Moran’s Jewelers

I am a little torn on how to rate Moran’s Jewelers. On the one *negative* hand, the jewelry prices overall seem a bit high. (When pricing wedding bands a few months ago, even with gold prices as exorbitant as they are, the prices here were about $ 200 more than at other *comparable* stores, for similar rings.) And to round out the negativity :0), their jewelry selection overall could definitely be more extensive. Very limited selection of wedding bands/​engagement rings, as well as other jewelry selections. But this is where the good stuff comes in.
Mr. Moran does amazing custom work. My Grandma’s wedding band was an antique, and the gold setting was getting weak in several places, so Don Moran made a brand new setting, duplicating the intricate scrollwork of the original, and it is gorgeous. He really did a breathtaking job, and my Mom loves it. He also engraved Dan and my wedding bands, and they look beautiful. He is extremely talented.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his custom services, but I might check around for the standard jewelry prices before making a final purchase here. So, long story, um, short? *hehe* I’ll average it out…2−3 stars for selection/​price, 5 stars for custom-​made jewelry/​engraving services. So 3 – 4 stars all-​around.
