Terrible! Went for lunch on a Sunday, our waitress was awful, and appeared totally uninterested and bored. The food was awful, I got a club sandwich, it was the same quality meat and cheese you would find in a lunchable. Even the tater tots tasted like they were generic frozen tots thrown in the oven. Ordered a diet coke and took one sip, tasted so similar to regular I asked her if she was sure this was diet. She told me people ask that all the time and its just that they put too much syrup in the machine.. . after a few people tell you it doesn’t taste like diet, don’t you think they would fix it? Total waste of money, don’t bother!

I have been coming here for 30 Years. Great Home Cooking + Friendly Fast Service and inexpensive prices. Now NO Smoking.

I’ve been sitting here longer than I should for 1 pancake and 1 egg. Read the reviews after the fact and regret walking in the door. Since smoking is no longer allowed maybe the owner could give the place a good cleaning! The smell ruins your appetite. The staff, they just stand around, doing nothing! Won’t be back.

Great service and food at affordable prices! Small town diners always worry me because I’m afraid they will be dirty and allow smoking. I was pleasantly surprised walking into The Café! Definitely will be back when I am in town.

This restaurant is absolutely awful. We walked in hoping for an amazing birthday breakfast experience. But no. We were not greeted properly, seemed like we bothered the waitress. I will just bullet point out what I observed. They complained how they hope no more people would come in OUT LOUD! THE WAITRess brought out syrup IN THE LARGE CONTAINER AND SAID «oops I have to put it in a thing» I heard about the waitresses night how they were drinking and had too much wine. How they rolled out of bed late and did not want to make it to work. My order was not how I wanted it. Needed less to say I will NEVER BE BACK HERE AGAIN!!!
They need to learn better customer service.

I tried to do a to go order here this morning, they acted like they didn’t want to help me so I left. Will not be back.

When you walk in, you are hit with strong smoke smell because you have to walk through the smoking section to get to the non smoking seats. The service was terrible. Had to wait a long time for service and a longer time to receive mediocre food. I had the chicken fried chicken which had been pounded so thin you could not even taste the chicken. It was all batter. As thin as the chicken was, I imagine that they get about four servings out of one breast. My husband and I both ordered baked potatoes. When we got our bill there was a two dollar charge for the condiments on the potatoes. I checked the menu and this is not mentioned so I asked the waitress and was told that it was the owners decision to charge for condiments that other places just put on the potato..

Simply not impressed. The menu selection seemed too repetitive and lacking. I was looking forward to breakfast, but they gave us the lunch/​dinner menu. It was 11 so it would have been nice if they asked what we preferred. They serve breakfast all day, so I don’t really get why they didn’t ask. I wanted to ask the server to bring me a breakfast menu but no one came to the table for like 7 minutes. Then when they did come they wanted to take our order. No stopping by the say hi my name is, or I suggest this or do you have any questions. It was kind of sad actually. The food was nothing special, in fact it was so insignificant that I didn’t even want to take home the more than half of the CFC that was left on the plate.

being a new timer to this place, I didn’t know what to expect when I walked in the front door. A few aged couples filling the front booths, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes I was soon alarmed (smoking inside?!?) this 50’s style diner reminds me of back home when I personally worked at the pink cadillac diner.
the waitresses greeted me with a smile and helped me find the perfect seat so I could eat in peace.
A few rounds of prompt hot coffee started my breakfast here off to a good start.
I ordered the breakfast special (2 eggs, tomatoes and pancakes) I ordered my eggs pouched hard but they came out basted medium… but they were delicious and hot non the less.
My server was friendly and attentive and her attire was neat and professional (very impressed due to the area of haltom city)

I will definitely be back to enjoy fresh coffee, free wifi, great service and good food!

We like this place. Be warned they are not open on Saturdays! I’ve only had breakfast here so that’s all I can comment on. Everything is always cooked as ordered. Coffee was kept filled. And they have a smoking section just so you know. Get your bacon extra crisp and they are happy to that for you!

I’m not looking forward to going back to this place just to review it.
My general impression of this place is not good considering that the last couple of times that I’ve been here I’ve experienced long wait times for poor /​brown gravy mix covered food.
Hopefully, they can make me change my mind.
