Stopped in for lunch and I’m glad I did. There was only one server working the whole place who by the way was very friendly so things took a bit longer but it turned out to be a comfortable relaxed lunch. Turkey Panini, Pittsburgh steak salad, red pepper bisque and French onion soup. Everything tasted great and was served visually pleasing. The place itself is cozy and sound from the other tables doesn’t travel all that much. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Well worth a stop the next time your hungry in Hamburg.

Loved their dinner special including the soup. The board to add to the bar to make my dining experience more comfortable was extra special and well thought out. I will be back!

A place with personality and charm, great food and ambiance. My family has made this restaurant a regular favorite and whenever I have an event(wedding/baby shower, etc), this is where I host. Excellent, always. Owners are always on site and pay attention to guests’ needs, there is never a dissatisfying experience at Mason’s 52! Stop and say hi to Marlene at the bar!

During December we dined twice and on both occasions waited more than an hour after ordering to receive our food. We had dinner with another couple and the excuse for the delay was the steak order, but when it arrived it was cold. Waitress offered desert with apologies. We went back later in the month for lunch, again waiting more than an hour for soup and sandwiches. it appeared the waitress was covering all tables and the bar. It will be a long time before we chance going back to Masons. Over the years we have enjoyed the restaurants food and atmosphere but something is going wrong. We are disappointed.

My wife and I stopped into Mason’s for dinner. I had a great burger, cooked perfectly on a toasted bun with great fries. My wife had the Sweet Potato Pear Chicken and loved it! Service was great, food was wonderful and the owner and staff are top notch. Always a great experience.

Love this place! The Dragonberry martinis are excellent and any food we have ever ordered has been delicious. Today we tried the chicken wing soup and honey mustard chicken and the stuffed pepper flatbread pizza. Very friendly staff and bartenders! Always an enjoyable experience.

Stopped in here this past Monday with my girlfriend for diner. It’s a actually a nice little place inside. The food was hit or miss and a bit pricey for what you get. The spinach and artichoke appitizer was OK, not real good but not bad either. I had the hamburger(they were out of the Triple Prime Burger, not a good sign when you run out of one of your signature menu items) and it was really an excellent burger. However the fries were EXTRA crispy and cold. Obviously they cooked too long and then sat around a while. My girlfriend had the Pasta Napoli and it was a mound of pasta with a few crumbs of feta, a couple sundried tomatoes and a bit of spinach. She said it was tasty but rather lacking in substance for the price. My second beer arrived in a glass with either a crack or scratch and something stuck to the rim. It looked like something had been baked on in the dishwasher. I’m sorry, but I work behind the stick and if you can’t take the 5 seconds to look at a glass before serving, you are an utterly incompetent and lazy bartender. It certainly wasn’t like the bar was slammed so there’s really no excuse for it. Between the skimpy pasta, cold fries and the bartender, it doesn’t appear their quality control matches their prices. It’s a shame because that burger really was good but no where near worth going back.

My father and I found Mason’s tonight and decided to dine there on a whim. We entered a lovely and lively bar first, where happy hour was in fill swing and everyone was enjoying themselves. The restaurant was to the rear through a set of glass-paned doors. The dining room was nice and cozy, but empty when we arrived around 6:15 pm which was disconcerting at first, but soon people started to flow in. We started with coffee which was delicious– a big plus since you never know what you’re going to get in the evening. Dad had the side salad with raspberry vinaigrette which looked pretty and was delicious. I had the roasted red pepper bisque which was piping hot and to-die-for. For entrees Dad had the Macadamia-encrusted salmon which he declared to be, at 78 years young, the best salmon he had ever tasted. The raspberry sauce drizzled artfully around the plate added to the sweet-savory appeal, and the sides of pretty, herb-roasted baby red potatoes and roasted veggie mix looked and tasted great. I had a vegetable medley of Mediterranean flavors(oil, black olives, artichoke, mushrooms, spinach & sun-dried tomatoes) over penne with sliced steak and fresh-shaved parm that was right up my alley. The steak was not a bargain cut often used to combine in that way, but was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. Even the rustic Italian bread was good, and we had a wonderful time. When I read the other reviews, it is hard to believe we all went to the same place. As for the chicken salad experience(below), I appreciate unusual and out-of-the-box presentations. I would actually like to try that one. To each his own, but we loved the place and look forward to going back.

I’m not sure why my original review has been deleted… but this restaurant has the worse food and service. An Asian Chicken Salad should NOT be covered in cinnamon! Cinnamon on chicken is a taste no one wants. I also didn’t appreciate the owner being rude and acting like I’m Stupid for not enjoying that salad. It is not on the menu that ingredient is on the salad and there are people out there that can not eat that it. What then?

I stopped here for lunch today while in Hamburg with my friend. We didn’t recognize the name; we knew this used to be something else but it’s now a bar/pub with a restaurant in the rear. I ordered the special sandwich of the day, chicken with artichoke and cheese on a roll with choice of fries or macaroni salad. The chicken was tender and the roll was good but the artichoke and cheese was just like the dip of the same name and piled on. Tasty but way too gooey for me. The waffle fries were crisp and had a bit of a bite. Nice! My friend had the soup of the day, a nice and spicy tomato bisque, and a BLT. Service was good and the prices were, too. It looked like it might be a fun pub-type evening if you’re in Hamburg.
