Nice little winery — they get their grapes from around the world, and then make all kinds of small-batch wine. Lots of very good wine from varietals that you wouldn’t otherwise find in NY. They also sell home wine making supplies.

Wanna learn how to make your own wine? This unassuming-but-darling little wine shop, set off a grassy roundabout just off Main Street in Hamburg, has one of the only wine supply stashes I’ve seen in Western New York. Everything from DIY wine kits to bags of corks is hidden in the back of Ten Thousand Vines. They’ve also got a classroom upstairs where they host classes to teach you how to use the stuff. The fun thing is, you’d never know it from looking at the outside or the front of the store, which may be why I’m writing this store’s first review. It looks just like your standard cute suburban wine shop, complete with friendly owners. Neutral earth tones, watercolors depicting the local flora and fauna, that kind of thing. But in the back — weird science! Granted, they’ve got a tasting counter and some cool bottles, so it’s worth a stop for any oenophile. But it’s that scrappy back room that makes me excited to go back when I have more time to ask questions, try things out, and even take a class myself!
