We ordered takeout through the Gofer service. The food was great and delivered super fast! Fresh and delicious when you need a real deal Italian fix. The arancini balls are so good, but the order only comes with two, so if in a group get a few!

My wife and I had dinner here with two other couples last Saturday evening(Derby Day). We chose Ron Jillians because we like it and it was a convenient location for the 2 other couples. I have to say we were disappointed with 2 aspects of the experience. The call ahead feature(we called 1 hour ahead for a 6 o’clock arrival but still had to wait nearly 40 minutes after arrival). In my opinion the call ahead system needs some help. For the food, two of us ordered the personal size pizzas which were ordered to be cooked«well done». They weren’t even close to being cooked well done. Although I suggested they be sent back, my friends did not want to make a scene so they lived with it. Seems like cooking a pizza well done should be pretty simple. The other entrees were very good and met our expectations for price and quality. The waitress service was perfect. We will go to Ron Jillians again but the brick oven pizza(which I love) is off my list at Ron Jillians.

Great food, fun lively bar friendly staff. What more do you need on a Saturday night. Oh ya and live music down stairs. Fun fun!

We have been going here since they moved into their new location a few years ago and have always had a decent meal. Recently, we had dinner and drinks and were charged $ 2 X 2 for rocks. Yup — $ 2 for ice. This is not a good sign. With other newer restaurants opening up in town RJ’s needs to step up their game. Food and waitstaff(NOT bartenders) are heading down hill too. The bar in the basement is creepy.

Tried it for the first time last summer and the food was excellent. Went back a month ago and had the chicken parm. You could tell it was fresh and the garlic bread was awesome. Service was excellent. I will definitely be back.

We were here for mother’s day. We were very impressed. All of our food was great, the service was attentive even though they were very busy. Last but not least, it was less expensive than I had anticipated.

Me and my husband came here for dinner and it was great! I got the haddock and it was so fresh and tasted great! I usually get overwhelmed when I go out to eat because most places make their plates very hectic with 3 different sides and garnish. This place was very simple. My husband got the steak tips and they were great too. The bread at the beginning of the meal was delicious! I don’t have a single complaint about this place!

I’m wrestling with this one. LOVED the server. Good came out very promptly. Everything was fresh and good. Some things had a little much salt, but… it’s good italian as far as I’m concerned but not quite great… three and a half stars is about right but closer to a four than a three. Wort the trip. Just down expect north end :-D

My husband and I had dinner here for my brothers birthday on a Friday night. My brothers girlfriend made reservations and we got seated right away. First impression was fine except it was really cold in the resturant. Even my husband was cold and he’s never cold. We ordered the mussels and crab cakes as appetizers. They were good. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about. We then ordered our entrees that came with choice of soup or salad. Salads were average. The house dressing they leave on the table was yummy. For dinner my husband got the meatloaf which came with mashed potatoes. It was on the list of specials. He stated the mashed potatoes were cold and the meatloaf was horrible. I ordered the meat bolgonese. It was okay. Tasted like an upscale American chop suey and it had something in it that was almost crunchy which kind of turned me off from the dish. The waitress brought out a lava cake for my brothers birthday and other staff to sing happy birthday. Unfortunetly we were charged for the dessert, I guess they don’t give a complimentary birthday dessert. I feel like if your looking for a casual atmosphere with casual Italian food, then this is the place to be.

Every place in Hampton is busy on a Saturday night, however we decided to stop there for dinner and it was a half hour wait. Once we got our table we could see why it was busy! The staff was hustling and taking care of all the tables like it was on script. Our waitress was pleasent and one we had our meals we can see why it was busy!!! The portions were perfect and again the service was excellant. We have a 9 year old and we now know they catter to children as well. We will be back and please keep up the good work!!!

Coming from NY it’s hard to get Italian food that compares. Ron Jillian’s is very good. The sampler appetizer is a really good way to get a taste of everything at a reasonable price. Sausage, meatballs, and mozzarella sticks(chunks of cheese fried with bread crumbs) are all very good. Sauce is good. Mozzarella with tomatoes… would probably pass on that next I time. Everybody at table enjoyed their veal, chicken and fish dishes. Portions are more than you can(should) eat… though you are going to try and eat it all. Some drinks are strong! My drink came in a pint glass so it was like getting two drinks for price of one. Service was ok. Décor ok, restaurant section missing warmth, but from the outside it was what I expected. The bar looks like a good place, to hang out and even watch sports as they have some nice flat screens up. Will definitely be back again… Soon.

I have been to Ron Jillian’s twice now, and both times my boyfriend and I left full and very satisfied. I loved the welcoming atmosphere and pleasant service. But nothing beats their cheese ravioli :) my boyfriend had the prime rib which was also great! To top of our experience we had a lava cake w homemade gelato and fresh fruits… yum! We can not wait to go back!

