Very very good. The place was empty being thanksgiving eve but super friendly staff and very good food! Midori is the real deal!

I’ve seen this place for a few years but never really knew much about it. My boyfriend recently suggested that we try it and I’m so glad we did. I was pleasantly surprised by this Korean Japanese fusion restaurant. The place is tiny so I wouldn’t recommend going with a big group. There’s only three people that work there and they’re all very nice. They have a sushi menu as well as noodles and Korean dishes. I’ve been back two times now and both times I had the chicken ramen because it was so delicious! My boyfriend had the beef bulgogi and the chicken ramen and loved them both.

When you walk into Midori nothing décor wise strikes you as special or unique, however the staff is warm and inviting. The atmosphere is relaxed with soft music in the background. I came for a late lunch/early dinner on Election Day so there wasn’t anyone around, my food came out quickly. I had two sushi rolls.(See my picture) The rolls were delicious. I’m excited to go back and try more of what they specialize in. Overall, it was definitely a positive experience.

Stopped in for a take out lunch of sushi & sashimi. Place was cute & inviting. Ordered sushi sashimi combo for 14.00 lunch portion. It came with soup or a salad. salad? They were very nice people and substituted my California roll with a tuna roll as I requested. I left a 5.00 tip. It was good, but by far the skimpiest portions I have ever seen and nothing great. People at the job site were laughing when I brought it back because everything was so small and skimpy. It’s too bad, I wanted to like this place. I will try a different place next time.

Very casual peaceful atmosphere. We came for a late lunch on a Friday. We had the place all to ourselves. We ordered their Korean specialties: seafood pancakes for an appetizer, dolsot bibim bop, and thinly sliced beef Korean BBQ. It was all delicious! The family owned and operated place is great. The owners are very friendly if subdued. They were already subdued when we arrived, so that was great. It’s kind of like having dinner at the grandparents place. But don’t worry, it doesn’t take long for your food to arrive. And when it does, it will occupy all of your senses. You think I’m writing superlatively until you experience it for yourself. Small pleasures.

From the outside, this place doesn’t look like much, especially compared to the always crowded beer bar and the Thai place right next door. However, when you enter, this restaurant makes you feel right at home. The décor is simple, warm, and there’s sure to be Mozart or some Yiruma playing in the background. Coming from California, I’ve had some very very good Korean food(so many Asians in our state lol). Now a transplant on the east coast, I have found my options few and far in between. While Midori’s food is not the best I’ve had, I enjoyed my meal each of the five times I’ve been here. They have many Korean dishes and an array of sushi rolls as well! I usually go for the bulgogi while my boyfriend gravitates towards the stone pot bibimbap. You usually get miso soup and about 3 banchan side dishes. It’s a lot of food for a reasonable price! This spot is owned by a small family comprised of an elderly woman, her husband, and a young man who I’m assuming is their son. The service is great, the food delicious, and each dinner experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Come here if you’d like a no-nonsense meal by a sweet Korean family. :)

What a find. Was LITERALLY searching for a restaurant to take my 90 y/o mom while idling in their parking lot and decided to give it a try. Nice to go to a place where people care about what they serve and recommend. Try the starred Korean dishes. Their Dol-Sot Bibim Bap is not only authentic and light and flavorful but REALLY fun to say!

I’ve only tried the bibimbab, but I’ve been very happy with it. I’m glad I found this restaurant because it is a comfortable place to eat. I like that it is small and doesn’t try to dress-up the place with«Asian» décor. I only wish they had more soups besides the udon and ramen.

Excellent bibimbap. Prices are decent and I love their little mochi desserts. If you’re hankering for korean food, this is the place to go. Been here enough times to say that there isn’t a thing on the menu that I don’t like.

Completely amazing! Mikro is right next door and yes I know it’s good, but try something new people! Group of three came in for lunch. As we sat a group of four older Korean women were leaving, all smiling, laughing, and seemingly satiated, which to me is a good sign. We ordered chicken ramen, bulgogi, and the bibim bap. Everything we ate was fresh, delicious, and authentic. If I lived here I would come twice a week. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in CT.

A really good restaurant!!! It’s one of those small shops that are«hidden» with delicious food and a homey vibe. The lady was really nice and it felt like a mom and dad restaurant with homemade, authentic food. High ratings, will come here more often

I went to Midori with a few friends for dinner last week. Midori offers pretty good food, but I’m not sure whether I would go out of my way to eat here again. Of their appetizers, I preferred the Korean sushi rolls the most; however, it wasn’t amazing and next time I think I would forgo appetizers. I ordered the Dol-Sot Bibim Bap, which was good but I felt like it was light on meat and heavy on rice. The food and the service were both fine here. I may return to eat here again, but since it is not on my way, nor particularly close to home, I’m on the fence about returning. Recommendations: –Skip appetizers or select something that you know you like Verdict: Pretty good, although I wasn’t «wow-ed».

Midori is like two great restaurants in one where you can get authentic Korean food and quality sushi at the same time. I’ve had a number of things from Midori’s menu — from small takeout lunches to large orders of noodles and dumplings for 20+ people — and I’ve never been disappointed. The bibimbop rice bowls, japchae stir-fried noodles, and various noodle soups are made from fresh ingredients and packed with flavor, and they make delicious meals on their own. I usually lean toward the Korean side of the menu, but I’ve had their sushi, too, and it’s also really good. Prices are very reasonable, and there are lunch specials for both noodles and sushi. The owners(who are the only two people I’ve ever seen there on staff) are always very nice, and they’ve been more than accommodating when I’ve asked for extra things like a container of hot sauce to-go, or a giant plate of dumplings ready to go for a school event the next day. When I’m in the mood for something different for lunch or dinner, I’m glad to have Midori as an option in Hamden.

Nice little spot. Presentation of the dishes is incredible. Great authentic food made with love and care. If you are in the area and craving Korean/Asian this is the spot.

My Queen & I decided to revisit this lovely establishment, and again, we were extremely pleased with the food. She decided to try the Dak-Galbi(chicken, veggies & rice cakes in spicy sauce). The chicken was tender and perfect bite-sized morsels. But adding spice to this dish has raised the bar to another level, because I personally enjoy spicy meals, The rice cakes were tasty, overall, we must return due to the great food being served here!!! Admittedly, this place is a little pricey, but its worth it!!!

What a pleasant little surprise of a Korean restaurant in Hamden. The restaurant is quaint and immediately has that small family run feel to it when you walk in the door. There are about 5 – 6 tables in the place. As for the food, everything that we ordered was excellent. I tried the Bibimbop in the stone pot which was fantastic. Great presentation, great taste and the food came out quick. My boyfriend tried the chirashi. He thought the portion was a little small but was quite pleased with how fresh the fish tasted. We also tried a Midori kimbop which was nicely done and a very generous portion for $ 5. The salads that came with the meal were very fresh as well. I’m so pleased with this little restaurant. It’s clear that the owners take great pride in their restaurant. The prices are all very reasonable. Our chirashi, kimbop and bibimbop came to $ 36. We’ll be back.
