Several pegs below a dentist office lies the Michigan Secretary of State. I’m guessing the waiting room to hell might be a similar experience? There are several 5-​star SOS in Michigan, this isn’t one of them.
They moved from their Jos Campau location to a bigger location just north of the old location in the Glory Market shopping plaza. No flash and no flair. Licenses and plates, that’s it. You come in and draw a number and are supposed to wait for that number to be called; pretty time-​tested system right? Not here. At this location, you draw a number and sit down. Then the security guard, yes the security guard, determines who is next in line bucking the traditional number system with absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. Perhaps it’s based on algorithms that are beyond my comprehension. My number was 40 and the number showing was 37. WOW! Only two people ahead of me! However, 12 people were let in ahead of me by the Great and Powerful security guard which took my wait time to about 25 minutes. Now I’m educated mainly by public schools but even I know this system somehow is askew. It simply was too good to be true.
