. If I could live here, I absolutely would. The food is simple and delicious. The beer flight was amazing and we enjoyed the wine tasting too. Service was great, atmosphere is very nice, and the overall feel of the restaurant is upscale overlooking a farm setting… Very relaxing.

Love, love, love this place. It is a little out of the way but as you pull into the farm you can see the vineyards, the nursery, the pig maize, the greenhouse and the pumpkin sling. There is also a barn with some piglets and goats. We have visited this establishment a few times of the past few years for the wine tasting. The staff is always friendly and informative. The wine is always wonderful. The only drawback is that you can purchase a bottle of their wine only at the farm. I picked up a brochure on the way out… they have farm to table dinners, barn dances, and family type activities. I predict that this place will be a hit for years to come.

This farm is a must when visiting the Traverse City MI area, especially for Pumpkin Fest. There is so much to do: squash rocket, feed the animals, pig races, hay rides, lunch or dinner in the café, homemade ice-cream, and all this is in addition to the freshest veggies and hormone free meats. Lots to shop for all year round. Veggies and sauces are all made on site with no preservatives. Lastly, this is a local, family owned farm. They are probably the nicest family I have ever met. Make sure to stop in with the whole family and check this place out.

So happy this place exists. We have been coming here for years and are delighted to see that every year there is something new. Cider, wine, and now beer! Being from Chicago it’s wonderful to come and enjoy a cold glass while soaking in the scenery… goats, sheep, piglets, etc. They are dog friendly which is fantastic when traveling with a small companion. The staff is nothing short of spectacular. They remember us every year. Thank you Pond Hill Farm for making our trip to Harbor Springs extra special every year. Can’t wait to see you next summer! Don’t forget to visit them at the farmers market!

Great stop for families, lots to do here with people of all ages. They have hayrides on the weekends, a restaurant, brewery, and winery with tastings, a cute general store with tons of canned vegetables and sauces, and an ice cream counter… one stop shop!

We had a wonderful day with the kids at pond hill farm. They had a blast with the squash rocket, kids play area, and feeding the farm animals. The lunch was great also.

A great farm-to-table experience with plenty of things to see, especially if you’re traveling with small Children or a foodie/locavore. A nice, informal restaurant with good service; out yonder, Livestock in the paddock(goats! Pigs! Cows!); fresh fruits and vegetables; a small playground for the little ones. Wine tasting from grapes onsite for the older ones. Well worth the short drive from Petoskey or Charlevoix.

Seriously kick-ass farm in Harbor Springs. With nearly everything closed down for the season, we were looking for something to fill our day before the trek home, and I found this place on Unilocal, and could not have been more pleased. It’s one of those awesome finds you think about in your head, and hope to find, while wanting something unique and different to do, and Pond Hill Farm was exactly what we were looking for! So it’s winter, I can only imagine the fun it is in summer, spring, and fall… actually the girl who worked in the store, showed us pictures of the fun, I seriously cannot wait to go back later this year. the store has all organic, and locally grown produce, and items that are canned and for sale. I ended up with zucchini pickles(yum, just had them for breakfast!) a corn salsa, pickled asparagus, pickled beets, and zesty bread and butter pickles! What a treat. Now on to the little wine tasting area, where wine manager Benjamin talked about the wines Pond Hill currently has in production, he gave us a little bit of wine history, we shared stories, had some great tasting wine, I ended up taking their cherry spirits, which is totally awesome! They also have a café that’s open in the warmer months. The staff here was so terrific! Super wonderful find! So glad we stopped in, cannot wait to go back!

A really wonderful example of agritourism — a multifaceted working farm offering everything from trout to honey to produce to wine to a petting farm and café’. We visited during its annual Pumpkin Festival so the place was swarming with young families — that’s not us, so we let the kids to the outdoor exhibits and instead spent some time in the farm café’. Here you can order from an interesting, ever-changing menu spotlighting Pond Farm’s own products and other local foods. I had kohlrabi bisque — I’ve not had kohlrabi since I was a child, and it was fun to try it again(it was very much like a cauliflower bisque), a cold roasted butternut squash salad with nuts, dried fruit and a cider vinaigrette, and a very tasty turkey sandwich layered with herbed goat cheese and the farm’s cranberry sauce. Very tasty. The dining area is in a barn — a refined barn, but one nonetheless, with outdoor patio heaters employed in these colder months to keep it warm and cozy. It was so crowded on this day that we wound up sharing a table with strangers, but we’re friendly people who enjoy meeting other travelers, so it was all good. We also enjoyed the farm’s retail store, which features a wide variety of farm-canned fruits, vegetables and preserves, some dairy products and some fresh produce from the fields nearby. Our one negative experience was in the wine and cider tasting room, a relatively tiny area in the barn that was packed three deep with mostly 20-somethings and a few older barflies who seemed to think that a tasting room is a DRINKING room. We’re used to a more orderly/mature winery experience, and were so uncomfortable in this rowdy crowd that we wound up not trying any wines or ciders at all, which was a disappointment. The owners may want to consider creating a larger room and/or working with the room logistics and staff to keep the area accessible and pleasant. even on event days.

I don’t really come here to feed the farm animals, rocket launch some squash, or buy from their farmers market. I really only venture out to PHF for the wine. The wine tasting room is located upstairs from the market and behind the café. They use stemless wine glasses and give you a fresh new glass for each wine tasted(which I love). I have tasted all the wines many many times, but now I just go for a glass of my favorite. They have a Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, Regatta Red, Cherry Wine, Cherry Finale, and 2 Mead Wines. All of them are wonderful! The wines that you taste are not from grapes grown there. They are in the process of growing their own grapes however. I think this is a must visit in Harbor Springs. If I’m in Harbor for the weekend, I always stop in! Love this place!

We spent the morning here with the family — two kids, one grandma. It was fun — who doesn’t love using a slingshot to cast pieces of squash out for the sheep? We fed the animals, shopped in the store and looked our future dinners in the eye — hello, chicken! Parking lot is a hot mess of SUVs, and the produce was a mix of local and shipped in items which disappointed me. It’s August, I don’t want tomatoes from out of town.

So much more than a farm. This place is a destination! On 119 just before the tunnel of trees. Make a stop here — trust me! Do a wine tasting — have lunch at the café — take a hayride — feed the animals — shoot a squash from a rocket! This is a fun place to bring kids & adults, too. Wonderful in-house canned goods … dilly beans anyone??? Love. Love. Love.

A family owned and run farm with terrific organic produce, both grown on the farm and brought in, and a remarkably well-curated tiny organic grocery shop. If you like to cook and can’t find the specialized ingredients you need at Glen’s or the IGA, there’s a good chance Pond Hill will carry them(big tins of sesame oil, bins of nuts & seeds & grains of all kinds). Also, freezers stocked with all manner of locally produced meats. The house-made jams, chutneys, canned vegetables, applesauce, etc are all really wonderful. I’ve never purchased anything that wasn’t absolutely delicious. A perfectly quaint and lovely farm market, and worth going out of your way to see it. (If it’s the time of the year for shell peas, their shell peas are absolutely the sweetest, most delicate you can find. And if you need fresh herbs, they’ll run out to pick them for you.)