I was at Ron Jillian’s with my husband and adult daughter for the first time on July 13th around 1:30 pm, the same day as another reviewer, Lindsay R. I agree with Lindsay on a couple of points: The hostess looked a bit dumbfounded when we walked in, no real greeting. I told her there were 3 of us, and she walked us to a table near the bar… no personality. When we finished eating, we noticed there was outdoor dining, yet no one mentioned it. We would have loved to eat out in the fresh air, had we known. I told our waitress about it, and she said she’d make sure the hostess mentioned that option when customers came in. Apparently, she didn’t do anything about it, because Lindsay R. came after us, and wasn’t told about the outdoor option. We made Ron’s a special destination that day because I read a review about their fantastic marinated steak tips. Although I was tempted by the Italian fare, I got the steak tips. They were good, but not the«best» I’ve had. So I would try a different dish next time around. My husband got Mussels Over Linguine. Very good! Several shells were empty, but I’m assuming they fell out during the preparation. My daughter ordered Linguine and Baby Clams. A large portion that she couldn’t finish, but also very tasty! My daughter and I both had a salad, which was good. The building has a «cold» atmosphere to it… did not care for the ambience. Doesn’t even look inviting from the outside. But that’s okay, I guess, since we’re here for the food. Would love to give Ron’s another try. Was interested in the Baked Haddock, Veal Parm, and Lasagna.

Came here for dinner with my family and had a really good experience. It has a lot of seating and is clean(outside seating too), and the waitress was so friendly! The warm bread they start you off with was really good, and they had a pretty large menu with lots of options. Has an italian feel but they also had a lot of other choices.

May 172014 — After receiving recommendation for this place by some people, we met with a couple friends for dinner. Reservations were made ahead, which helped since by the time we arrived, there were a few people ahead of us. With reservations, we were seated right away. Four of us sat at a booth just to the left of the entrance. The booth was a little tight, but we dealt with it. The table was filthy, as were two sets of flatware. I do not understand how the server missed the filthy flatware. You could visibly see food remained on the forks and knives; it was disgusting and not a good first impression. For appetizers, we ordered«The Sampler» for $ 10, consisting of sausage, meatballs, mozzarella sticks, garlic bread and the«Brick Oven Garlic Bread» for $ 4. The mozzarella sticks were delicious. We also received a basket of warm rolls, which were delicious. For dinner meal, I chose Baked Haddock($ 12) with a Garden Salad($ 7.50). The Garden Salad was supposed to consist of vine-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives monterey cheese, red onions, sweet peppers and pepperoncini. It came with one black olive, one tomato, a couple red onions, and a pile of lettuce. For $ 7.50, it was expensive to not have all that the menu said it would consist of. I ordered the baked haddock with no butter, but they said butter was used to bake the haddock. I did not find the haddock to be cooked well and could see the scales on the bottom of the fish. I was not pleased with the taste of the haddock. The ambience was loud, but also busy. If the first impression was better(no filthy flatware and table), I probably would have given one more star. This restaurant is slightly worse than a Friday’s restaurant. I would not go here again unless it was the last place to go. I did not have an overall pleasant meal. Pros: Reservations, delicious mozzarella sticks, oven warm bread

Fantastic! We will return!(And have already ordered pizzas to go… twice!) Waitress — very nice, knowledgeable, attentive yet not hovering. Food– AMAZING! First, you get the fresh out of the oven bread — SOGOOD! The menu had so much to choose from. I had a salad and fettuccine alredo and my husband ordered a small porky pizza. The portions were so generous, we had a whole lunch for the next day. The pizza is like nothing else around. Excellent! Lots of drink options. Nice atmosphere! I can’t wait to eat outside there when its warmer out. 100% recommended.

I had a very good dinner at Ron Jillian’s this evening. This Italian restaurant on the Seacoast has been on my list of places to visit for quite some time. I was going to have dinner at Ron Jillian’s last month, but I ended up having dinner at their old location which is now The Fores. I arrived at their new location(former Ocean Bank) around 6:00PM and the parking lot was almost full(found a space way in the back of the building. There were also several people in the front of the restaurant waiting for tables. As a single diner, I decided to head straight for the bar for quicker service. The bar was fairly busy, so it took about 5 minutes for a bartender to take my order. I immediately ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana Dinner($ 14.50) which included choice of pasta and soup or salad and bread. I chose the Chicken & Sausage Soup, which had tender chicken & slightly spicy sausage, white beans, mushrooms, carrots, in a hearty thick tomato base broth. The chewy Italian bread was served hot with butter pats. The entrée arrived to my seat in about 15 minutes after ordering, The portion of hot food was very generous, the eggplant parmigiana served on one plate and a separate bowl of pasta(I chose fettuccine) on the side. Both dishes were topped with generous amounts of thick and hearty marinara sauce. The eggplant parmigiana had a good stack of thin breaded slices of eggplant, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese. The fettuccine pasta with marinara sauce was cooked just right. I actually finished off all of the food in front of me since I was very hungry and I passed on ordering any dessert. The service was attentive, as the bartender refilled my ice water glass twice without me asking, thank you! I did notice the couple sitting next to me ordered the Mussels Bianco with their drinks, which looked very good, served in a big sauce pan(with handle) full of PEI mussels cooked in white wine sauce & garlic butter & herbs and they used the complementary bread for dipping. I will definitely have to order this on my next visit to Ron Jillian’s!
