Family run businesses with great customer service still exist. I recommend this store to anyone in search of a fireplace or stove. Great people who are about finding your needs and filling it not just the sale.

I called Bowden’s because we were having difficulty relighting the pilot light on our gas fireplace. The technician fiddled with the unit for about 30 seconds and relit the pilot light. He showed me the correct way to light it (which of course, I had not used). He did not charge me for the service call and I had never used them before nor had they installed the unit. I will, however, call them the next time.

Super nice people run this place. So accomidating, especially for people who have NO idea about fireplaces (me!)
I live right around the corner from Bowdens. We’ve had some trouble with our fireplace this past winter so we had some guys from Bowdens come by to check everything out. They gave us a bunch of options, worked with us, and showed us a ton of ways we could get everything we wanted without having to break the bank.
Great people, and pretty great results. Really nothing to complain about at all. Check ‘em out!

Really poor customer service — scamming?
So far, confusing and circular. Trying to have gas logs installed. Had 2 technicians come to house to assess what would need to be done but no follow up, no return of phone calls. Received bill for $ 100 for their services although the agreement was no charge if we installed. Never given a chance to install the logs. Complained, they said they’d take care of it, visited shop and picked out the logs etc. Just received another bill for $ 100 with threat to turn over to a collection agency. Cutting them off. If they can’t sort out the simple stuff can’t imagine it will get any better. Feels like a scam to get $ 100 then they ignore you and dont have to do any real work for the money.

Tom, the owner of Bowdens Fireside, installed a wood burning fireplace insert in my kitchen 3 years ago. Aside from their yearly chimney sweep, I have had no issues whatsoever.
After all this time, the biggest, and most consistant compliment I get on my home is on the kitchen fireplace.
Bowdens has had great service for both the installation and the upkeep, but my biggest thank you goes out to Tom for suggesting the fireplace in the kitchen!
