Great food! Definitely worth it. My friend and I dropped by to try it and are really impressed.

I luv this place! The salmon and lamb chops are my favs and everything is grilled, seasoned and prepared to perfection. Brown basmati rice has a yummy hint of cinnamon, pumpkin is EVERYTHING and the spinach is irresitable! Delicious! I usually call in my orders. It is always hot, fresh and ready when I arrive. No complaints!

If you haven’t eaten at this location in Hanover you are missing out! Staff is super friendly and ready with recommendations on days when your pallette is bored. Don’t skimp on dessert either… the baklava is bangin’!

The food here is great. Intense flavors to every dish and flatbread being rolled, baked, and pilled high on your table live make this an easy choice to return to. A little western customer service and this place would be a five.

Driving back to DC from BWI and decided to take the Anne Arundel exit and grab something to eat. I saw the sign for both Five Guys and Maiwand Kabob and had no preference at that point. Parked the car nearer to the Maiwand Kabob so I decided to go there… very happy I did. I had the beef and chicken kabob and I throughly enjoyed it. The beef was good… but the chicken was exceptional. Looking forward to the next trip to BWI so I can make another pitstop.

Things to consider: Lamb chops, lamb kabob, kofta kabob, mantu, ashuk, chickpeas, baklava, chicken kabob, rice, rice pudding, beef kabob, chicken seekh kabob, chicken curry(special), chicken jalfarazi. I wouldn’t mind eating here day and night. Service is great. It’s better to call in even if you’re dining in. It takes 15 – 20 min for the food to get ready but is definitely worth it.

This place deserve more than 5*. OMG they have the best kabob I ever eat in my whole life. Big dish includes 2 pieces of kabob, rice, salad, and a slice of grilled, onion and tomato, and also big tasty Afghani bread. Super delicious. Clean. Friendly team. Of course I will keep visiting and tell other about the perfect experience.

While I loved the food in Columbia, I wasn’t too impressed with the food at this location. The meats I tried were seasoned well, but the sauce was lacking in flavor. It was also served on disposable plates, which wasn’t a big deal, but surprising for the price we paid. I may or may not return to this one.

I really liked this place! I had the chicken tikka kabob and it was sooo good! The naan is pretty amazing too. I know… it’s «just» bread but it’s so soft and warm… my favorite combination. I ate the whole thing which is rare. The baklava was a little too sweet for my taste due to the bottom layer being soaked in a syrup. This was my first time having Afghan food and I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re interested in trying food from different cultures.

I received a coupon that made me to go in and try the food. I do like humus and mediterrianean flavors so I did not have problems with it.

Tried this place last month and it is the best Afghan food I have ever had. The kabobs and the side dishes are all excellent. My friend had fish, which also looked really good. Fresh bread too. Restaurant was really clean and quiet, and you order at the counter but the service is quick. I will definitely go back when I am in the area.

This place is really good. I had the spicy chicken tikka & lamb chops and both were awesomeeee. I hate that they use raisins in their brown rice though. But I guess I can pick them out.

Filthy. Dirty tables and no one cleans them. Standing water in bathroom– went next door to Starbucks to use their spotless bathroom instead. Got a napkin to clean table and it was dirty. Trash can overflowing. Several sodas were out of syrup in fountain machine, but couldn’t get anyone’s attention to tell them. If their public areas are this bad, I shutter to think what the kitchen must be like.

I’ve had my eye on this location for a while, and finally got a chance to stop in a few weeks back. We came in for lunch, and I ordered the Lamb Kabob, and my lady ordered the Kofta Kabob. For an appetizer we went with the spinach, and Mantu. Overall we really enjoyed the food, and i’m sure that we will be back in the future to sample more of the menu.

First, I want to express my love for Afghan food ever since I tried it for the first time in Michigan when I was in college. Maiwand Kabob is amazingly delicious and authentic. I tried their lamb kabob, beef kabob, chicken kabob, and kofta kabob. You seriously can’t go wrong with any, they are that good! Their naan bread is okay but there were times when I had some parts that were burned. I also tried their baklava pastry dessert and it was okay but I was a little disappointed to be honest. I love baklava but the one I tried here tasted like it had been sitting for quite some time. Although this is not the best Afghan restaurant that I have been to, I would still definitely put it in my top 5.

I love this place! I’ve been here a several times but I had to write about the appetizers! I just love them so much I cannot go here without getting at least one. The Ashuak(I hope I spelled it right) is my fav then Mantu and finally Pumpkin(tastes like sweet potatoes). I really can’t get past these and thinking about them. Sometimes I order takeout for the team at work that’s the fastest because I call ahead. But I noticed the appetizer portions are smaller for takeout :-((I’m greedy). The meat is good I’ve had them all no real preference. FYI If you get a lunch special you must tell them you want bread instead of rice or you will just get rice and no bread(I forgot the name for the bread) sorry!

I come here every time my boyfriend comes to visit. He loves kabobs. The food is authentic and they give large portions. Some might say this place is a bit pricey for kabobs(~$ 12) but it is well worth the price. I would recommend the lamb kabob, which comes with seasoned rice, a side salad, a freshly made naan and an amazing cilantro and yogurt based sauce. From the appetizers, I would definitely recommend the pumpkin for pumpkin enthusiasts. You probably haven’t tasted pumpkin like this before!

Maiwand Kabob may not seem like an amazing place to get Afghani food, but it’s AMAZING. We stopped at Maiwand Kabob on a whim — not really looking for anything, but willing to try something new. I’m glad we did. The location is in a small strip mall in the Arundel Mills area, so it’s not hard to find. It’s impeccably clean inside, and service is fast(though we were the only ones there for lunch). Prices are fairly cheap for the area. Everything here was superb. We got the lamb kabob, chicken tikka kabob, and mantu. The mantu — a sort of light meat-filled dumpling appetizer — was absolutely excellent and quite savory. The lamb kabob and chiken tikka kabob were equally excellent, and really made me re-think my love for Afghani in Virginia. The naan served with the meals was, strangely enough, the star of the show — it was AMAZINGLY good, and unquestionably the best I’ve ever had. No question, this place rocks. Try it.
