As others have said… terrific view /average food. The service is also oddly slow and inattentive given them small crowd. That view that almost makes it worth the price… almost

Went there for lunch today. We had the chicken tenders and the fried flounder sandwich with cole slaw for the side. The food was good and the service even better. Very attentive to our needs. Stopped by several times to check on us and was very pleasant. The restaurant was very clean. We were able to get a table by the window to see the fabulous view of lake. We would go back again.

If you don’t mind lackadaisical service, the food is pretty good. The lake view and mountains in the background is very beautiful. Someplace to go once in a while but not on a regular basis. They wouldn’t let us reserve tables by the window, which was disappointing but I’m sure we’ll go back.

My family and I decided to take a chance with this horrendous restaurant. It had a beautiful view and amazing food. That was the only great thing about it. The hostess was rude and the waitress dropped our food down and didn’t even asked if we needed anything. We never saw our waitress again. We had to ask the buser and food runner to get us more bread and water. Our waitress only showed up again to drop off our check. We also noticed that there was a wasp flying around the dining room. When we pointed it out to the hostess, she was nonchalant about the matter. Go for the view and the food but the staff was horrible!

The view is breathtaking! The fresh bread served before your meal is wonderful. Drunken Mussels are a must have. The fried crab cakes were light and delicious. The staff was very friendly. A little on the pricey side but highly recommend!

The Captain’s Table is a wonderful restaurant right off Watauga Lake with amazing view and a great selection of seafood. The restaurant has plenty of seating, pretty neat décor, and food to satisfy anyone’s cravings. If you don’t like seafood, the Captain’s Table has delicious French Onion Soup, sandwich choices, and the always-dependable chicken fingers. The Captain’s Table is a fantastic place to go for a relaxing lunch with family and friends with a beautiful view. It’s close to many boating docks, so stop by before you take a swim or boating trip around the lake! The Captain’s Table is closed Monday through Tuesday, and is open 11am-8pm Wednesday through Thursday, 11am-9pm Friday and Saturday, and 11am-8pm on Sunday’s.

This is a wonderful place. It’s very off the beaten path with a view that will rival most anything you’ve ever seen. The food is very good and the service is attentive. Don’t expect exotic chef specialties, just entrée’s that deliver what the menu promises. I recommend the lettuce wedge salad and scallops as an appetizer. They serve nice bread with both herbed and sweet butter. The steaks are good and come cooked as you order them. The seafood is well prepared but nothing exotic. They have an exceptionally nice patio with a spectacular view. It’s a great place to kick back and enjoy an evening. Feel free to light up a smoke out there and contemplate the beautiful lake view and breeze. I’d say you should put this place on your bucket list. PS: There are also cabins you can rent and a marina.

Great views of the lake. Didn’t eat but the menu looks like typical middle of the road seafood.

Our family has been going to this restaurant for 20 years. Absolutely gorgous view, and wonderful atmoshere. I really wish I could say the same for the food. It is definately hit or miss. Our last visit was a miss. Hair in the food, under cooked«medium well» burgers, drinks were sitting empty on table, my daughter was snapped at by waitress for asking for something, we were served dessert from tray which was stale and there for looks. In their defense it was Mother’s Day and extremely busy. But management is poor. With all the issues our table had we never did get a visit from management. Food was just OK. Will I go back? Probably… location and view is great. Cocktails were good. I feel if a new management team came in this restaurant could be a winner. That will never happen since it is family owned. Again, view and cocktails are good. Worth the visit on those issues.
