Stopped in for lunch. Ordered sides. Boudin, Boudin rice, and cracklin. It is the best.

YES! If you love pork and meat in tube form this place will be your nirvana. It’s all in the name. As soon as I walked in I said, it smells like heaven in here. Smoked meat heaven! The sausage is made and smoked in house and is shows. It was all incredible. Oh the crackins. This is what it’s about. Crispy skin, with a layer of near liquid fat that bursts in your mouth and as a special present cause God loves you a beautiful piece of pork meat. The seasoning is great with a nice touch of heat. We all would have been happy with just these to eat. The boudin balls were everything I wanted. Rich, umptious and lusciously porky. I want to live here. Not in Hammond, La. In the actual restaurant. Thanks for the memories Ronnie!!!

Stopped here while visiting New Orleans, meat-lovers delight! Tried the boudin balls and crawfish pies and both were amazing. Also had the boudin po boy and the hot mix sausage po boy. Best food we’ve had on the trip so far and it was just a place we accidentally happened upon. Delicious, convenient, and fast! Highly recommended.

Don’t let the outside fool ya. What this place lacks in atmosphere and frills, it makes up for with large portion sizes of yummy food. I got the Ronnie’s Special Poboy which consists of two boudin balls covered with BBQ pulled pork. It was fed worth it! Total paid with a a drink, a mound of Cajun fries and tax was $ 12, and it was more than enough to fill me up. The place is slammed for lunch, so get there early. You won’t find much to look at, condiments are limited to ketchup packets, and the drinks are iced tea or Coke 20oz products, but the food is really good and characteristic of some great Louisiana dives. If you’re pulling off the interstate and looking for a quick bite for not a whole lot of money and want something flavor to boot, this is a def spot!

I’ve had so many great meals this past vacation that I can’t count them. This was one of my favorites. We dropped by on a Wednesday so tried the roasted pork daily special. It was tender, so flavorful, so awesome with a bit of a kick. Even better, on my humble opinion, was the sandwich, Ronnie’s Special. It was a dream. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. It will be on my route any time I’m driving through again.

Cracklins are awesome! Lunches are decent for the money. Only thing I can complain about is that I feel bad when I get ready to leave because I have to throw away so much food. Their portions are huge for lunch. I give this place a thumbs up.

We stopped in during a recent trip through Louisiana. We ordered boudin balls, crawfish egg roll, pulled pork poboy, and cracklin’ to go. All of it was excellent, although I thought the cracklin was a little less crunchy than I like. I also would’ve liked more spice to be put on it.

Ate here for a Friday lunch leaving New Orleans and loved it. Catfish Friday’s are second to none. Some of the best I’ve had.

This is one of those restaurant experiences I expect to dream about for years and wake up in a puddle of drool. My friend and I snagged the last Tuesday plates, brisket with spicy sausage and sausage rice, much to the chagrin of the fellas in line behind us. While we waited, I scoped the big fridge, stocked with venison andouille, hog head cheese, and a dozen other game delicacies. I admired the showcases of square-inch cracklins, the giant cheese-stuffed boudins, the miniature pecan pies. I reminded myself to save room. The server called us back to the counter to pick up our plates, which we brought to the unadorned tables. Then we went totally silent, amazed, wide-eyed, slowly eating bite after bite. The brisket was so flavorful and most. So fatty and full of fresh meatness. The sausage was so spicy and crumbly, and somehow the rice dense as it was, might have been my favorite bite. The saddest part of the meal was being too full to get anything else. I might plan another trip back to Amite Louisiana just to try the boudin balls and crackins, but I might get too full again if I arrive on a Tuesday.

Oh dear lard. That was the best! We had the stuffed boudin balls, a link of boudin, a mini pecan pie, and some beef jerky. They have a cooler filed worth sausages and boudin for sale to take home or you can sit inside and order a po boy or some boudin to eat there. Daily specials. You just have to stop here if you’re anywhere near this place. They even sell crawfish boudin! Next time I’m trying Ronnie’s special po boy: boudin balls topped with pulled pork and all the trimmings. Awesome boudin. Get ya some cracklings.

Great place to stop! The food is divine, the staff friendly, and the location close to the interstate is easy. We will be back as often as travel allows, and the thought of the boudin and cracklins may just make us travel more often :)

OMG! The smoked boudin is indescribably delicious! I will definitely be returning! Thank you Ronnies Boudin & Cracklins for delivering true Louisiana favor! If you are traveling through Louisiana via Interstate 12 you must make Ronnies Boudin & Cracklins in Hammond, Louisiana apart of your regular stop!

I had to leave a review before even trying the sausage and boudin I bought. A friend and I stopped here on our way home to North Louisiana. We asked the lady at the counter if it would be good for the five hour drive home. One of the guys working said ‘No but give me a minute and I will fix you up.’ He took our refrigerated purchases and vacuum sealed them with ice so that they would be good for the ride. Now that is excellent customer service.

You’ve seriously got to try the incredi-mazing, award-winning, smoked boudin & cracklins! Be sure to go early to get them while they’re fresh and hot! I am not surprised that they sell out of their popular items well before noon. We came in around 9am(they’re open 7am M-Sat) and were given the best and friendliest customer service. We even got to sample their award winning smoked boudin and regular boudin! A place that stands behind the great taste of their product is an A+++ in my book! They have a refrigerated section offering various meats like deer sausage, stuffed chicken, hog head cheese, beef jerky, and different varieties of sausage. Daily lunch specials and po-boys are available for to-go or dine-in. The store is spacious and clean, and the aroma of cracklins entices you to stay longer! We are so happy we stopped by this morning. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the Hammond area. You’ll love Ronnie’s as much as we do!

A friend turned me on to this local eatery. And I am very glad he did! Show up early(before 1130am) if you want one of the daily«specials». Once they are out of these specials you can still order from the menu on the wall. We got there at 1131 and I was able to snag a pork steak plate. There were only two left! It included a very flavorful and large«ribeye» style cut of pork. It also had about a ½lb. Of rice with boudin, Mac and cheese, baked beans and a sliver of garlic bread. The building is very unassuming but well maintained. The staff are very polite and helpful. Bottom line– I will be back!
